  1. Oh pleaseeee don't say "like the Magnas" I look at the Magna sports and i cringe/laugh...
  2. Dammit, I'm so cut that i missed this cruise! But last minute had something on! Anyone gonna organise a mini meet soon? or another cruise? I'm getting two Varex Cannons installed on my Aurion next monday and feel like cruising around, making some noise, disturbing the peace etc etc... ps. Who drives a silver celica that I met at beastclub cruise on saturday? I know you intro'd youself, but i couldn't really hear over all the noise, and couldn't find you the rest of the night!
  3. Lol, yeah i agree, value for money I don't really think that the TRD is worth it! It does look a fair bit better... but either than that, who can justify an extra 20-30k for a supercharge? you could use that $$$ to get a custom kit made, and a after-market supercharge... but then there are better cheaper ways to getting close to that much extra power. I spoke to someone who was on the TRD design team, even he thinks that at that price, it just isn't worth it. I like the rims, but I think I'd rather look around for some 19" black deep dish rims to dump my baby on! =) How hot will that be...
  4. any TRD part can only be bought by TRD owners... it sucks i know =( I'm just waiting for someone to total their TRD so i can pick their wreck! I got first dibs!
  5. Hey man... did you do this yourself?? Or did you go to a mech? are there any problems with the sensor that sits before the airbox?? anyway, let me know thanks man! ps. damn straight i wanna hear it!
  6. Hey guys, I took off the mufflers today, and ran the car for a bit! You get a deeper note, but only a little bit louder. (the resonator does it's job TOO well) It's still quieter than a stock WRX. So I've decided to put TWO XFORCE cannons on! This will be the new VAREX with the remote control butterfly valve, so it will be loud loud, with maybe a little gain. But I'll be able to control the volume of the noise from the exhaust! check it out here guys http://www.autoxcess.com.au/default.asp I'll keep you guys posted, and let you know how it goes! If I have time, i'll take a video and post it. The whole thing is costing about $900 There was a guy from repco there when i went to get my exhaust looked at. So he took my dimensions for a K&N panel filter and said he'd try get one made... (there is no K&N filter that will fit right now) so hopefully soon we will have our own filter guys!
  7. did you change gears with foot off acc. or did you take your foot off for change?

    My Aurion

oh man, they look sweet!! 35k could be for a dealer model,
  10. Anyone else with a Aurion going to this? I'd love a photo shoot with a bunch of other aurions, but i guess i'll settle for other stivos'
  11. It's a load of rubbish. To get it done they'd be paying no more then $20. Dealers make more money on extras then on cars alot of the time. You will notice alot of the dealers have a special "extras" salesman, which are very smart people and can pursade you easily, but don't fall for it. Do it yourself. How do I know this? My father was a salesman for 15 years, and dealt with alot of this. Yeah, it definitely sucks! Mine wasn't applied evenly, it's not overly obvious, but while i'm washing the car, and if it's a bright day, you can obviously see the spots where it hasn't been evenly put on. The light bends in the reflection on these spots and makes it look weird. It doesn't really protect the car much at all, I still find that i'm having to polish the car, I'm considering cuting the glaze entirely back, and polishing the car myself!
  12. you don't have to get the carolla face done at the factory, it can be installed at pre-delivery, you just need to ask! If you get it done that way, it won't void your warranty for that parts. Hey AcousticK have you tried shifting down before taking over someone, or flooring it? there's still lag, but it's significantly less than when going hard in 4th or even 3rd, depending on ur speed.
  13. Depends on the kinda drivers we have here, sounds like most people prefer to go for something scenic, lunch photo shoot... so geelong will be best.
  14. you can get toyota's crystal glaze, it should be about $400 or more, it's a special glaze they put over the paint, so you don't have to wax or polish, just wash and it'll stay perfectly glossy.
  15. hey beaves, congrat and welcome! about a month ago, I myself was car shopping, looking at everything sporty in that price range, i like a bit of grunt in my rides, everything from rex 08, civic typeR, golf gti, focus xr5. And after driving the aurion, I was flawed, I know we're talking a different class of car here, but it's a sweet compromise between sports and comfort! And even though it's class as a family car, I have no problems opening her up no matter what road. As to your aux issue, I had the same issue, toyota can replace the aurion facia with a camery or carolla one, the only thing is that they are both black, if you can get around the black facia on a silver surrounding, then that's the most obvious solution. As for the lag when flooring, that will happen if your either in "drive" or your gears are too high in sport. While i'm driving i usually have my revs at about 2.5k +, so minimal lag (there will still be some compared to a manual, because it is still considered automatic) but it's barely noticeable. Since your getting black, make sure you keep her clean! I cry when i see a dirty black aurion on the road! Shame on them! =p get used to washing your car AT LEAST once a week! good luck with it!
  16. turbo in an aurion?? man that would be scary!!! make sure you dyno asap! =p
