I have one of these cars too and it is used daily getting me to work. It normally uses between 7.5-8.0 lt/100kms and does not use any oil. Quite like it and hope it keeps going for at least another year. Do you know of any others? Regards
Wonder if there is a retired or backyard car painter in the group who could paint the bonnet and roof of our Camry. Dont want to spend a fortune as the car is not worth too much. We are in the South east of Brisbane.
We are rather keen to keep our SV11 and wonder if anyone of the great brotherhood knows of any that have been wrecked or are lying unused. Especialy want a rustfree hatch, which does not have to have glass or trim, just the metal bit.
Each year the Bayside Vehicle Restorers Car Club runs a rally on Australia Day. This event is not just for the clubs vehicles but for anyone that turns up. Last year 350 vehicles attended and this year should be bigger! An event you dont have to organise Full details are on the clubs web site http://www.baysideclub.org.au/
I managed to obtain another front bumper but am still missing an amber indicator lens. It measures 162 X 60 and the mounting screws are 73 apart. I would think it is common to some other models of Toyota.
I have been able to find the part numbers for the Munroe and KYB shock absorbers, but as yet I have not found the article in Australia. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Has any of the Queensland members of the site got a good steering wheel foe a 1986 Celica. It is the plain one without the controls. I have been refused a Safety Certificate because the outer gripping surface has becme unstuck from the inner and will revolve.
As we have recently bought a 1986 Celica I have been going over it cleaning and repairing. The air conditioning is set up for R12 gas which is no longer available. I am sure many other owners have been faced with the same problem, so how did you solve it? All threads of this problem gratefully accepted. Cheers
To bring everone up to date I have bought a 1986 model with the 3S_GELC motor and auto. It came at a bargin price as the power sreer pump was noisy and left a pool of red when parked. Today I have removed the pump and will start looking for a exchange or replacement component. Any help in this respect would be appeciated and also in respect of relacement. How do you get the pressure side of the pump tight? Do you do it before you put the body in place as it would be difficult to see after. Im sure someone will have had some experiance with this aspect and will save me some problems. Hope all have a good festive season and don't collet any presants from the road safety enforcers.
hi to you all. At the moment I am selling my 240Z Datsun and wish to buy an auto Celica. The reason for this is that my wife has arthritis and pressing the clutch and the heavier steering are too difficult for her. I would like to purchase a Celica in the 80's or early 90's and not pay a great heap of dollars for it. If anyone has a car that they think would suit us, drop me a line.
I would like to know what fuel consumtion we could expect from a 1985 Auto Supra in good running order. I imagine cruising and commuting would be somewhat differant. Regards to all owners
