Lol I'm broke as a joke now buddy

the rubber seal was originally on the sideskirts which were oem from toyota (which is what the levin owners would come stock with). only reason why ascent and conquest owners would need to drill holes for the sideskirts is because the ascent and conquest don't have the side clips which the levin has. the levin sideskirts are a tad "heavy" so I don't think 3M double sided tape would be strong enough to hold the skirts up flush enough without having some sort of support at the back and it would most likely lose its stickiness after some time. I'm just going to drill. The guy who I bought the skirts off said he didn't even need to take off the wheels when he drilled the holes he used for his rivets, which is rather odd. must have been majorly angled.

haha I did kind of say that I would take my time modding the car. It never happens! :(
same 'ere dude.. same 'ere... lol

now we need a deafening soundclip :)

hrmm.. i'm starting to think that drilling into the wheel arch to allow for screws would be the better option. just not too sure what sized drill bit and screws i should be getting. or what kind of drill for that matter.
-
@ arc: looking at the manufacturer site atm but not sure which sikaflex i should be looking at lol
@ jeff: hmmm.. i'll have a look at that too.

damn man that sux. rear skirt would have been sick!
anyways.. got the sideskirts fitted in but now i got the problem with the skirts not holding completely. i know some ascent owners who have fitted sideskirts on successfully have drilled holes in to the rear wheel arcs but would then require the removal of the 2 rear wheels. is there any other way to get them to mount and sit more flush without the need to drill any holes?
the guy i bought the skirts from said he used rivets, but i assume that would also require drilling holes? 3M dbl sided tape doesnt seem to help..
edit: this is how it's looking at the moment - you can see the side towards the back, the skirts aren't sitting flush at all due to the ascent not having the clippings on the car as the levins do.

Yeah he's got an Audi R8 coming
Now Pete, as with expecting Tom in a batman suit, I will now expect to see u in an ironman suit

Hmmm I was tempted to use the tint film, but would be a bit worried getting pulled over for them.
-
Just give me your camera Pete (dwee) ;)
Lol thanks Pete (pezzie). I saw the plugs under my car, but how do I go about removing them? Flathead and some muscles?
if it was johnnieboi. muscles for sure... i've seen him rip stuff from under his car that actually scared me :P
It's all calm and composure when it comes to my car. Gotta be gentle with her. I leave the muscles for the gym.

Lol thanks Pete (pezzie). I saw the plugs under my car, but how do I go about removing them? Flathead and some muscles? The guy I bought the skirts from gave me his extra ones he bought (about 8 of them) and I can also use some of the existing ones too if needed.
I heard there's some screws too that I need to do too in the front wheel arch and that some ppl drilled a hole in the rear wheel arch to secure at the back? Hmm don't feel comfortable drilling into the rear wheel arch.
Anyways I picked up the skirts from the painters and unfortunately the rubber seals that were on the skirts could not be saved during the ovening process. I didn't want to wait to order them from Toyota (for a ridiculous price too) so I bought some weather stripping foam rubber tape from Autobarn (same stuff i used for the rear spoiler) and DIY'ed the seals myself. Pretty much does the same thing.

Welcome buddy and nice choice of car to start modding up ;)

Dropped the sideskirts in this morning to get painted, anticipating to have them done by tomorrow at the earliest, but got finished today at lunch time. Picked them up and they're all good :) now I need to figure out how to fit them on to my car
Oh an clif, I'll get around to that later lol. Want to finish bodying up my car first :)

so i finally got the skirt fitted properly with rivets installed in the rear wheel arches - two on each side.
the following pic only has 1 rivet installed in the sideskirt/wheel arch but even with just the 1, it held really securely (drove it around a fair bit with just the 1 rivet in each side)... however, i did end up installing a second one on each side under the first ones. then i sealed them up with "Loctite" sealant for extra security..
after 2 rivets + loctite sealant:
