  1. Hey bud, im quite the noob when it comes to car mods however i have a qn regarding your CAI. Apparently the injen CAI is perfect for the pre-facelift. So my qn is since both yours and mine are facelift models, how was the installation process? needing to cut.mod anything esle for fitment. One of your posts shows an image of a CAI with a black hose connected midway on the chrome pipe.... Whats that for.?  Also did you get a check engine light alert (apparently many posts on the forum suggest this is happens)? Finally if you purchased yours brand new, could I ask where from? These days its first come first serve for CAI and strut bars on places like gumtree n ebay. Personally im tossing between injen, simota and CES.

Hey mate, didn't need to cut anything. I found the injen pod didn't sit far enough back on mine so I used a smaller pod but other then that, it fits nice (pod sits just under the head light).

The hose is for a smaller intake resonator used on the US model 2ZZ corollas. I used it because I had nothing to block the gromit with but I blocked the hose anyway to stop a leak.

No check engine lights or anything. Did an ECU reset with no issues either. I got mine from eBay when the dollar was a little better. I'd recommend Injen, CES, AEM and TRD (if you can find one). I hear simota are pretty laggy down low. I have no issues with Injen so far and have had it for nearly a year.
