  1. I am having the same problem with my 2005 Camry Ateva. I recently purchased the car with 134000k on it from a Toyota dealer and it had the problem when I got it, I didn't realize it then though. It has been back 5 or six times, they have replaced (what they called the control unit) I have been told and I could tell it is located up on the right drivers side from the material left on the carpet. They also replaced the actuator in the drivers door but the problem is still there as before. I'm not sure if it was in fact the Intergration Relay as in your case? Its driving me nuts.
  2. I'm guessing the main source for another unit would be a Toyota wrecker? Yes I would prefer to keep it OEM, or at least a unit that will match up with my current set up (black facia) One feature that would be very useful is the ability to bluetooth my phone, the other feature I would like is USB input.
  3. The quicker the vehicle gets mobile and drives under light load the better. Apart from 20 to 30 seconds which we should all allow before driving off the sooner you begin driving the better. My main concern about the excessive time when the engine is at or around 2000 to 1200 rpm is driveline shock when engaging a gear. (automatic)
  4. My Camry, not had it long idles at around 2000-1800 rpm when dead cold and takes a good few minutes to drop down. Dealer says this is normal for this model, can anyone confirm? Camry Ateva 12/2005 ACV36R / Engine: 4Cyl 2.4 2AZ-FE Pete
  5. Mechanic and Automatic transmission specialist (Self employed for over 30 years) Now semi-retired and working in sales. I have a Camry because of there reliability and reputation for being an all round solid car. Something I can confirm through my experience in the service/repair industry over the years. Pete :)
  6. Hi to all, I live in Newcastle NSW and recently purchased a 2005 Camry Ateva. I'm looking forward to sharing with others on this site.
  7. I agree, take it to an expert. It is very common for any automatic to slip when its cold due to the oil level being low. Even .5 of a liter can present problems. This happens because the oil is low when it is cold, but as it heats up it expands and can then reach a level where the unit will often operate normally until it cools down again, eg overnight. ALWAYs seek advise when an automatic transmission slips in any shape or form. Its is very easy to burn out a multi-clutch in a few minutes if allowed to slip even for a short time ( a few minutes can be enough) Regards Pete :D
  8. Not long had my 2005 Camry Ateva 2.4 which has the default radio/cassette and single CD player. It actually works fine but I am never the less curious if anyone has had any experience of upgrading their unit. My biggest disappointment is the lack of a USB input really. Cheers Pete
