  2. http://www.themotorreport.com.au/56737/toyota-kluger-altitude-back-again Toyota's special-edition Kluger Altitude is back in showrooms this month, following its appearance in November last year. Based on the KX-R model, Toyota says it has added more than $9000 in extra value for the Altitude model, available in two- and all-wheel-drive form. Priced at $1300 more than the KX-R, the Altitude's additional features include satellite navigation and a rear entertainment package, along with a tilt-and-slide moonroof. The wheels have also been upgraded from 17- to 19-inch alloys, and you'll also find black roof rails, front fog lights and Altitude badging. The 6.1-inch display and satellite navigation system includes traffic updates and 3D mapping, while audio features include Bluetooth handsfree calling and audio streaming, USB and iPod connectivity, SD memory card slot and SMS message compatibility. There's four exterior colours, and a black fabric interior trim. Standard safety features in KX-R and Altitude form include seven airbags, including full-length side curtain-shield airbags and a driver's knee airbag. Also standard are Toyota Driver Assist Technology, including vehicle stability control, traction control, Hill-start Assist Control and, on the all-wheel drive model only, Downhill Assist Control. Like the KX-R, the Altitude is powered by a 201kW/337Nm 3.5 litre V6 petrol engine mated to a five-speed automatic transmission. 3. Hey DHOUS, We looked at the Santa Fe prior to settling on the Kluger. Although Santa Fe is a nice car, the Mrs has the last say. We have 2 young kids that has be in the 2nd row and when we are out with our parents, Mrs will be the one climbing in/out of the last row. I terms of practicality in our situation, Kluger wins hands down being spacious and good views from 3rd row windows. Santa Fe will win with new technology on offer and definitely value for money. It being a new model, there are few issues With their SatNav yet to be resolved, ie Suna Traffic will not decode or warn of hold ups. It's not the end of the world, Hyundai will fix the issue but owners are frustrated because they paid $45 or $50k fot their Elite / Highlander and getting a defective SatNav. Have a read on whirlpool.
  4. If you wait another 6 to 8 months, you should be able to get very good deal on the kluger, I think the new model will launch around end of Feb next year, similar to the timeline for Rav this year. They will be made in US as oppose to Japan. Having said that it will be first variant of the new model, engine is the same v6 but with 6 speed transmission. There may be some niggling or glitch usually with brand new model, this will take time for Toyota resolve. I took delivery of a 2013 model about 2 weeks ago, the incentive and discount my lease company offered was very good. I don't think I could get the same if I wait for new model next year. Being Toyota, they hold their resale value and will make a small profit when I sell it. I'm loving it so far, it's a great car and so glad we got rid of the Outlander.
