As mentioned in one of my note: I went to Tint-A-Car, they showed me many types from $250 to over $800 - Tintprofessor gave me one-quote-fit-all $265 ..... well it turned out very hard decision. BH

Me too, after talking with 2 shops namely Tint-A-Car & TintProfessor and few calls, I decided to leave my car un-tinted. By the way, a shop gave me around 20 differrent types of many brands (including one famous sunglass brand) varying from $300 to $800. I'm living in a SE suburb of Melbourne. BH

Well, it works for you but not others (bad luck). A friend of mine has 2 Lexuses, one has old version and he did make a copy of the new one; but the copy does not work on the old Lexus. I may get his copy and try one day (We do not live in same state). BH

Sorry, I'd like to make a bit clearer: not 60km/h in the city, 60km/h on the open road highway/freeway - all AS tests use a set of special rules and on pen road driving from 60km/h to 90km/h (depending on millions of other factors) can imrpove fuel consumption a lot. BH

The sticker uses AS something to calculate that number. Toyota must meet that standard to be able to stick that sictker. If you could run on a flat road, not windy, ...plus at around 60km/h you make be able get better than 9.9l. I believe all of us will never get close to that number. BH

Don't know, I thought AS something indicates cars must have beams on side doors - A friend of mine imported a Lexus (well Soarer). He must pay $$$ to have beams to get RWC. BH

Yes, I did tell the dealer but two of their staff drove the car and could not find it (they used both belts)- I've found this by chance and just move the buckle away. I also have a rattle noise recently when the air-cond ON, could be something inside the air flow. BH

That's good; the map should be treated like a piece of software, they should allow us to update/upgrade within one year - Given the cost of producing the DVD and ... they can charge users $20 for each piece - They should also just build in the price of the vehicle and allow users update/upgrade free within one year. Well - just my thought anyway. I still can not work out why we can pay around $300 for a portable NAV but must pay nearly $400 for a DVD after paying few thousand $ for the system. BH

A friend of mine has ordered a RAV4 which is scheduled to arrive late Feb2008 and they will put new map onto that one - written price. BH

I always play 80-20 rule and I think Toyota is playing with this rule too. BH

FYI: I paid around $800, dealer fitted, for my Presara from day 1. BH

The map itself is more km, more roads ..... like any Melways, Sydways, BrisWays (do they have one ...) ... updates - The software to run it is another story that why Toyota has 2 vendors for one DVD map - The map is not big (not xxGb thing - Garmin users can download V14 very quick and they have 1 year upgrade plan too). The software is where they make money, and you can not copy software (the DVD), it simply won't run. BH

Yep, my trips to Sydney early Sep07 and last week to Brisbane I set to around 115 to 120 (the needle stayed in between). The overhead speedreader told me I was running at 111 - should be ok then BH

Thanks - Just get back after a trip to Brisbane, a bit rough but everything was ok including the map given it guided me to a short cut (using a route from Uralla to Gloucester then to the Pacific Hwy - M1 rather than followinng National route 15). I did contact Toyota Service Rep before my trip and she sent my request to Brighton Toyota (Vic). Toyota Brigton sent me an email today saying the manual will be ready to be picked up anytime from this Wednesday. BH

I still can not understand why the system and the upgrade map are so expensive. I bought a Xmas gift for my wife with all bells and whistles for only $435 (a Mio C520) with 1 free membership which allows me to upgrade any new frimware & software including map - I've just upgraded it from V3 to V3.3 (not Sensis I believe). As mentioned in my previous reply, I'm willing to pay a cost of 2 or 3 Melways (say $100) for every two year upgrade but $400 is a bit rich. BH

Well, not bad at all - On the way back I used the GPS and selected route #2 (using National road 15). The system guided me to Uralla and then using a short cut thru Walcha to Gloucester. My calculation indicated I should have enough petrol to go to Gloucester but my wife was a bit worry. I filled up petrol at a very small town called Nowendoc, more than enough to go to Sydney from there. As mentioned above, during my stay in Brisbane, only a shower for around 15 mins on Monday morning when we were at the Australia Zoo to watch "Crocs Hunters" show. BH

I plan to make a trip to Brisbane by car, depart from Melbourne early 5/1, stay overnight somewhere around Sydney and then go to Brisbane the next day. But looking at this (source: Yahoo7 weather): Hope BOM will show good weather after Monday . BH

Happy New Year all, I normally keep the manuals in the glove box. Now I can not find manual for the NAVSAT system, probably the service guys took it out with the service book and did not put it back. Very hard to have them admit that now. Do you know where I can find a replacement, I can't find it in Toyota support (only sale sale sale .....). Regards, BH

This is something to do with the laws/rules here in Australia - Some other countries we can have a new car after few problems during warranty period. Hope the rules here change. BH

I believe there are few colors which you can not have metalic option (not just Toyota, any brand), white is one of them - they may say mica but definitely not metalic BH

Hi - Does it cover the air bag ? BH
