Hi everyone! Today I increased the glass breakage sensitivity because factory settings are way to low. Now if a hit the windshield, a pillar, a door or the bumper, it will BEEEEP once. A harder punch and it'll screaaaaammmm (I hate that siren, it has a volume so low...). Let´s see how it goes, if it is too sensible i´ll turn back the knob. Cheeers AB

Kenshin: the engine is produced in Brazil, It's supposed to be the same one you have, but..... The pins we have wired are 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 12 and 16 and in theory the protocol should be ISO9141-2. When we connected the scanner, the computer did not recognize anything connected to the port. I guess is due to the different pins we have. An idea was to build an interface to have your pinout in order to have link. Dealerships have their scanners and i dont believe they had to adapt those....<_< The project is in stand-by till we have new ideas. Cheers AB

Hi there, At least for the 1ZZFE engines, the protocol and the pinout are different than OBDII and its not a complete standard so that's why it doesn't work. So we gave up. You have to rewire everything in order to have link and then to test the protocols (if they work) I even asked Toyota about the protocol and the pinout of the connector and they refused to give that information. In a couple of days i have to go to the dealership, and I'll ask there what scanner they use, may be I can get some useful information Cheers AB

I was in a terrible car crash in 1997 in a veeery old car, the ones that have static seat belts, not inertial. That was a Renault 12 1978, all iron, all metal, no airbags, no nothing. A couple of weeks after, I was still in pain due to the impact bruises with that seat belt. And I survived because of that! Otherwise I would have gone across the windshield. So, even that seatbelt was safer than nothing and I'm grateful for that. Now, what happened to you could have happened in any other brand. Think of this, if seatbelts are dangerous, pregnant women wouldn't get allowed to be in a car. And they are perfectly safe, always using it correctly. Mate, it's unfortunate what happened to you, but you're alive and that's what counts. See yaa AB

Yeah! But you know, in Uruguay which is next to Argentina, the dealerships ask the users to do the servicing every 5000km, so that's why it didn't sound strange! Cheers AB PD: BTW, does someone know where Argentina is???

MMmmm, 5000km? <_< Here in southamerica we have to service it every 10000km (says Toyota), sparkplugs every 40000km and ATF every 40000km. It is the same engine, a 1ZZFE. Why Toyota has different service programs? Cheers AB

Hello... Well, Today after the monthly bath, I waxed her till my arms fell off. After that, I fixed all the stone chips and the parking chips on the rear bumper (a gift from the previous owner). Hi, this is a good thread to start posting. Well, here goes my list: - Driving at the speed limit, the one behind you will turn on the high beams to make you go faster - When you put the turning lights to change lanes to an empty spot or to take an exit, who is a little behind right next to you will accelerate to have that spot for him - Being stopped in a red light, when you start if your front bumper is 1 meter ahead of the one in the other lane, he will accelerate until he completely passes you... even though he has to full stop in the next corner in a red light - Traveling during the night, if another car coming in the opposite direction has the high beams on, you ask to turn them off for a moment. But the $&$#&/ guy turns them on again when he is 10mts in front of you leaving you BLIND! (that gets me so upset) - Driving with the car shining, so nicely, there is always someone going through the dirt as fast as he can in order to splash it to your pain job... - "Beautiful" people that park their expensive cars blocking the wheelchair ramps - Tailgaters - Tailgaters under heavy rain - Tailgaters that when they get the chance to overtake you using the left lane (right lane in AUS), they cut you dowm! - Road rage And the lists goes on and on, and on, and on.... Well you know, distance, can't go to the meets, time zone made it sometimes complicated. Also I became a Gold Member in UK. Let me tell you something about my history with Toyota: My first one a '93 Corolla Liftback, unfortunately stolen a a couple of kids! Next car a '98 Corona d-turbo, ahhhh, what a car... bought it with 32k in the odometer and sold it 6 years later with more than 185k after driving all around the country, mostly the Patagonia. Now, a own a '07 Corolla Se-G Automatic, the reason I joined Club Toyota Argentina recently created.
