  1. just in reference to a certain non-financial member that flamed the amount of "illegal" and "plaguristic" links on this forum (which I am yet to witness) in retort to having a hissy fit at the fact he couldn't sell his vehicle without being a financial member of the forum / club, and further to this point that it was spelt out quite clearly in front of him and he failed to realise this and got even more annoyed because of his own ignorance and stupidity :)

  2. well i was kinda close... lol... i said it was probably someone's house burning down... then again i said it could have been alot of things...

Good to meet ya Ham... and I too would be in for a Saturday night meet up once a month or every so often... just as long as its a nite we don't have the kidleewee... perhaps grab a bite somewhere, and hard park at a foreign, strange new car park... boldly going where no Brisbane TOCAU meet has gone before?

  3. i've heard of someone in Brisbane that did this... older model volvo and no stuff hanging outta the bonnet... but basically he used a custom cross member and had his engine mounts sit lower in the sub-frame so that the engine sat lower and just gave the bonnet a little bit of subtle fabricating to allow for the supercharger (not a blower with dual tunnel ram like that set up). I've had the same dream ever since i heard of it... but as I didn't see the other one in the flesh I've had no confirmation it can be done.. UNTIL NOW!!!!

I'm with ya... I wanna do this type of project too... lol... fully sick volvo ftw!

  4. hey dude (Zeinheiger), as per our PM's -

just gonna put the URL's in... ppl are probably sick of seeing me post %7Boption%7D links lol...

be warned most are at night, but several of those are with good light... others not so good...

wasn't able to track down any photos online of my wheels, however I have plenty of decent pics of the wheels from when I was painting the calipers...

Wheel specs are 17" x 7" - running 205/40/ZR17 Lexani tyres if this is of any help...

some of the last photos on the list are not at desired height or with the mags on but they're to try and make it easier for you to do the body... please don't sketch it at 4wd height on stockies without painted calipers :P - LOL

    Cheers

  5. That 3rd mod looks real nice DJ ;) dunno if i could handle a s/c just yet. And i look forward to hearing yours Steven :D i would have listed mine but as i am yet to get the car, it's hard to tell. Although I'm certain it will be the audio system, i have this thing for bass :3

what stereo system does it have in it / are you putting in it?

  6. well... i just did it... used a shammy to pack out the pliars and not damage the knob... guess what i found... a dirty great big glob of effing super glue... no wonder I couldn't move it... only problem is now that the thread on my knob is too small... so seeing as its just a plate with a bolt welded to the back and then rivetted into countersunk holes on the very slim outter wall of the piston, I think this is gonna be dead in the water... need to increas the hole about 1mm either side so might try and retap the welded bolt and see how that plays out... but i may have to cave and buy another gearknob if i want something cool... really sad because I want my piston head as a gear shifter... :(

  7. Had a look in the previous threads section and found nothing so if I'm doubling up sorry, but has anyone removed the gear knob from this series and if so is there a trick to removing it? I'm having no luck ATM and with every other car ive owned u just twist it anti clockwise and it unwinds. Unless the previous owner has been a complete psycho and done it up uber tight or superglued the thread or there's some kind of a reverse thread lock nut im not aware of I'm stumped. Sorry for the stupid question Ppl but it's got me beat.

  8. My figures vary all the time in the Sportivo, normal driving to work and back and a trip up north got me 680kms but more spirited driving gets me around 350kms...

So 700 in a 1.5 Yaris would be very do-able, but not in the auto that you've got... I'd say that figure it more from a manual model...

    agreed...

Automatic boxes cause the engine to chew fuel like you wouldn't believe... they add weight, the fact that if you want to change down a gear you have to bury ur foot instead of just depressing the clutch and sliding the shifter...

my partner owned a 2008 Yaris YR manual and without running the tank dry around town we would easily get about 540 - 550km, and thats also in the 1.3L model which you had to drive like a stabbed rat just to make it go anywhere... slightly bigger engine i could honestly see some fuel consumtion improvement so unless they've only quoted the figures in general for the manual model, I'd say it comes down to driving style... our figures were aproximately 6.1L / 100km highway and 6.5L - 6.8L / 100km around town...

  9. has been a busy week...

Saturday - Mick.Wheelz put my lows and superlows on...

    from this

    new014.jpg

    to this

    new017.jpg

end result - looks great but front passenger side OEM Toyota strut (16 years old) had collapsed - solution?

Monday - Purchased some new KYB Excel-G front shocks (left and right) and had enough time before the sun went down to install the passenger side so I could at least drive my son to school in the morning in my car...

    new021.jpg

Tuesday - Got the other shockie installed after returning from the school run...

    later that day this arrived...

    15 mins later

  10. hmmmm... let me think

    - ***** customers at work that wanna talk ***** to the cashier about the manager - ME - because we're busy and they have to wait a little longer to get their food because someone eff-wad placed a $200 order at the drive-thru window (but then get jarred up as I have a headseat with a mic and can hear and talk to the customer)

    - roadworks - EFFING ROADWORKS... especially on the gateway when i'm paying $4 just about each way and don't get anywhere any faster

    - being sick and run-down and going 18 months without holidays... 11 weeks and 2 days away - i can almost smell it!
