  1. Just about anything after market WILL be better than stock (assuming it wasnt made by a monkey)

    Nuff said.

    gibbon-2x2copy.jpg

Don't know about CES fitter but certainly has some sort of resemblance of Sportivo Rice after a hard night on the turps :lol::lol: (just needs slightly more red cheeks :P )

Lmao just taking the **** silva hahaha, nice to see people still have a sense of humour in here.

On a serious note i'll keep this thread going a tad and maybe morph it a bit. A mate who own's a yellow S15 Jap Spec Silvia had a CES exhaust system (+headers I think?) fitted to it. I think that my be a better example that CES 'do' know what they're doing as he'd had some insane increase like 40kw or something! I think the main problem is people really don't want to spend big bucks on minimal gains on a car that is a nippy little street car. Eg: $5000 poured into my mates S15 for engine mods turned it into an instant 12 second car! And now he's cracking 11's with a computer upgrade. $5000 into our cars gets about a 30kw increase adding it up. Want power? Go turbo or S/C really (or convert and get big a55 cubes behind you heh).

I've said it before and I'll say it again though, 'everyone is different'

Silva...you and I contrast against each other as an example because we see different things in our cars. You wanted more power out of the motor, whereas I'm already happy with the power and want to trick up the handling. I think that is the beauty of modding cars, as there is always an uneven cascaded pattern of tastes that people can observe. Being unique.

  2. Maybe able to also get some of the Canberra Rolla Club guys interested as well, once you have a date I will post it on the forum and see if we get some takers.

    G'day maaaate!

Sorry the ACT9's couldn't make it to the last Rolla Club meet, I'll be honest it would send a shiver up my spine to see some old school pristine corolla's/celica's etc! Keep posting mate!

  3. agreed Lucio

man this argument never fails to trip me out...

a CES exhaust is a piece of pipe (stainless steel mind you) bent to the the ZZE chassis along with a high flow muffler (also stainless), no matter how brilliant this system is, it can only do so much for the N/A 2zz. Just about anything after market WILL be better than stock (assuming it wasnt made by a monkey) so i really don't think there is much of an argument regarding exhaust systems with these cars while N/A, with exception to perhaps pipe diameter and header setout. Even the differences here are negligable i bet. Personally, i would say in the end it comes down to what you want to spend and what level of "polish" you want on your mods.

And the 1/4...stripping is for sissies, to get real cred, you need to go street trim.

To get real cred you take one 2JZ motor, add two T4 turbos, then.....................................lol

  4. Didn't you have a whole bunch of fuel in your car when you did that run too bill? lmao

LOL ... yes so not only am i a kebab loving fello which mean i have a good 25+kg's on everyone :P :P :P but i ran with 45L of fuel .... wasnt the smartest thing ... LOL

On the note of why pick 1/4 times i would think this was the only measure we can actually perform from state to state as i dont think there are circuits in every state which are duplicates of each other so it really isnt possible to compare lap times unless u travel from state to state proving ur ride .... where as 1/4 mile is 1/4 mile where ever u go

Kebabs can be healthy though uleh! Lol. Dude, it's just cause you're tall. It's not like you look like pavarotti man (heh...hehehehehehe...'pavarotti' hahahaha). I've seen pics of you, you tall b@st@rd lol. I can forsee a 14.5 somehow my friend with a near empty fuel tank and weight reduction :) maybe more.

  5. it all depands on the budget you have... you can get a reasonable set from anywhere between $1000 to $4000...

You want some Wang Dylan? lmao

ok ok I'll be serious now...

Volks...wow...what great rims. I know that there are more out there that are just as good...but wow. TE37's in 16, 17 or even 18 (for a bit of street cred) look narly as on our cars, as proved by stockvvti.

  6. i agree with tom, i think im a reasonably good driver and never really push it that hard, but i will admit my little moment with tom scared me slightly.

Rob in ACT P-platers can drive whatever they like at whatever speed they like.

i call for more advanced driver training. and manufacturers and car salesman as well as the government to get behind this and support it. would make things safer imo

It was insurance. That's right. Not in relation what you can drive, but insurance. My bad man.

  7. ;) I'm surprised the 1/4 mile junkies here haven't gone into basic weight reduction before.

BTW - Back seat is very easily removed :D

yeah...brian didn't have a back seat for while when he was doing track work.

Gave up one type of action for another type of action...BAAAHAHAHAHA

  8. I've seen it myself mate (no hating no hating!! lol I know you two aren't happy panda's with each other! not trying to hate just saying! lol)

I think he engaged on a different path though. He's done some weight modification work too actually come to think of it, so I guess that paid off.

northy, bill, dylan, dan.........rip everything out of you cars and give them another run! hahaha

we'll see those results in a couple of weeks :ph34r::ph34r::ph34r::ph34r::ph34r:

Bill's, Dave's and My times were all done in street trim too. The low weight game is just about to start... :)

Awesomeeeeeeeeeeee Dylan. Pffft HAH...Clio's...maaahahahahaha (except Les's 172, which is a mad little beast as I'm told by Jase)

    Nelson likes it lol
