  1. its ALL in the tuning!

98/100 RON fuel wil be fine for CR above 12.5:1 provided u have a really good tune ;)

alot of the all motor hondas are running high comp engines (12/13:1) but only use pump fuel, than again they are very well tuned

DYNODAVE is the reason for the above cars :spiteful: :spiteful: :spiteful:

  2. Give CES a call as I know they have a few sets sitting there. So you may be able to get them to send you a set with a security deposit then you fit them and send your set back and they refund you the deposit?

Give them a call cause that's the only way to know for sure.

As for gains the low to mid range is very very noticable. You can short shift easily and still accelerate with the touch of the throttle when at lower rpm in a taller gear. I could literally drive around town and not go over 3000rpm all day short shifting.

As for flexibility those in Brissy who know MT Cootha the difference with CES over stock headers was that I could go from the botanical gardens up the mountain past the restaurant to channel 9(wife used to work there) in 6th gear. When I got to the round a bout my speed dropped to just under 40 and then I accelerated back up to 60 going up the hill and never had to change down. I lost that jerky low speed shudder that the car gets when you are at low speed in a taller gear and the car will actually speed up not just make noise through the CAI.

Combine a set of headers with a CAI and a good cat back system and it's how a Sportivo should go from factory....

Exactly what i wanted to hear. I will be giving trevor a call in regards to this

  3. I guess this will be my next mod to complete I/E/H and I will be happy. I was playing around with idea of a piggyback or standalone ecu but the gains didnt justify the cost for me. I have read that good headers are the most important part for a N/A engine to perform.

Does anyone have a picture of the CES headers ported. I want to see the differnece compared to stock.

  4. Just wondering if anyone knows how much it costs to get some custom seat rails made up for the Corolla sportivo. I tried to search for a bolt on rail but to no success. I am just looking to get a bride drivers seat or recaro. How much $$$ or does anyone have a contact I can get??

I do not want to modify my stock rails, as I will like to be able to swap between the stock seat and recaro seat.

what am i doing now is i bought a universal rail from autobarn, then just modify it, i think that's the cheapest way and also reliable.

Morice is that the SAAS rails. How much do they cost???

  5. Hi peeps, as Im aware there is a lack of aftermarket headers for our cars. Im looking at the CES headers and can I please have feedback from the owners, eg. what type of gains they have had etc. I do not want to fork out big $$$ for the TRD, so the CES are looking to be the most promising atm. I know they are the stock headers but just ported and HPC coated.

As I need my car, I find it hard to be able to send my stock headers up and wait for the CES headers. Does anyone have a second hand set they are willing to sell??? If not I will give CES a call and see what they can do.

  6. after 10,000k's with Castrol Edge (5w-30) it was fine. It wasn't even as black as other people told me. It's a very very very light coloured oil, so it was actually a pain in the **** to read it properly once it was in. Had no issues with it burning.

I also run Castrol Edge 5W-30 and find it a very good oil for the price. I also experience the problem when filling up, I now just use measurements to fill up 4.4 liters....

  7. ill tell you something about this lift crap they should of made it kik in at 5000rpm not blody 6800rpm it ****s me i have to look at my watch and wait around (may as well order a coffee whilest i wait for it to come on ) after dumping it into second at 9500rpm i hate the lag they made on the gear ratios.......

BUT HELL AFTER HAVING MY SPORTIVO AND DRIVING A VERIETY OF FRIEND WORKED CARS IT'S JUST NOT THE SAME WITHOUT THE VVTL-I I JUST WAIT FOR SOMETHING TO HAPPEN BUT NO ITS JUST A SMOOTH REV WITH NO UMM.... UMFT AS THEY PUT IT.

SO HELL GO THE COROLLA.. NOTHING SOUNDS BETTER.....

AND LET THE HONDAS **** THERE PANTS WHEN WE DRIVE PAST....YEAA

Lift kick in at 6200rpm for our cars and rev limiter is 8200rpm. Just curious I saw in your modlist that you have a Apexi SAFC have you got this tuned and any gains???

  8. you could buy a set of stock seats and chop the rails off those, then get them modified to fit the aftermarket seat. That's one of the easiest ways to get the rails and seat installation engineered.

Or you could buy a set of recaro or bride runx rails from yahoo japan. which usually come to $150-240 a pair

I have looked in a birde catalogue when i was at JDMYRAD and couldnt find our chasis code ZZE123. So no seat rails.

  10. I haven't been looking at the moment lately.

Give Xoom a PM cause I think his tuner is quite good from the sounds of it.

I recently hit my bent my stock exhaust system while reversing into a parking space.......I think its bent just before the cat, and its hitting the brace that is underneath the car. I removed the brace already but not very happy without it there.

I'll be looking at doing a whole exhaust system upgrade first. Still need to get the headers off to get it ported first though.

If you are getting the headers ported please let me know. Might be cheaper if we do it together.

  11. bit off topic here

i have 215/45/17 Dunlop SportMaxx, 17"x7" +42 offset, TRD Sportivo suspension and scrub badly in extreme cornering (ie on track)

normal street driving is ok even with full load of passengers.

Well im looking into getting Bridgestone adrenalines RE001 in this size but I am on coilovers. When you say scrub badly do you mean rubber cutting of the tyre:blink: ATM I am on 1.5-2 finger gaps

  12. the wheels are made by s a company called tennzo lenso sports. but it is still made by lenso. i think this and a few other rims just have a different name. i found these on the tempe tyres website and i rang them up. the wheels are gonna come in mid next week and im gona go and chek it out to see how it looks. these rims come in gold, black and charcoal grey(above). i wanted the black ones but tempe wont be ordering any so might just have to settle with the charcoal grey. i had a look on there website and they do fit the corolla. stud pattern 4x100 offset +42 there $1200 with tyres and lock nuts. might get better tyres though.

O damn you are right they now come in 4x100 as well. Last time i looked they only were avalible in 5 stud. MMMM might be time for more new shoes for the sportivo

  13. Where r u guys getting the TRD short shifter from?

And what is the install procedure like?

    Cheers guys :)

Go to the workshop section there is an install guide Rainman has made. Its very detailed so shouldnt have a problem installing.

  14. Dunno if the TRD CAI is the same with the other intakes that I purchased if it is then.

It will rub on the final bend against the chasis and eventually a hole will appear in your CAI. Solution is to just wedge something between them, I used an old 3" tube cut in half now (I used cardboard before lol).

Yeah i did the exact same thing, The guys at shift were awesome and knew of the problem. They provided offcuts of rubber tubing to be placed at specific points that the pipe rubs the chasis.
