  1. Sounds some kind of pulley. Get all the belt's checked, especially the cooling fan belt (If there is one)
  2. Wollies unleaded - 530.2 kms - 39.41 ltr - 13.45 kmpl - 7.43 ltr / 100 km BP E10 - 498.8 kms - 39.05 ltr - 12.77 kmpl - 7.83 ltr / 100 km Shell Unleaded - 535.1 kms - 42.15 ltr - 12.69 kmpl - 7.88 ltr / 100 km Yes the consumption increased slightly but note that I had not checked tyre pressure for months and all 4 were low and uneven. Have put 34 psi all around and filled up with Shell unleaded this morning. Will report back on this when I fill the next tankful Driving conditions and routes have not changed much. No other driver other than me. Mostly 1 person in the car, occassionaly 2. Liberal use of air con as well. Edit: With the latest consumption figures using Shell Unleaded. As can be seen, slightly worse economy than Ethanol. Interestingly, I filled up with 42.15 lts but I thought the fuel capacity of the tank was only 42 ltrs?
  3. I have filled my first tanful with E10 last week I could not tell the difference in power although I'm normally an acute judge of these things. wrt the fuel consumption, I will post normal unleaded (Woolies), E10 (BP) and unleaded (Shell) figures in a couple of weeks time. Cheers
  4. Yaris does a great commute on highways @100 BUT the lack of cruise control does not make it the best of drives. I drive a car with cruise control on the M4 daily and occasionally the Yaris on the same stretch of road and trust me the comfort from cruise control especially doing long stretches on a motorway are significant. Something for you to think about
  5. Thanks again for all the input folks Ended up getting a 06 Silver YRX with <10k on clock and traded in my car at the same time First mod, tinting the windows...will start a new topic re this after a search
  6. OK guys, Saftey Pack would be a tick mark for sure What are the basic differences between YRX and YRS apart from ones below Alloy Wheels Bluetooth 6 Disc CD player Body kit Front and rear spoilers Fog lamps Anything else? Just trying to see if the YRX justifies the 2.5k premium
  7. Thanks for the replies guys. I have a drive away price of $22k for the auto 5 door hatch but this is not in writing, hoping someone meets my budget in Sydney. Good suggestion re the airbags, will certainly look into it, by reckoning it is $750 odd more? Worth increasing the budget for it. It is a outright purchase so no finance involved
  8. Hi all, Wanted some advise. My budget is $21k so was wondering if I could score a new driveaway Silver Lining YRX automatic 5 door hatchback anywhere in Sydney or am I dreaming? My preference is for the YRX due to the fog lights and body kit but if the above not possible will settle for a YRS Thanks Binxx
