These are the ones I mentioned in my original post. Surely there must be SOMEONE who has fitted seat covers to their Klugers and can comment? There are so many Klugers on the road, I can't believe it's so hard to get decent sear covers! Have a nice set of "Ben Dark" covers front and back. Have had them for 1.5 years and they are fine. The only little problem that could be there is in the back seat. Where the seat belt comes out of the back left seat for the middle seat, it just doesn't seem right. Only use the middle seat once every 2 months for a very short trip. Also where the middle seat locks into the top of the side seat, there needs to be a cut made that looks a bit cheap. I do not have a cover for the middle seat or the arm rest in the back. The front ones are great and hold there position very well. Beats me why toyota don't make seat covers for this and other models. It would seem like a there is a market given the third-party shops have so many in store. Toyota have a lot of other additional things that you would have to wonder is it worth there while and who buys them.

The 70's look will go with the 70's music I play. I think there are some places that have a much hotter/brighter sun. WA and inland NSW for two. I lived in Melbourne for over 10 years and never had sun glasses, now in Perth I need them most of the time. The UV index used in WA has a different scale rating to Vic. for a start.

I have one also. Have to say, not keen on the velcro strips. My one looks the same, but does does slide just a little up and down.

I have a same problem with the second rowseats. The seatbelt has a lock on it to stop it extending further. It is only in the rear seats wear a child seat would be placed to maintain the tension of the belt. The problem is, the belt can not be extended, even a little, once its put on. My son hates it as it stops him pick up thing from around the seat. Is this a general problem that others have?

Payed for the KX-R last night, SGIO AUD303.75. Two drivers, over 30 and all the rating 1 stuff, living in Perth. Have the house with the same company.

Could reporting a slower speed have something to do with better fuel useage? Even on the test track. Just an idea.

If you guys are correct and the animation is a gimmick, I think that was the point of the topic. "Is there a way to disable the startup graphics?" (ref. rzkman, 28 April)

My idea of the order of things would be: Get in the seat, put on seat belt, make adjustments, start the car, select gear, release the brake and start moving. From the starting of the car till the start rolling you shouldn't have to wait for the screen to start displaying what your doing.

All sounds nice about slowing down alittle. What about this, walk up to the car having a good look around the surroundings. Get in, and get set to turn the thing over, wait the few seconds for the dancing show to finish on the screen, then start moving. Yes it is only 5 seconds longer for the screen to be ready, but in that time the outside surrounding have now more likely changed. Is that making things safer? I think not. I remember the days when DOS used to bootup, it told you every file that was being loaded. Now Windows just gets on with and boots. Are they running DOS still?

Please Mr Toyota find a laptop plug in fix for us at our next services. I've never had a speeding ticket in 29yrs of driving. Having my Cannon calculator "Blu-tacked" to my horn surface on the steerring wheel for re calibration is gona get me a ticket when I mis judge it by 2 k's soon. Plus when I turn around corners the calculator goes upside down Gets me thinking back to the days when all the road signs were in km/hr and my speedo was in ml/hr. The only difference being the number of people pushing you to drive at the speed limit and the number of tickets you could get. Could it simple be a case of Toyota playing it safe and not wanting to get bad press with small errors in the speedo causing drivers to get tickets. Understating the car speed by 8 km/hr for example, would mean there could be a larger error in the speedo tolerance, say +/- 6. From Toyotas piont of view, it would be far worst for the press to run stories that there cars are poorly built when drivers start getting booked for believeing what the speedo tells them, compared to having a "great" safety feature built in the car.

If second guessing what your correct speed is, is meant to be safer, I'm a little lost in the logic. If they did it to something like the seatbelt light for example, it came on even if your seatbelt is on, just so you checked everbody would be very ******. My speedo shows about 67, while gps shows 60. Does the toyota fitted gps show the speed, and if so is it different?

Has anyone tried the idea of adding a rear view camera to the front? Afterall, you have the display there already. Just missing a forward facing camera.

Got one after the car was picked up for around $106 in Perth, WA. Fits very nice, stops most thing sliding (have a cheap $10 net with hooks from supercheap auto). Only down side I could think of, it is very heavy. As far as 3yrs/100kkm, what would you expect to go wrong that they may replace/fix? I can I say, its Toyota you pay for it.

So is that their delivery date or yours its registered on? ie Thursday or Monday?

Small problem I'm not happy with. I get a new Toyota, with the new vehicle warranty. The only problem with the warranty is it starts ticking away from the date recorded on the reg. sticker. That is, the date when the dealer recorded the vehicle with the police etc. Not the date I get the car from the dealer over a week later and abit later. Is this a one off or a common thing for dealers to do? True its only a small difference, but add this up over a large number of vehicle and there could be a big saving made by Toyota.

You better be right. I signed my life away for a kluger on 20/12 and ETA on the contract was Feb '08 and now it seems like a lie.... March/Apr looks more like it :( Given you have a contract in place, which the dealer would want, have you tried getting a new price? Just as their quoted ETA was wrong, say your final price was wrong. I guess in most cases that would not work to well. What would you do if it was bits of the car missing that they said it had to get a contract in place? On the other hand, what about asking for a few more extras. We are not just talking a few days over, more like weeks/months. Let us know how you go! Tell you a nice story to get the sale, then hope you let me changes little bits. Doesn't sound like the its in the correct sprit of fair play.

Went for the bottom of the range Kluger 4x2 KX-R automatic. The only extra I got added was the alloy nudge bar and paint (Silver pearl). Was told a drive away price of $45,000 first up. After going to afew other car yards, which takes time, got the price down to the $40,500 mark. Lot of time spent sitting with dealers while they give you a sad story why this is going to send the company under. In the end they have room to move with rebates and discounts. Its your money, their sale. Just have to find time to get the best deal you can on the day.
