  1. I'm with RACV, $750 ish p.a from memory, I'm 24, 1 claim. Any legal mods are allowed, no excesses or increased premiums. Currently have basic and age excess, works out about a grand I think. Was $2200 when I was in Gosford but that was insured business, no mods, and I think $1100.00 excess.
  2. I'm in for sure. Please PM account details when you can so I can transfer the money across. Cheers. Scott.
  3. I have Iridium IX's on mine, didn't notice anything change, possibly ran a little smoother, but I could have been telling myself that as well to justify it.
  4. Should definately be in, will advise if that's not the case, but already had permission from the missus to get some a while ago. Put me down, just need them by the end of the year! :P
  5. I'm definately interested as well. What time frame are looking at, would we have them before the end of the year?
  6. Mine does the same too occassionally, runs fine, I'm not half sure that there may not be enough fuel getting in (a quick rev fixes it) but it runs fine otherwise, so I'm not stressing about it.
  7. I've been on Hot4's forum since 2002. Earlier on, lots of people got done (More often than not on cruises, as this is where they congregated) and it's from places like this that they know where people are going from/to, what cars/who is going, what mods they have done (as a number of these sorts of people brag about stuff on the car) and as such know who to look out for.Everyone knows they do it, they do crackdowns occassionally as everyone knows, where do you think they get their information from? If you can get me a written statement from the Police/RTA saying they don't I will more than happily delete this post. Dugong: Keep the stock cat, unless you get some sort of deal from whoever you're getting your parts off, they might be able to do you a deal. Well unless it's a track car, then take it off completely.
  8. All good, I didn't specifically look at who did post about it, but had seen a couple that had. Been in the situation myself a few times in years past, more often to do with work, but yeah. :) Maybe he could SMS you with a date once they have them, if you ask nice enough! :P
  9. Hey Xploshun, no offense, but as they only just put the order in a couple of weeks ago, might still be a little way off. He'll reply when he knows something. (I like that you're keen, it's good to see, patience is a virtue) I'm moving in a weeks time, wo would be nice to know either way what's happening, but constantly asking isn't going to speed up the process, it's all out of his hands.
  10. Well done. You do realise that police do troll internet car forums for stupid things like this.So saying they don't have a clue is a croc, you've just admitted to doing that, hope you get caught. They have these things for a reason, modern day cats are extremely efficient as has been mentioned, especially on the sportivo.
  11. They probably won't cover anything TRD, well any parts associated with any issues. Had an issue with my CAI wiring, it's not TRD, and I asked them as I said it was an exact copy of one, but because it is not standard, and you are modifying the car, it wouldn't matter one bit, TRD or not. But then again, they are Toyota and try to get out of as much as possible. If they fit it though, I think it can be covered, by writing a stat dec or something? (Someone correct me here if they want, I'm not entirely sure on that)
  12. 10k services i take to toyota, also helps if any warranty items. (did you know standard globes are covered in warranty?) 5k services I do myself.
  13. Silva: When you get a chance, can you please make an updated list, with who has paid as well? (Well deposits anyway) Thanks mate.
  14. I'd take it to a third party, something like an NRMA inspection, where they put it in writing. Toyota, depending on the dealer, try not to find as much as an NRMA inspection would.
  15. Rollamods: Where do you normally buy your parts. Found these: CUSCO: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...mMakeTrack=true NO NAME: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...A%3AIT&rd=1 PETERSON: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...em=150029150549
  16. Anyone with specific brands that they recommend and/or otherwise?
  17. They are, pretty sure it has something to do with crash testing, bonnets are designed to help protect the cabin by absorbing impact, etc, and carbon doesn't have the same properties. Unless you can find someone who has engineered one?
  18. Cool, learnt something then. Thought using pressure would have ensured it got out of any "nooks and crannies".
  19. OK, sounds like your Battery wasn't fitted tightly, Ie Bracket Loose, and when you have hit the hump, the top of the battery has shorted on the bonnet. Clean the acid off immediately, don't touch it on skin, will burn. Get some good gloves, clean it off using a cloth, so it doesn't go on anything else, then with the remnants, pressure wash it off. Afterwards I'd probably use some prepsol to make sure everything was off, but get a mate or someone to check it out to make sure that the acid hasn't eaten through anything. Voltage stabiliser should be ok? Unsure on this. Shouldn't be lasting damage. Edit: Beaten.
  20. If only I wasn't babysitting. Bugger. Interested to know though guys, what PSI do you all run (in tyres before someone trys being funny)?
  21. This offer still going, who am I best to contact? (already sent PM to Danthuyer, no response as yet, so just checking) Cheers. Scott.
  22. Itself, stuff all. But if it is something that has altered the flow of air, obviously having a larger exhaust will be less restrictive on the air flow so more air is getting sucked in/pushed out, means that more air is going to be wanting to be mixed with fuel. And until the computer learns the new setting over a couple of weeks, will be running a little rough. I'm not a mechanic, but I was always told to reset the ECU after any engine or related mod, as everything has a follow on effect once you change something. But yeah read it a bit better, possibly a vibration from something they've done.
  23. Have you reset the ECU yet? If not, I would imagine that would have a fair bit to do with it...
  24. You can Get Alpine Type R's for nearly that price, JB are notorious for raising prices compared to other retailers, then 'slashing' prices, so it looks like you are saving heaps. Go to them and make an offer on what you would pay for them, no reason, as long as it is reasonable, why they wouldn't say yes.
