  1. yeh i hate having the feeling of low fuel, and you have that constant feeling that the car's just gonna stop roadside with an empty tank, so you rush to the nearest station... well thats me anyway :P oh and i hear that running a tank dry isn't good because of all the air bubles you can get in the fuel lines :S

  2. yeh my 1zz goes crazy in the wet, i think it might be the tyres, when i replaced mine i went with the dunlop sp sports again, i'm not sure how that performs in the wet, anyone know? but yeh only basic mods and all it takes is a hard turn to go in to a slide, or just a quick takeoff, but its all kinda fun :D

  3. i know this has kinda of been covered before, but i was just wondering which fuel you guys think is the most economic; i only pump shell premium, bp premium (95) and bp ultimate (98), i got a 1zz so can anyone explain to me which one give me the most mileage? not even sure if anyone in the forum cares about fuel economy but i'm poor and fuel is expensive these days hehee

    thanks guys

  4. im here alot too, but i dun kno **** :P so i think dan, blue_stivo, shao... just the ones u see in EVERY thread haha, or even better, one from every state so they can organise club meets, because us perthians are bored :P

  5. yeh i think the sucking from a TRD CAI would break the fan :P but about the 'turbonator' i think its a scam, it sounds like it could improve fuel efficiency, but i don't see how it can produce any power gains, its like this dodgy resistors they're selling off ebay, they apparently do something to the ecu or something and its $20 hehe

  6. Are these the ones??

If so, we had an organised group buy of them but im pretty sure someone wrote up a detailed install guide, it was not too difficult, im completely dumb and retarded with things like this but with the help of a certain few individuals, I was done in under 2 hours :).

yeh there was a group buy, i missed out, hahahha but are these the ones everyone else has got?

  7. yeh sure it costs under $50 per door to replace the pins, but i've done that like a year ago, and its back, so im not spending $50 every year for each door, and the pins im talking bout are the ones which hold the back inside to the door...

and yeh they're using wooden spacers, whats that about it moving away from the door? because the frame does add like an extra 1 - 2cm to the distance

  8. its not a standard system, they're kicker splits, and no popping noise so im pretty sure the speakers are fine, and i've tried holding the door in but it sometimes only reduces the rumble a little, and yeh it does get worse with higer bass songs, im an rnb listener :P i was hoping maybe the pins inside are a bit loose, in that case im not sure what to do apart from replace them, which i've done before, and it costs heaps, like $3 - 4 a pin :|

  9. hey guys i was thinking of posting this is the audio section but i think it might be a corolla thing, just wondering if u other 1zz owners have the same problem, i've had my sound system for over 2 years now and recently on my driver side door a really annoying rumbling sound is coming from it, so are my speakers busted? are the panels just loose? are the original panels just useless? do i need sound deadening material? help me out guys

btw i haven't taken the door off to take a look yet, but just wanted to know if its a corolla thing or just me...

    cheers

  10. well this is what i think, the stivo isn't a sports car, its a sports hatch, i think looks as a great deal to do with a sports car, thats why a celica is more classified a sports car to many people, there is no need to get technical and say that the stivo is one because it has this and that it isn't because it doesn't have this, but when it comes down to it, most people bought the stivo because it a everyday car with some guts to it, not because they're trying to be in the next fast and furious movie, because any smart driver would know to get a r34 or supra if thats what they wanted. so my opinion is stivo isn't a sports car, its a awesome car to have some fun with, feel free to agree or disagree...

  11. i was there about a year ago, and yeh the guy there, Rick... has everything... its worth checking out the TRD bodykit for the sedan.. if u have one! but prices aren't bad, if ur gonna pick it up... i got my eye-lids (pre-facelift), TRD carbon fibre grille, and TRD air filter from him... im not sure if he'll remember me but mention Melvin from Perth, and see if he can help u out... if he can't remember maybe jog his memory by reminding him of what i bought

  12. veering a little away from the main topic, but is it just me or are the sportivo brakes a little weak? i own a normal corolla, and the brakes seem to be more responsive than that of the stivo (both driving at normal speeds), but from what i've read, the corolla has ventilated discs on all fours, while the stivo has discs at the front, and drums at the back... can anyone clarify all this for me? are the brakes on the standard corolla better? or is it just me?
