yep, if i had a normal aurion, i would have done that as well... but the TRD has the exhausts coming out of the rear bumper... so it would have been a very tight squeeze... :( Yeah, I was actually going to ask you on another post how you managed to fit the cannons on the TRD, now I get it! Actually when I was first planning to do the exhaust work, I was considering doing by the set up you have, would have been cheaper too (by approx $300) ... but I couldn't stand the look of pipes or even smaller tips sticking out of my *****... Now I understand why you don't need the actual cannons on the end, you have the cool looking body kit with the triangle exhausts...

Set of Wheels, HID's, Sports Grill, K&N Filter... so probably more than $3k all got dumped on the credit card... havn't calculated how much it'll all cost yet. :S Yeah, I can't believe how many people have the Varex now... and to think that all my friends thought it was a rediculous idea when I was first considering getting it done! But hey... They've all been pulled over and defected at least once for their normal cannons... I've never been done "touch wood" [edit] actually, before I go buy panel filter, does the K&N SRI come with a kit for our Aurion/Camery V6?? If so, is it pretty much plug and play? Ie. LOL Seca... it'll be cheaper for you guys though, most of all your jobs are DIY, I don't even DIY wash my car! =p So say goodbye to converting my own lights to HID's (which I'm getting done tonight, low beams and fog) you're using the K&N panel filter right? not the intake or some crap that's going to dirty my hands... haha =p

Are you sure it wasn't the other way around? Leave the CAT and take out the resonater? That's what I did when I first got my Aurion and a few others have done! Some people have just changed the muffler to a Varex cannon without removing the resonater, doesn't make much of a difference! You gotta get rid of that Res... your car will thank you! :D You should get a nice gain as well, around 13-14kw at the wheels (edit) btw, if you can afford it, Take Seca's photo but swap everything around! So instead of replacing the Resonater with a Varex Cannon, replace it with a straight pipe and instead of replacing the mufflers with pipes replace them with two Varex Cannons, one on each side... looks so much cooler imo. And you're exhausts will look exactly how they sound, BEAST! That's a fair gain at the wheels, for a fairly simple exhaust modification. Have those gains ever been proven? yah, I dyno'd 157.8 kw at a tocau dyno day, another aurion got 144kw on the same day if I remember correctly...

With tinting just be careful, while cops may not pull you over (the don't really care about tint) insurance companies do, mainly because they are always looking for an excuse not to pay out your claim! If they think for moment that any accident is caused due to your tint, they will check the grade!! So unless you're prepared to rush into the wreck yard that your car is taken to and strip the tint before the insurance man checks it out, might be safer to go legal darkest...

Do you know which K&N filter will fit an 07-8' Aurion? It's the Camery same year model right?? Does anyone know if mkay was getting 158kw after he changed his filter or before? I'm sitting on 157.8 with a straight 2" pipe where the resonator was, and the two varex's... trying to figure out if it's worth it to pull the front of my car apart just for a filter, especially if it's only going to make a superficial difference... Sigh... you guys are killing me btw... 2 years, spent no money on mods... started reading forums again yesterday to see what everyones doing with their Aurions... now today I've locked in over $3k ordering parts!! damn you tocau!

In the time you were away from us... you must have really gone missing A new facelift Aurion has been released and sport new tail lights with the Sportivo having a clear version: LOL, deffinately been way to pre-occupied with other stuff! Don't worry, I'm back for now anyway! Yeah, I had seen a couple of photos of the Aurion 10' just never any rear photos! lol! Either way, I'm not sure if I actually do like those rear lights better... or if I'm just sick of my 07' round ones...

Tail light covers? Do you mean tint film? The white covers on his rear brake lights? Is that film?

i don't have stock ones, but i have the graph of mine, i'll dig it up and scan i was told by Al at the lane toyota service center that it wouldn't void warranty. danny, roy the mech who did my car will tell you that it's illegal to be on the safe side. I've checked the emisions they still meet standards... but the sound level is illegal, which is why you get the varex so you can soften the sound when you want

hmm... that's a strange design, it'll be interesting to what it'll sound like... the Varex DOES have a half open setting... Having that much pipe after WON'T reduce sound by much, as it's pretty much straight through... as for the looks, you can always get muffler tips added. You won't have a problem with the height from the ground, because if you're putting it where the res. was, there is a concave spot from where the res is, You don't need to put a cannon there, X Force has designed a smaller model of the varex and goes before the muffler specifically for twin exhaust cars! I just didn't go that option, which is much cheaper... coz i really liked the look of two 'flame throwers' on the back of my car! :) Seca, if you want more performance out of your car, you might want to toy with the idea of reducing your car to two cats! Because the majority of the sound reduction comes from the resonater... so you have to cut that out if you want the sound and volume i have. All up, it cost me just over $1k, but might be different now if the price in the varex has come down! If you want the details of my mechanic pm me. I'll be more than happy to pass it on. He's in Nunawading, so it's close for you.

The warranty for all your major part won't be effected. Because everything you're changing is after the engine, it won't touch your warranty... the only thing it will effect is the warranty on you're exhaust, which really can't stuff up anyway. If you're still unsure about it, go talk to your local toyota service centre. fyi. the varex cannons will fit, the oval ones might not, I remember having trouble with the oval ones but none with the cannons.

Hey guys... sorry about the lack in replies! I've been away for a while! Nice to see that my car+mods have a fan! I'll most likely be at the dyno day guys! The only downside to what i've done is the increase in fuel... I'm not sure what that's due to... could be due to a increase in back pressure... you can always close the valve to save fuel... I don't know how that works... but it seems to do the job. There is a performance increase though... Seca, You might have a loss in power with what i've done seeing as yours is a supercharge... You might need a highflow cat so that you retain back pressure, i'm not sure... talk to an exhaust specialist about it... alternatively you can just do what i've done for now... try to gauge for yourself whether there's an increase or loss in power... As for the exhaust, if all you do is change the muffler... then you won't get that sound that you hear from the clip! I've also taken out other stuff, (pm me if you want to know what exactly) and put a straight 2.5 inch pipe through. With just the cannons you barely hear anything... the resonator does too good a job! With your TRD, i'm pretty sure you'd still be able to fit cannons, you just won't be able to see them coz your ur bumper! You might not get the sound you want from ovals though...

yeah... I just chucked the cat back on, kept the resonator off... sounds the same, but you can feel the drop in power =( I'm going to leave the cat on untill i can get emission levels tested with it off...

haha, sounds sweet at high revs, good thing is that you can close it off.... If you want power gain, you need to do more than the exhaust, because there are a few pretty damn restrictive parts on the aurion... if you guys want more details, and anyone in melb wants to know the best deal to get it done, just pm me!
