  1. I've got no choice, only Shell, but can't feel the difference between V-Power or 95 or 91. BH
  2. As mentioned, 4 in the house and the Vienta is the most loved car with 8 years under my name and would be another year. Others are from 2 months to 5 years old. Nothing wrong with the Vienta just up and go, that why I bought the Presara recently. Also as mentioned elsewhere in this forum, the BMW is the least reliable car, engine failed twice during last 4 years (from brand new). I wanted to kick it out but my wife did not let me do so. Could be the service interval is too long which contributes to those failures. BH
  3. Thanks - My Camry (Vienta Grande 1999 - still own) has 10,000k intervals, my Honda CR-V has 15,000k intervals and my BMW318i has 25,000k intervals. I thought with new "technology" could be around 10,000k - but actually not. I don't know why the mechanics put a sticker for the end of Feb-2008 - 6 months down the track. BH
  4. Hi all, 2 weeks ago, I took my Presara to a dealer for a check up (around 2,500km). Today, looking at a small ticker on the windscreen which shows my next oil change is late Feb-2008. Again, reading thru the manuals which say the car has 7,500 km service intervals. My question: Do you know any car which requires service every 7,500 km or only the Aurions ? (I thought around 10,000 or 15,000 km). Regards, BH
  5. Yes, after 1 month - these are the numbers: One tank using 95 but from my view it's totally hopeless. I put 35l on the very first tank (Toyota put 35l ?). Normal daily home-work-home and shopping weekends. BH Just having another "test": A return trip (over 2500km from) Melbourne to Sydney with 2 days travelling around few busy streets in Sydney Best: 7.838l/100km - Worse: 11.994l/100km (tank to tank) BH
  6. I brought my car to the dealer for "the first checkup" today - they could not find it. By they way, I asked them to disconnect the centre stop light but the light is still there (I did not check when picking up the car until get home) and in the invoice they put this "centre stop light has been disconnected". This makes me wandering how good the service was . BH
  7. Yes, after 1 month - these are the numbers: One tank using 95 but from my view it's totally hopeless. I put 35l on the very first tank (Toyota put 35l ?). Normal daily home-work-home and shopping weekends. BH
  8. Elsewhere in the the manuals which says something like this: do not keep the tank below 1/4 its capacity, that means below 17.5l. There must be a good reason behind this (I don't know) but the light comes up as designed. BH
  9. My Presara has same noise but very hard to find where - Definitely something is tapping the windscreen, not very often but annoying - I took my son to go for around 100k but he could not hear anything on freeway. BH
  10. Simple answer: No - The system has 1 slot for DVD and 1 slot for CD (can hold 4 CD's). The slot for DVD is for the map, it does not have built-in memory. I believe it can play DVD but need a firmware (or hack) - one more thing: its screen is not suitable for movies. BH
  11. Hi all, Just post few photos to say hello to our Spring (well in 3 weeks time) BH
  12. Not a Magna, it's a BMW318i Exec with 4 more options (Moon roof, Onboard Computer, Wood grain, Metalic paint). Well, not 4 engines, actually the engine with 4 cyls because the car did not go anywhere. Late May 2007, on the trip back to Melbourne from Adelaide the car simply did not start after a break at Border Town - Local machanics gave me some helps and then people from RAA (?) could not make it start therefore the car must be towed back to Adelaide - after 4 hours, Adelaide Motors found the problem but no part. BH

For the first 2 years, scheduled services were free, they "chop" your arms and legs from year 3 3. During the first 2 years, one engine failed, all 4 coils were replaced - free 4. During my trip to Adelaide, all 4 engines failed (see last item) 5. Add 10% for GST on the top of the above figures Sorry if the cols don't line up well. BH Updated: 3-Aug-2007 - using proper table BH
  14. I believe we have to pay for it - hope it is not expensive - (double a normal directory is ok). BH
  15. Totally agree, I once had a TP Elante (1990), a nice car but after doing around 75,000 it used petrol more than I drank beer. I did sell it privately for $3,000 mid 2002. BH
  16. Many thanks for all sugestion but I have to give up - waiting for my first service (5000km or 3 months). - I could not access inside due to the blind, could not find cables from the boot - cables go to the lights on the spolier come from somewhere at the front of the car and they are tied up (using normal cables ties) with the boot hinge. Again - thanks, BH
  17. Mine is actually too dark in comparison with my other cards (Honda, Toyota Vienta & BMW318i). BH
  18. That means your car is one week newer than mine - Have fun - I've got 700k fun over 1 week - will take a "test drive" this Sunday. BH
  19. Thanks - Looking around but could not find the cables. The spoiler covers >80% of the taillight anyway and looks not professional when both lights turn up at the same time. Will look closer this weekend. Again, many thanks BH
  20. One thing i've just found out: the mirror inside works only with headlights of cars behind, it does not work with the sun - BH
  21. Hi - me again, After searching the Net, I've found many "hits" but a lot of them like/similar this: Many of the Toyota nav systems have an override code to allow for entering new addresses etc while the car is moving. You can search on the net to find needed sequence. The override instructions for my Highlander are as follows. I have been told that this works on some Lexus models "To Override : Push the menu button, push the volume icon in the middle the screen, push the volume icon in the top left corner of the screen, push the bottom left corner (with no icon), push the volume icon in the top left corner of the screen (again), push the botton left corner (with no icon) (again). At this point a new menu appears. Some cool stuff here like the GPS satellite data. I would not mess with stuff though, because you might screw up your car. One of the buttons says "override" push and hold this button for 5 seconds, then release. The button will stay blue. Then push the back button." My sugestion is only let your passenger to do this when you are driving. Good luck, BH
  22. That is not stupid, it is designed to keep the driver to concentrate on the road - some features are on the steering wheel. BH
  23. Looks like you can open a workshop (just kidding). My small problem is I want to stop the stop lights at the back because I've already have lights from the spoiler. I don't have much time therefore I have to wait for the first service (and they may charge for it). I also wish to know more about the car. In short, my query: how can I stop the stop light at the back (even I have to cut the cable) ? BH
