  1. 8 weeks for a friggin Rim Job...

You waited 8 weeks for a rim job

Was my first Rim Job, and it was... Very satisfying, worth the wait lol

lol i could do it for free however i make no guarantee's in regards to paint cracking...

Camo's Body Works (or something similar) roll guards... not sure how much a quarter... can also flare for $100 a quarter... I think they're out Tingalpa or Capalaba way - somewhere over the Eastsiiiieeeede...

  2. jesus. This guy is the biggest doosh.

who would want to take that on the track, id sooner shoot myself than be caught dead behind its wheel.

(ill steal its seats though ^_^)

wow? really? the EP3R is a great civic... granted the guy doesn't really know what he's on about but I understand what he is trying to say...

V-Tec is Honda's version of Variable Valve Timing (VVT)... same overall concept, slightly different results, and how he put it was a very non-technical, confusing, and somewhat neanderthal way of explaining it to the point where he sounds daft...

for a FWD car they are quite well suited to track use with a very good balance of both handling, power to weight, and power in general for a N/A car... I'd happily own and drive one... they are practical as an everyday car, and a car u could drive to the track and have some fun in... I'd buy one...

  3. Cheers, we'll have to have a race one day. Whoa, whoa... on Mario Kart!

LOL - i have to admit that I like this toned down version of urself...

U'll have to excuse us sometimes... we get alot of wannabe racers in here shooting their mouths off... however having acting like u have a pole up ur ***** can lead others to believe that u are a wannabe racer... and people will never cease to call ***** as ***** if its brown, and smells funny...

    still in any event... LOL...

  4. no need to pay dude, lol... just make sure there's something in it for them...

they get to record a documentary style video showing the difference between different car styles and get to see some cool *****, and we get to have them grace us with our presence...

all forums and clubs have approved of this, and any other events are public so no approval required...

just waiting on them to let us know when they are good to go and its as good as done...

  5. my exhaust guys (although they have a reputation for being dodgy i still stand by them) always spray all welds with rust resistant paint to prevent any exposed metal from rusting... i reckon it LOOKS like ***** but I understand why and this alone is the reason I go back there... if an exhaust tests over 96DB they will modify it and won't let it leave the shop...

they do the right thing and this is the first time i've had a problem out of 7 cars I've taken to them... and they fixed it straight away... they even told me that I didn't need to fix my flex pipe even tho it was cracked, and that in itself made me want to do it because they were trying to keep my costs down...

I'm also a firm believer in letting ppl rectify their mistakes and good for u for giving them a chance, now its up to them to make sure they do you right...

  6. lol - i know about 4 languages badly - japanese, french, italian and spanish... and a little german... enough to know when they are swearing and cursing about me in their own language so I don't know... lol...

I'm unaware of this Auscam cruise..

    give me details lol :P

  7. took it back to Rite Price to have the exhaust fixed after they upgraded it...

turns out I have a bit of a freak motor and was generating enough back pressure through a 2" system to blow the baffles out of the muffler so now I have a top of the line, hand packed, lukey muffler and a resonator to get rid of the rasp all for free :D

its a lot more tame but gives a lot more power, and the initial upgrade was a ***** load extra power...

bring on extractors, turbo and internals RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWR!!!!!!!!

  8. i'd put my money on the corolla sportivo based on the fact that the tyres were worn and they XR5 had newer tyres... worn tyres = like racing slicks = less road resistance and therefore providing the conditions aren't wet - better in a straight line... and while both have lag while either waiting for turbo lag or lift to engage - lift engages much later and much more fiercely and spikes faster than the turbo in the XR5 does even tho the turbo offers more power overall - up to 80km/h from lights to lights my money would be on the sportivo - much easier to drive...

honestly u didn't really achieve any great fetes in driver skill - it was all the car...

  9. On a good note - does anyone have any objections to Moog and Marty from Mighty Car Mods attending one of our Thursday night meets?

    srsly?

seriously dude - spoke to Moog today... i told them how much is on week to week in Brisbane and he said they were keen to get up here sometime... will coordinate between them and the JDMST meet but they'd be attending a TOCAU meet also as this is one of the things I mentioned happened on a weekly basis... could be some good cover for the forum - or just make us look MAAAAAAAAAD! because we're on MCM... lol...

  10. Firstly, Hello everyone :)

This thread is to see if the brissy group are interested in a weekend meet once a month.

Also, discussions about where the appropriate meet locations could be, eg. One of the many parks in the city, Wellington Point or a location at the gold coast which could be a combined cruise, or we could dedicate it to a monthly cruise.

I tried to get this running before the Annual meet however people were stressed which is a given when organising such an event. My extended thankyou to all of those who helped out for organising that.

So tell me forum, what's your opinion?

    Love Michael :D

Lol - my opinion is that you shouldn't have put "Love Michael :D" at the end :P

  11. that is some pretty shocking work there...

what muffler are you running? I just had to get my muffler replaced this morning because it was overpacked and the baffle set up in the middle meant that it would rattle under load and it is a common problem with mid range Lukey mufflers and twin cam engines...

After an hour and a half, a new muffler, a new twin tip and a resonator it was fixed and running nice... my engine puts out alot of back pressure which was enough to melt the excess packing inside and blast one of the baffles free and loosen the rest... I was upgraded to apparently one of the best street legal Lukey's u can get (for free) and they apologized profusely to me...

They said that the rattle could be something as basic as a rock that flicks up into ur muffler through to baffles coming loose... some mufflers have baffle configurations inside that are difficult to access and u can end up with something in there and no way to get it out... they cut mine open to see the issue tho and found that they're awesome exhaust was pushing so much back pressure down it destroyed the inside of the muffler...

If u still have the problem after the ****ty welding gets fixed and the other stuff, I'd be looking at getting another muffler... or a better one preferably...

  12. as long as you get a 4A-GE from that year model range you will be fine... they all pretty much bolt in from what I can gather and have been told (i could be wrong), but engines are configured slightly differently from model to model on occasion to accommodate more accessories on later models, and features, or even just to improve the functionality of the motor and vehicle in general...

the 4A is a 1.6L so you would be going back in capacity, but they are uber powerful, and later on you can play with them as far as cams, and better internals... just remember though if you go this route you want the 4A-GE, not the 4A-FE...

I agree with the V6 Corolla thing... that is the reason I was going to try and do it, but it just wasn't viable :(

Wheels I'm running some CCS (Cheap Chinese *****) look alike 17" 5 spoke things with a bit of lip... nothing fancy... and possibly too fat a profile tyre but I don't care... my wheels are hooker wheels - they've been on many different cars now, i just think they look purrrdy... :P

If you don't wanna go ridiculously low and keep some ride quality I know of some Low King Springs going cheap that will fit your model and I can put you onto the guy... he's on this forum...
