  1. Well my mate has absolute trust in that workshop so the Martini stuff has went into my Yaris.

So far i feel no difference in performance but i'll be on the look out for any sign of trouble.

  2. I'm not sure of who to suggest in your area, but if you were in Queensland, I would highly recommend Fulcrum Suspension.

Unfortunately i'm down in VIC. Probably i'll look for a Bridgestone tyre centre.

Had this problem with my stock tyres up til my last service - Not sure if they do an alignment at service time (All that was mentioned was rotation and balance) but whatever they did fixed it good...

That's why i'm reluctant to do a alignment now because 30k will be in 2 mths time. Likely it'll mess up again after the tyres are rotated.

  3. Thanks for all the comments.

It screech on tar road surface, both turning left or right. But haven't notice it in roundabout.

My 30k service is coming up. Do you think i should get the alignment check during or after the service ?

    Regards.

  4. Hi, I have a 07 Aurion Prodigy with around 25k running the default Dunlop tyres.

Recently i notice screeching sound from the tyres when i do a 90 degree left or right turn at reasonable slow speed. I can't reproduce this effect consistently though. I had checked the tyre threads, pressure and didn't find anything unusual.

Any suggestions on what else needs to be checked ?

    Regards.

  5. I had previously posted into this forum my method of getting the consumption down to average 9.4L/100

-Fuel type. Shell unleaded 95, NOT Caltex 95, NOT Mobil 95, NOT other crap 95.

-Control your acceleration. At the traffic lights, accelerate at around 2000-2300rpm. You will lose to the punk P-plater driving a Hyundai Getz next to you but this thread is about fuel saving isn't it.

BTW i don't work for Shell.

  6. My Aurion has just touched the 20k mark.

Average consumption over last 12 mths is 9.3L/100

This is based on 80% freeway travel and smooth acceleration of around 2k rpm at traffic lights.

    Petrol used is Shell 95.

Apparently the brand of petrol also matters. I can never get such good result on Caltex 95.

  7. It's been raining heavily here in Melbourne today and I park my car outside.

I notice that there are some minute drops of water coming from the speaker seals in BOTH the passenger and drivers side doors. I look at it closely and I'm sure the water is coming from below the speaker seals. The water just drops into the side pockets.

I reviewed both doors and cannot find any obvious leaks. If there was such a leak, i would assume the side doors would show more signs of moisuture. I checked both the power windows and the audio system and both are working. I reckon if the doors have been flooded, they would not work.

Has anyone experienced this? Is it normal to get some water into the doors. Apart from the bit of water leaking, the interior is totally dry. I also checked the rear doors and no leaks.

I noticed that some water got in (i presume through the window gap), but not as bad as your case. A day after the rain stopped i can still see some water droplets on the door sill.

  8. Out of curiosity does anyone else hear a lot of clicking in the dashboard area when you turn on your airconditoning after the car has been in the sun? It's kinda of like a tic, tic, tic as the airconditioning piping contracts etc..

I have never heard this before in any other car and i have owned and driven many but the Aurion does this for about 20 mins or so every time.

I have exactly the same ticking sound on my prodigy. It's 2 mths old so should be around the same build date as yours.

  9. It means on the replacement dash, the odo reading is already 1000+, not close to zero as you would expect new parts. So pretty obvious the dash has been taken off from somewhere else.

At that point of time i was not fussy about it as long as it has a lower reading than the original dash.

Anyway the replacement (recycled) dash is working fine and the workmanship is good so i figured better don't risk another job which could result in more issues.
