And maybe you know what is caising my immobiliser problem that has cost me $550 and still gives me intermittent problems... See my blog on Echo/Yaris... well mor a bitch than a blog... WILL PAY FOR ADVICE !!!!! AAAgggGhhhhh !!! TOYOTA DEALERS Sincerly guys.... What secrets can we post without getting the forum closed / sued by TOYOTA

  3. Thanks Gazoom... Mr T could go n talk to em for me : ) I'll draft TOYOTA a letter an make it all official. Tis worth a try. The major p@#$ off is it's workin fine at the moment. We live on a boat and my fife takes our kids to town in the Echo... like playing roulette. :(
  4. IMMOBILISER PROBLEM They're starting to remind me of Telstra.. Their marketing millions are replacing good old CUSTOMER SERVICE. I t's true; the heading is not a lie. I got told by one of the service 'professionals' behind the counter that TOYOTA doesn't make a Sportivo Echo... HELLO !! Well WE all know (I hope) that they do (make one). I've owned one since 2001. I have a problem that is verrrrry difficult to find any answers for, so I'm hoping someone in this forum has some REALISTIC solution. Why not go to a TOYOTA dealer?? Well if you looked at my bitch at the beginning you'd notice a lack of wisdom on their behalf... I have NO FAITH in their ability to diagnose the problem without it costing me a small fortune. Here are some other classics. I had a failure in a relay. The one that sits in the box near the battery. It sends power to the starter. The car was not starting intermittently... No click, no nothin... The Local dealer *Wodonga tried reprogramming the keys... the immobiliser??? The immobiliser doesn't stop the bloody motor from turning over it just wont start! They jumper into the car with our 3 year old daughter asleep in the back and drove it into the workshop.. Freaking her and us out totally !! We were right beside the car !! I got advised by an RACQ service guy (like NRMA & VACC) that the problem was simply this relay and he sticks a paper clip in the socket to get us started... Another... Car started missing on 1 cylinder... Obviously electrical.. Can't mistake that 3-4-3-4 cylinder feel huh? Dealer in Wangaratta got told the details .. Proceeded to 1 Remove 'excess pressure' from Air Con. 2 removed 4 new iridium plugs that I'd just paid $25 each for.. (Yes I read the report on the way home- car still missing-phoned em -majorly ****** off and told them to get them out of the bin) I explained t the 'mechanic' that if he had the brains to note the order that the plugs came out - he would have seen which cylinder was not firing...(Yes one was quite a bit darker) Hours of wasted time and money.... I took it home in disgust and found the problem myself... Water in a connector to the high voltage transformer *coil above #2 plug NOW... I have an immobiliser problem... The local TOYOTA dealer *Bundaberg... yes the 'no Sportivo' people told me I'd have to spend $1400 on a new ECU !! But for only $80 they'd try one for me to see if that was the Problem... I was recently in Melbourne and the Immobiliser failed... well it wouldn't let the car start.. After fiddling with on off on off yadda yadda for half an hour I got one last start... choofed of to a wrecker and got used ECU. installed for $500... Guess What?? Same problem !!!! AAAAaaaggghhhh !!! DO YOU HAVE ANY *INTELLIGENT ANSWERS ?? What lets the 'security light ' keep flashing, ( the transducer is not telling the security system the right key is in the barrel) When it works the light stops flashing and stays on and the engine fires.. The latest dilemma was the engine CUT OUT !! In Brisbane in the middle of peak hour traffic !
