    Fastest car i have driven:

2006 Holden HSV GTO Coupe Limited edition 297kw 6ltr V8. Manual. 1st gear 80kmph then 2nd hahahah u get the drift. Sounded unreal!!! Would'nt have paid 86 grand for it though :D

  2. Well my mum took it in to Toyota today, and guess what they reckon no noises from the dash at all. surprise surprise!! Apparantly they took her out onto a gravel track out the back of the dealer and got up to a great pace of around 20 kmph. Maybe they don't want to take the dash off as they don't know what they are doing??

Driving it home from work tonight and theres bloody buzzes, creeks from all different places across the dash. Hit a catseye in the road and it almost sounds as bad as our old ke30 corolla dash :g:

I'd hate to see jeremy clarkson on top gear test driving it, and what he'd have to say about it. "It's just utter rubbish" maybe

What should we do ring toyota head office? about this because it been in twice. and the dash is defineltly crooked as the right hand side is way higher up the windscreen than the left bloody obvious.

I would have thought a Yaris dash should be just thud thud thud over bumps no extra noises??? <_<

  3. Hi all,

I want to remove my front door trim (with power windows) as i have a slight buzz sougta noise coming from around the speaker area and i wana have a look to see whats doing it. Also i want to remove my rear doortrim also to replace the chrome strip along the top.

Does any one know step by step what i have to do/disconnect etc?

    Thanks :)

  4. Hi there

I have focals in my corolla and they are brilliant speakers.

Focal make house speakers as well costing up to 100grand.

Ive been told they r the same speakers used as in the home ones only diff crossovers to suit a car

By the way i would not go to strathfield for an install, two of my mates had to go back for silly mistakes they made. As did my dad whose headunit wasnt even screwed in properly.

MB quart r very good as well, warmer sounding to the focals

Those are the two brands i would look at

  5. Hi all,

My mum owns a '07 yaris hatch. And the dash is lifting on the right hand side next to the windscreen.

We had it fixed not sure what they did, Their fix lasted 1 week now it is lifting again and making a sqeaking soughta noise over bumps. Which is why we got it looked at in the first place.

Has any one had the same kind of problem with their yaris? And does anyone know why it is lifting?

It's going back to the dealer on thursday, and they are going to take the dash off, i just hope they don't make more squeaks and rattles by doing this.

Also those lids in the back over the suspension seem to be quite loose, i know all yaris hatches are like that, but i think they make rattle noises. Is there any way to fix these lids, make them sit tighter?

    Thanks

  6. And i certainly would NEVER run alpine speakers. Sorry to rant on about alpine but they may have once been the best many years ago but every one else has caught up. And you can do BETTER than alpine. especially in speakers. And sq in amps hahah don't get me started on their digital amps hahaha their V12 amps prob their best in my opinion for sq

  7. I'd really love to get these two beauties stacked on top of each other

Don't know where to buy them though

And if you want sq i wouldn't go for alpine as thats what ive got at the moment and i hate the preset eq they have like set the bass to "80" then "1" for wide bass and treble to "17.5"

    Just pi**** me off

Well i shouldn't say they don't have good sq they do.

It's just that why cant they make head units with nothing to mess with the frequencies???

And from the reviews ive been reading these McIntosh units are about the best sq you will get.

  8. i currently have focal speakers in my corolla running off alpine amp (got cheap would of rathered a focal amp, but alpine will do for now as i think alpine r very annoying with all their preset eq crap :( ) Also considered mb quarts as they have a warmer sound than the focals. But the focals r so clinical in the sound. If you want sound quality go focal or mb quarts. Not the loudest speakers but very very good sq.

  9. Hi all

ive got an annoying problem with my steering, just wondering if anyones got any idea what it could be?

What happens is the steering wheel shakes from side to side, kinda quivering slightly left to right. I've had the wheels balanced twice (14inch alloys) and a 4 wheel alignment. And the problem still seems to be there. It's a 96 model corolla with 140k on it, so would it be the bushes, tie rods or somthing worn out in the suspension. seems to get worse the faster i go 80kph+.

    thanks :)

  10. what size are u after? i'm assuming its for a corolla 195/65r15? Well if it is you cant get the "P Zero Nero" for 15inch wheels.

I have the Pirelli "P6000" on my rolla and they seem a good tyre.

The best tyres to fit 15inch wheels in Pirelli are either the "P Zero Dragon" or the "P6000"

The P Zero Nero's are about the best tyres Pirelli make and they only fit 16inch-21inch wheels

so i guess you would have to get bigger wheels if you really wanted the "P Zero Nero"

    Hope that helps.
