  1. hahaha

Dont forget the 4AGE 20 Valves, that will munch a b16A alive, and will be pretty close against the Type R, Toyota did make that car to compete with them?

Close against Type R, I dont think so. A stock DC2R with a good driver behind the wheel can achieve a mid 14 1/4 mile.

Theres a video on youtube that details the development of the Type R hondas. It amazing how much precision and care is used in making the engines.

Also does an LSD aid in launching a car or is it mainly used for corners.

  2. Does anyone have a sound clip of the ces exhuast?

the only clip i have of a ces on a corolla .... the first car has the CES the 2nd car is stock

    i can "chirp" into second and i only have a 1zz... :clap::toast::yahoo:

So it must be possible in a tivo, yeah?

i believe he was refering to chirping the tyres when changing from 1st into 2nd .... and yes most certainly a stock stivo should b able to do this .....

with regards to the other part ..... yes ur gonna need a lot more power to spin the wheels simply by coming on lift ..... trust me i know :whistling::whistling::whistling::whistling::whistling:

Yeah Xoom thats what i was thinking as well, the only way the wheels will spin is when lift engages in the wet. Bang bang Bang .... :P :P :P

If you can drive, a 1-2 lift change results in quick chirp and off you go...........and breaking the speed limit :ph34r::ph34r:

  3. B16a has vtec man, their engines rev more freely then ours, there is a difference between vtec and vvti, their vtec actually kicks in a 4k while vvti is constant, in my opinion vvti is more for fuel economy, while vtec is more for performance.

But it is possible to say that, a 1zz with a few bolt on mods will be able to take on a stock b16A, even though their the civic does have a few more horseys (88 kw atw) then ours.

Ive see a bubble CIVIC 12.5 that guy has a H22 haha blooby beast that one was.

Yeah the civic you are referring to is the Hi-Comp EG Civic. That car just has an H22A dropped in, with mild bolt on mods, but fully stripped and I mean stripped. Its fastest time to date is 12.25.

The B16A vtec kicks in at 5500rpm or 6000rpm frpm what i remember, not 4000rpm.

  4. Those times are correct. My mate in his EK4 civic stripped, with intake and coilovers only, managed to get a 14.790 at WSID.

The B16A is a bullet proof engine, plus with all that weight reduction does make a difference. The 1ZZFE wasnt intended as a performance engine, where as the B16A was soley developed for this purpose. They will also give us 2ZZGE boys and gals a run for our money. If you cannot maintain Lift in 1-2 change say bye bye. :P

B16A is 118kw standard and roughly equates to 90kw atw from what i have seen. So they have an advantage from the go. Dont underestimate the B series engines, as they were built to perform. Ive seen what they are capable off so be scared :ph34r:

  5. Ok.... havent had time to fix the exhaust rattle.. but i managed to reset the ecu.

    Outcome ...

Def. gained power from mid-range 2000rpm-5000rpm... feels like another "LIFT" or the car is just Spooling harder.. wheels chirp on gears 1 and 2 now b4 hitting lift.

Got to drive it to Great ocean road on Friday and got to go hard on some of the hills, yes u can feel the difference when climbing.

The system sounds great.. bassy note like a remus, but screams when u hit lift with cai.

I rate this exhaust system 9/10.. the other 1/10 is bc the exhaust doesnt look shexc enough.. tip is too small

Def. recommend to all of u guys.

When you say wheels chirp, is that when lift engages or when u change into 2nd before lift. I find it hard to believe our cars have enough power.

sounds like you need to get a ride in another sportivo :P

I have the same combo, CAI and 2.5inch madrel bend catback. Car is definately faster compared to when it was stock, but I wouldnt call it very fast. Car is alot more drivable now I must admit and revs climb alot faster as well

  7. I have a facelift and my rear skirt doesnt fit 100% or it could be the installer, but I did get Dsports to install it. I think it is alittle too long. The sides of my rear skirt have slight openings on the join, which is really pissn me off. But im sure the spacers should fix it. Fingers crossed.....

I have circeld in red where the problem is

    Hey Mate,

Dave at Dsports put 1 spacer for me then I went and put another one in and it sits flush.

    CHeers,

    Gazoom

Thanks Gazoom, I will be doing this shortly. The hole is really annoying me :(

  9. Yep, that's what the Unichip effectively is, though it does timing as well as A/F.

Gains have definitely been seen... but at the end of the day it's better to get something like a Power FC so you can maximize the lift point as well.

I dont really want to go all out for a standalone ECU, as Im not planning to modify hardcore. Ive been doing some reading, will a A/F controller suffer the same problems as the unichip where some people say the factory ecu overrides the tuned settings over time.

I was thinking of an Apexi unit either the SAFC, VAFC or AFC NEO

  10. Do any 2ZZGE owners out there have air fuel controllers and had them tuned? Performance increase??

I was talking with my mate recently and he recommended me to get one, as I have a CAI and exhaust combo.

He said something about having a nice A/F curve to get maximim power. Im not 100% sure on the facts, but in a nutshell the car should be putting enough fuel in and not flooding the engine with excess fuel.

    Feedback would be greatly appreciated.........

If its worth it from the replies I will consider getting one..............

  11. I've purchased the CES exhaust from E-gene..

So far i've got a bad vibration from under and another weird sound from the muffler hitting onto something.

Gain in power i havent felt anything different... im gonna try give the ecu a reset tomz.

So how do i go about fixing the vibration CES owners?

thought it was 100% made for corolla!! :(

Well I purchased Mario's old catback exhuast, its 2.5 inch madrel bend. Power wise I didnt feel any difference at first, but after driving a week the car does feel alot stronger. Down low 0-3000rpm maybe some power loss not 100% sure, but 3000-6000rpm the car feels alot stronger and keeps pulling where as stock the power delivery in that zone felt linear. 6000rpm onwards the car surges forward and the revs climb alot quicker then before.

  12. The stock mats will get heel marks in them and will eventually wear right through. If you have your wife/girlfriend/partner/ boyfriend(one for you ROB!!!) who wears heels dirve your car this will happen even quicker. I have placed rubber mats over the top of the factory ones to help keep them clean and reduce heel wear as my wife drives the car more than i do. Mine is over 3 years old and with the rubber mats on top do not have any holes in my mats.

Cheap rubber mats cost stuff all and I'd rather replace them than the factory ones. ;)

Yeah, I think the culprit is the heel of my shoes. Well its to late now, as i hav a hole in that spot now.

  13. Well Ive had my corolla for a while now and noticed that the genuine corolla floormat has a hole in it, just between where the clutch and brake pedals are. Im not sure if it is a bad habit, but it seems I have worn through the carpet in that spot.

I just want to know does this problem affect others, or is it just me.

  14. Hey guys,

Iam interested, but does anyone know or have an idea how much it would cost to get sprayed, and fitted??.......just dont wanna get it and....find out that its gonna cost me an arm and a leg :P.

    hey dude

if u want in you still can...just pm me and ill give u my details

jaze55 thats pretty good but the installation price is a bit :whistling:

    jonno

Yeah i know its exy haha.

Another pointer to you guys is make sure the hole cut for the exhaust tip is big enough. As my skirt melted abit, but once i extended the tip it was all sweet. So maybe after installation, you should take to get tip extended
