  1. Thanks guys. Was hoping to avoid having to fork out 200 bucks for a lousy bit of metal. Such is life. :(
  2. I've got a set of Hella Jumbo 220's that I want to fit to the Kluger. I'm not interested in fitting a bullbar or nudgebar. Has anyone got spotlights fitted using a lightbar or uni-bar?
  3. Well, Toyota came to the party and fixed mine under warranty. Very happy!
  4. Cheers mate. The wife told me I was imagining things, so I've ignored it for a few weeks. The delivery date for my car was the 31st August, 2007, so tomorrow it's one day out of warranty. I'll be jumping up and down if they say they wont fix it!!
  5. Just recently I've noticed that our /07 KX-R has been clunking a little bit from the front end. It's not so much an audible noise, but a feeling through the steering wheel. It's nothing major, just a faint clunk as you turn the wheel around low speed corners, eg: when driving in car parks. Any ideas? It's not due for a service for a while.
  6. I'm with you. The new grille/headlight combination looks like the face of some crazy robot from a Manga cartoon. Has anyone made any inquiries about getting the seat modified?
  7. Good to hear ... but sadly of little comfort to those of us who are looking for replacement 245/55R19 tyres. Maxxis don't do this size. I realise that, but there's plenty here who have 17's! :)
  8. We just put a set of Maxxis HT-750's on. I have found no difference in handling or road noise over the Dunlops, and at $220 a corner they are a damn sight cheaper!

    Dash Rattle

Now mine has started - and it's driving me f&*ken bonkers!!
  10. The wife broke the drivers side rest in our '07. Took it to the dealer for the 30K service the other day and told them about it. They rang today to tell me the part had come in. Fantastic service from Toyota!
  11. Couple of days of work vs potential savings? If time is an issue, then I can't imagine transporting a new car by truck/rail would be much more.
  12. If you buy a new, or near new car, and bring it into the state, I don't think the fees will be as much as you'd expect. Especially if you buy it "on road" interstate. I suggest you check with a couple of rail/truck freight companies and find out what the cost of transporting a car is. Failing that: Sydney to Perth - 3970km's - @ 10L/100 @ $1.20/L = $476 Melbourne to Perth - 3426km's - @ 10L/100 @ $1.20/L = $411 Adelaide to Perth - 2698km's - @ 10L/100 @ $1.20/L = $323 Or just pay the extra couple of grand... Your choice.
  13. Get a price from an interstate dealer. Get a faxed quote or email if you can. Go to your local dealer and tell them what they are offering. If they wont match it, fly interstate and drive it back. A mate bought both his Porsche and his PT Cruiser from Brisbane because they were cheaper, and drove them back to Adelaide.
  14. Does that really matter tho? I'll admit, it took me a while to get over the frustration of being passed all the time on the highway, but now I just remind myself how much money I'm saving. On a trip to the country to visit the folks, then return, I can save myself nearly $20. Mind you, it takes me an extra 20 odd minutes each way.
  15. Are you saying you get 700km's out of a tank????? 2 weeks ago I had to head north to collect a piano from my Grandmother. With the threat of a little bit of rain I decided to hire an encolsed trailer. The smallest I could get was a 17x5! With the piano (and a leather couch I picked up for a mate) in the trailer, we averaged 17.5km/l on the return journey. OUCH!! I found that by sticking it in 3rd and leaving it there, the economy was better than just leaving it in drive. With the selector in D the box was continuously chaning up and down through the gears.
  16. $549.02 with CGU for the KXR. 33 year old male living in Adelaide.
  17. I don't have problems with the headrest when I'm sitting in the vehicle. However, sitting in the passenger seat and trying to have a snooze is a damn challenge!! Compared to the VE Commodore, the head rest is the Kluger is a dream!
  18. Depending on the configuration at the time, we either have two seats in the middle row and leave the middle seat of the middle row out. Or, we put one or two of the baby capsules in the third row, using the anchor points we had installed back there.

    Fuel consumption

Over the last 8,000km I have averaged 11.4litres per 100 with the majority of that being city driving. However, I recently did a 500km round trip to see my parents and the Kluger returned an amazing 8.2l/100!!!! I sat with the needle on about 105km/h which meant I probably spent about 20 - 25 minutes or so extra in the car, but the result was worth it.
  20. I've only got the hook in one side, as you can see in the photos. Another hook can screw into the other side, but I have a plug in it at the moment.
  21. Finally got the Kluger down to have the rear anchor points fitted. They did a top job and I'm very happy. For those that say you shouldn't put babies/young children in the back seat, I say to you "Pfffft!!". :)
  22. I am more than happy with the ride and handling of my Kluger. It's not a frikken sports car and shouldn't be treated like one. Any writer who wants to compare the handling of the Kluger with the Holden Sportwagon is obviously a c*%khead!! I'd like to see them fit 7 people into an MX5.

    2WD or AWD

We have a Subaru Forester and that rarely leaves the bitumen as it is, so I couldn't really see the point in buying the AWD. There's a little torque steer when you really put the boot in, but it's nothing like the front wheel drive cars of old.
  24. No idea, but I've been looking for these for ages. Thanks! According to the companies website, they only ship to mainland USA. So, by the time you ship them to someone you know over there, then get them shipped here, they'll be quite expensive. Need to find some here in Aus.
  25. The fog lights look fantastic, but my wife would have a FIT if I did that... :) Thanks for the post Scott. It's convinced me not to bother.
