  1. Yeh you're in the right spot.

Nice ride mate, good to see another black Aurion on the forums :D

Hey Benji, thanks i'm surprised there aren't more

Pretty sure there's a few of em, just saying it's nice to see another one, not like a 2nd one, lol. Bit confusing.

Me and me mates are looking at road-tripping it to Sydney for New Years and if so I'd be taking me Aurion, so I reckon I'd probably see a few hot Toyota's around up there :)

  2. Bit late now, but I recently went through a phone dilemma. I was in phases of "Yeh iphone would be awesome, is there any other phone that can do so much"

I finally found the Samsung Galaxy S and I'm the first to admit it's not perfect but a good alternative to the iphone.

    My reasoning behind this was:

Coming from nokia's all my life I want something with a battery that can last (I can also upgrade the battery if I so choose)

I wasn't fussed about the camera having no flash, it's a rather decent camera and if I wanted some decent photo's I'd use an actual camera

The AMOLED screen seemed like a good thing to have

And my recent dealings with Samsung have all been excellent.

So the Galaxy S was my choice as it suited my wants and needs, the iphone and other phones (smart phones) are good phones but each one has slightly different pro's and con's which work for all different types of people. Like cars, the product (in this case phone) must tick all the boxes you set for it.

In conclusion once I made my decision I've never looked back, love me phone because I did my research and found the perfect phone for me.

  3. All good fellas. Perfectly understandable! Hope everyone has a merry christmas and a happy new year too!

And to the people who are free tonight....

8pm @ Wash Me Clean 99-101 Ballarat Rd, Maidstone tonight.

spread the word, everyone is welcome. Please no hooning or reving or loud music as there are houses on either side of this place.

Might go on a cruise to sydney road after for kebabs if everyone is keen! But cause christmas is around the corner and the weather seems decent for that period, a nice clean of our rides is in order!

Let me know if your going to make it here or if you got my number drop me a msg. Ill be checking my account all day as well.

New members/newcomers, dont hesitate to introduce yourself!

Hope to see you all there!

Rats, I'd love to go (newbie) but have a Christmas do. Wouldn't mind a cruise to Melbourne though. I'll have to wait for the next meet.

Rather looking forward to getting involved in this awesome community :D

  4. *what do people here feel about japanese styling, which is admittedly widely typified as a bit bland, compared with european styling?

Couldn't help but laugh at this. Only because for a period of time my cousin (Australian) was designing the Aurion Interior prior to the model being released :)

And to answer the rest of the question I actually find the European cars (except for the Italian's) to be rather bland - they just don't do it for me. Furthermore I'm quite pleased with the styling of my Aurion, and a few other models as well :D

  5. In the style of the stupid thread I make this statment (as there would be no more appropriate place to post it)

I have recently purchased a copy of GT5 and found it to be a love-hate feeling with the game. When Polophony announced they'd have a huge amount of cars I was expecting to see at least one of the Aurion models to race around. Sadly I was wrong. Great game with my wheels and pedals setup and surround sound however.

Mind you I'm not trying to sell the game, just expressing my views on it (somewhat)

  6. Here's just a few pics of my ride prior to getting a tint done. In the pics the car has an (unable to see) aftermarket head unit which still runs off the steering wheel controls and does the job nicely. Also have a set of Destino Claw Chrome 18x8 mags with Hankook Ventus V8 RS tyres. Currently (will try to find some pics) also have a 35% tint which goes very well with the whole gothic look of the car. Have a few plans for the future but they will come after I've paid more of the house off.

  7. What fuel you use: BP unleaded 91

How many Km's you get to a tank: 600-700 depending on driving style and throttle control [or lack of ;) ]

What your Avg 100km/L is: Between 8.1 and 8.5 (if I thrash it then I see ~9.5)

What sort of driving is this based on: About 90% of constant highway driving at 100km/h with the other 10% driving around the suburbs. When I worked in Melbourne the daily commute from Bendigo was on the freeway at 110km/h for the most part and average was 7.3 although on one tank I had 6.5 (I was stoked). Since then my commute is now an hour drive and have changed wheels and tyres since.

Been very happy with fuel usage rates even when thrashing it, have tried higher octane for a about 6 months but was seeing higher fuel usage and experienced no recognisable power difference so changed to the cheaper stuff.

  8. Hey guys,

I'm Benji and I drive a Black 2008 Aurion Touring

Thought I'd join this site as it has good info for toyota owners.

I've loved me car since I bought it and done a couple of simple things to it - nice dark tint, gothic mags (being black the car pulls off the gothic look nicely) and aftermarket head-unit.

Looking forward to being a member of this forum and hoping to learn as much as I can take in
