  1. Oddly enough, I was looking at mine today and it's scratched to. :( Should have covered it with clear contact or similar whilst I had the chance.
  2. Geeze, you guys need to chill out a little! My car is in a lockup garage and the keys are pretty much always in the ignition. I open the door, turn the key, get in, seatbelt, footbrake off, put car in reverse and by that stage the system check is finished. If it's not, I'm happy to wait the second or two..... Its not like I'm in so much of a hurry that a couple of seconds waiting for it is going to be the difference between life and death.
  3. We picked up a 7 seater KX-R, 2WD demo, with front and rear parking sensors, mats, towbar, headlight protectors, 4 months rego and the next service free for $38,500.
  4. No matter what CD or MP3 disc I have in the car, my wife insists on listening to the bloody radio. Go figure. Can't see the sense in spending money on a decent stereo as a result. She makes me listen to the radio when she's driving, so I make her listen to my Jack Johnson albums when I'm driving. :)
  5. Once you've had the seat in and out a couple of times, you'll be an expert at it. I find the seatbelt locking mechanism in the Kluger to be superb when it comes to really locking the capsule into place!
  6. Wierd, mine works a treat. Had no problems parking it on any of the slopes at the touristy sites at Halls Gap last weekend. The one thing that I'll be getting looked at when the 20,000k service comes up (already had the 10,000) is the reverse gear. Maybe it's just me, but when the car is first started in the morning, and put into reverse, it's as noisy as hell!!! If I then put it in drive and cruise off down the road, the next time it goes into reverse it's all ok.
  7. I wont tell you that I play all my games using the onboard AC97 sound and a $20 pair of headphones then.... :)
  8. They look the biz. I wonder if anyone sells them locally? There's a few sets on the US ebay site, but they want $115 to ship them!!!
  9. Thanks for posting Scott. Do you think they stick out enough/sit high enough to stop other car doors from hitting your doors??
  10. How about... no cup holders in the new Subaru Forester!!!!
  11. I wonder how difficult it would be for Toyota to link the speedo into the centre display? It could display the speed as a digital reading and incorporate a speed warning.
  12. Should be able to do it quite easily in the Kluger. VE Commdore 6 cyl has a 0-100 time of around 9.1 seconds. The new Kluger is around 8.
  13. I don't understand why everyone is in such a hurry these days? A lot of people seem to buy nice cars so they can get out of them as soon as possible... I sit with the speedo showing just over the limit. If people want to overtake me, so be it.
  14. I agree with you Peter. My local installed never mentioned anything about the design of the seat not being able to accept the load in the case of a crash. And whilst the location of the load would be different, the seats are designed to hold a reasonable sized adult. I would think that if the seat is approved for, say, a 90kg adult to sit in, and it would be ok in the event of a crash, then a 20 to 30kg baby/capsule combination would be fine... No problems with the second row, middle anchor here. Maybe it's the design of your capsule?
  15. So Scott, what you're saying is, it doesn't really seem to work? :D
  16. Does anyone here have any thoughts on the traction control in the FWD Kluger? It's been raining a bit here in Adelaide today. I stopped at an intersection, saw a gap, put the boot in and the front wheels just lit up all the way across the intersection. Not the way I would have expected the traction control to work.... Anyone else find that it doesn't seem to do much?
  17. No real update. Took the Kluger down to the upholsterer. They took a look at it and say they can easily fit the anchors. Probably not going to get it done until the trip gets a little closer.
  18. Agreed. I use Meguiars as well. Due to the local water restrictions, I take the car to the local car wash and go into one of the bays. I put a couple of dollars in and use the high pressure "Soap" hose. I then rinse it with the high pressure rinser and finish it with a spot free rinse. I'll take the chamois to it and dry it there. Then I drive home and remove any other little spots with the Meguiars Qick Detailer before finish it off with Meguiars Wet Look Wax.
  19. I'm pretty sure the "5 last" display only updates when you manually reset the average fuel consumption screen. Average since refuel updates when you open the fuel cap.
  20. A guy at work just ordered one. Got told 3 months. Turned up in 3 weeks. Sounds like the dealers are being told to say 3 months.
  21. I assume when you finally take possession of your new Kluger that you'll be a happy little Vegemite? :)
  22. And they all use that one... you'd think they'd get a new line. There's two ways around it. You can either: a) Tell them that when they manage to sort something out to ring you, or: B) Ask to deal with the boss directly, since the salesman has no idea what is going on...
  23. I posted this comment elsewhere on this site, but it's starting to smell a little bit like this: "I've heard of dealers quoting prices and signing contracts, only to continually tell customers that their car is still on order. In the mean time, the customer (thinking they got a bargain) sends a couple of other buyers in the direction of the dealer." Now it seems that they are also going to try the old "Can't get your car for a while, but I have this great demo that we haven't been able to flog off" trick on you aswell!
  24. I recently took possession of an '07 plated KXR with 9,000 kays on the clock. We got ours with 7 seats, a towbar, 4 months rego, headlight protectors, mats, front and rear parking sensors and all on roads. Had we purchased it new it would have set me back nearly $49,000. I paid $38,500. I'm not really concerned about resale value as I go through a new car once every 6 to 10 years. I had a price that I wanted to pay and a new one simply wasn't going to fit into that price. If you want to save the money, then go for it. It'll let you buy extra bits you might want. If money isn't an issue, then wait for the new one.
  25. Despite what your mates at the fordforums think: "cough-coughbulls**tcough-cough!!!" I've only passed on what the driver of the Territory told me. I personally don't have alot against the Territory, it was 3rd on my list after the Kluger and Odyssey, and had only been knocked out of second place by the new Kluger.
