  1. I own a ZR6. Personally i like it better as it has a full body kit and looks more like a BIG AUSSIE 6. The pressara is only good if you want a "cheaper" lexus. It comes down to, do you want full luxury or sporty luxury? Otherwise toyota's are a good reliable car the the sunroof seals are fine.

ZR6 has more balls than the Presara! If you want audio streaming don't get the Sat Nav - it only has the 3.5mm plug.

I don't care so I've got Sat Nav (so it ends up with the same sound system as the Presara).

  2. I just recently drove from Bairnsdale to Sydney via Cooma & Canberra - pretty hilly but with lots of freeway driving and averaged 8.5 for the whole trip. At one stage the Average reading was 7.0 l/100ks, but I couldn't repeat that on the way back due to it being very windy.

2011 ZR6 - stock standard but with 240kpa in the tyres. I've had 7.4 & 7.2 previously but the above figures were 2 up and a boot full of gear, plus a grand daughter seat in the back!

  3. Hi

I bought a brand new Yaris, YRS about 2 months back. I didn't check everything when i bought it. But after two months i found some corrosions in my engine bay. When i took it to the dealer, he said it is very common in Yaris and he applied a protective coating and spray painted the corroded area.

    1. Is it a common failure in Yaris ?

    2. What can i ask dealer to do for giving me a brand new car with corrosions ?

    3. Is ther any future effects due to those corrosions ?

My wife has a YRX sedan and it has the same rust on the engine mounts. It will never get any worse than what it is now. Nothing to worry about.

  4. I read in the '07_NCF' file that the US 2GR-FE spark plugs have a life (expectancy?) of 120,000 miles or 193,000 Kms, yet according to the Aurion maintenance handbook, they are changed every 90,000 kms. Is this just erring on the right side or getting us owners to fork out more $$?

Things like that are usually due to environmental differences like fuel. I can't say for sure in this case.

There is nothing stopping you from providing your own from the USA ...

They are using the same Denso FK20HR11 plugs. The same doco also says the engine can use anything from 87 octane & we use 91 minimum.

  6. Eaglemist , do you have a sat nav unit in yours ? . they are a high end unit.the run of the mill aurion units are not so (high end) the 6720 nokias are a known issue unit with most of the fujitsu audio blueooths. To the point customers will pair them , they will pair ok and may make and recieve a few calls then drop out and not re-pair and stay that way for days then suddenly re connect out of the blue. F-10 had purchased the problem phones and tested them. i inform people not to update to that model for this reason if they have the affected audio unit.

Yes - it's the Sat Nav. Worked in my wife's Yaris though - that has the same 6 stacker as the 'normal' Aurion but without the reverse camera.

  7. Does anyone know if the wiring loom includes the +12 volts for caravans? I found the blue wire for the electric brakes and an orange wire that may be the 12 volt feed but it has a tag on it that says to 'leave it alone' if your car is after 2007, which mine is (Feb 2011).

Any assistance would be appreciated. The dealer left no instructions re the wiring at all.
