  1. Thanks again for the info. Interesting that the Kluger is not classed a $WD. Yesterday in the mud, My kluger with Cooper ST's, went places my mates Pathfinder didn't go.
  2. Thanks holmesie, I played in the mud on the south coast yesterday, and it became a topic of discussion. I might head off to ARB and ask them.
  3. Hi all, Does anyone have any info on if there is, or where, the recovery point is, on the front of a Kluger? Thanks, keep smiling
  4. Hi all, For what it's worth, I just got the 19 inch bridgestone's from tepe tires in Sydney, $350 each.
  5. Gidday Scott, I've been thinking about a UHF also. A guy at work had a GME installed in his pathfinder. Was completely hidden except for a small socket to plug the handset into. All the controls are on the handset. When not in use, unplug the handset and hey presto, no radio. Wasn't cheap though, I'm thinking around $750 fully installed. Can get info for you if your interested. Cheers Marty
  6. yeah mate wouldnt mind that pics if got any was swaying towards bf all terrains but very expensive for the size these might be another option. cheers scott Hi Scott, I have posted pics on the forum. It appears I didn't "shrink" the pics enough, but you will get the drift. Cheers Marty
  7. Hi Scott, Hopefully the pics are attached. The tires were $290ea. They are 20mm bigger than the stock bridgestone 19inch combination. I had to modify the spare wheel cover to cater for the larger tyre. My logic was that the cover still protects from underneath and from the front, which is where most, if not all damage to the tyre would come from. Hope this info is usefull.

    Filling up

I'm saying it was just the pump. I haven't had that problem.
  9. Howdy again, Got the Cooper tyres on the weekend, all good. Happy to answer any questions. Pic attached for interest. well there was meant to be, but it doesn't want to play the game. Any tips? I will send to email address's as requested. Cheers
  10. I was curious if there was an auto close upgrade for the sunroof, maybe applicable here?
  11. Hi again, Well, I screwed up with the tyre size. The 245/70 17 Cooper ST will fit, but the 265 wont, it will rub the rear shock absorber. Hoping to get these fitted on saturday, will keep the forum posted. cheers
  12. Thanks Stuart, can you tell me the size tyre you fitted. cheers
  13. For anyone that is interested, I just looked at the spare wheel area. There is a PVC tyre cover, that is a neat fit around the standard 19inch bridgestone combination. Therefore, this cover will not fit over any tyre that is larger, and the Cooper ST is 20mm larger for the 245/70/17 and 40mm for the 265/70/17. I'm pretty sure the new wheel/tyre will still fit without the cover, so I am going to jump in and oder the tyres today. I think then what I will do, once I have the setup, is do some creative mod to the cover, so that it still at least protects from underneath, and from the front, assuming any bedri that may hit the tyre, will hit the front. I'll take some pics of the surgery if anyone is interested. I'm going the 265 tyre, and will get approx extra 20mm ground clearance, and I'm punting, based on the calc's I have done, that the speedo will just about be perfect.
  14. Hey, also, does anyone even know how much space we have around the spare wheel. I'm not sure now if a cooper ST will fit in the spare tyre area. If not, that blows a hole in that tyre choice.
  15. ooops, I forgot to mention, I have the altitude, without the auto close feature
  16. Hi again all. Does the grande have the auto close feature for the sunroof, and if so, is this a dealer program thing that I can get done. I have left my roof open a few times, but got away with it so far. Thanks
  17. Hi again all. Apologies for another tyre thread, I'll accept my punishment as dished out. I have an altitude with 42k on the stock 19 inch Bridgestones (Dueler HL (d400). They are shagged. I got cheap a set of 17inch Kluger alloys (X5) with all but brand new stock Dunlop Grandtrec tyres. ( if anyone wants to make an offer, let me know, pics can be taken) I thinking seriously about putting Cooper ST's on the 17 inch as I want to do a trip to lake Eyre with my camper trailer. As i can hear the critic's already, I know the Kluger isnt serious 4wd, nor do I plan on serious 4wd. But I also know the best upgrade would be a better set of tyres. has anyone put AT's on a Kluger instead of the Highway tires ive been reading about on the other threads. I also plan to put Highway tires back on the 19 inch for the highway use (the majortiy) and change wheels whe I plan a trip with the camper. Ive researched a fair bit with tires, I'm aware of the diameter difference etc. Just wondering what other people's experience with this is??? Thanks all in advance Marty
  18. Hi all, I'm new to this club, but have had my Kluger Altitude for exactly 1 year, just paid the rego, haha Generally, I love this car. Have a few questions I'm hoping to get a hand with. Ive had a quick search and didnt see anything, so hoping I'm not wasting everyone's time. 1. The power outlets only work with the ignition on or accessory. How do I leave my Engal fridge in the car going for a few hours, and lock the car at the same time?? 2. The seat belt warning thing drives me nuts. Often if I put my bag on the passenger seat it thinks someone is sitting there, aarrgggggg. Hoping there is a plug to disconnect. 3. Ive done 41500 klms in a year, and the 19" tyres are now shagged. I want to replace with more of an AT type tyre, but there does not appear to be many options. I will search and read more here before i ask anymore stupid questions. 4. The illumination of the A/C button on the dash is way too dull, and I fumble with that during the day, ok in the dark obviously. Otherwise, all good, hope everyone is as happy as I. Cheers for now
