  1. New Photo's - and yes I am over it now :D
  2. Thanks for all your nice comments Guys. Some of you obviously think I already have the coilovers - I don't, that's next I have ordered a set of BC racing coilovers through Redline Performance, thanks to JIN for all your reporting back which gave me the confidence to go ahead.
  3. I would laugh at those type too but this is not case here. I was after something originally from TRD. A badge on the mat is not a solution for me. Gees 10k on your Aurion! You must be rich. If you post a list of all the mods you did to your Aurion with 10k, I bet you something would be laughable too (to me at least0 but hey, that's not why we are here in this forum, right? B) yeah go for it. I like to have things "right" too, but you might get a better price searching the net??
  4. I hope not! for your sake. It looks so good. I have seen a black Toyota emblem online somewhere but I'm not sure if it was the fat late model emblem or the smaller older one. Do you think it would be possible to mask and paint on the car? Probably a big ask I guess. BTW did you etch prime the chrome of prep it in any way?
  5. Coming next to an Aurion near me..... coil overs! You can see from my signature image I have changed my original 19" silver rims for these 19" Black and polished rims. It looks very different but I like it a lot especially now with the black eye lids.
  6. Lines? Just an update on the pics. Here are a couple with it on. Hi DJKOR I really like the Black Emblem and want to do this for my car. Did you remove the emblem with a hair dryer and if so, what did you use to stick it back on after you painted it. Thanks in advance for any tips...
  7. No, I am very happy with the 19's I have now and will stay with that size...
  8. Hey good luck BONDIE I enjoyed reading your comments and posts. Nice car too
  9. Thanks Everyone is entitled to their own thoughts which makes for much more interesting cars - even though we tend to follow along with each new development or idea as it comes along (me included) @ 1stKill thanks I think "tough" also :D
  10. Well your very lucky B) I have had a lot of new cars over the years and I think my SX6 Aurion is by far the rattliest of them all. I love my Aurion, I love driving it, but it leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to interior build quality. Having said that, I can forgive all of that for it's unique raw power and handling both of which make for an exciting FWD ride. It's also possible they (Toyota) underestimated the effect of firmer suspension on the interior? with the SX and ZR6 models. I have made it worse of course by putting low profile tyres on. So I'll take some of the blame
  11. are they 2 piece? I think because of the way it's shaped and due to the shadow on it, it appears as a two piece. Looking at the bottom part of where the dip in it is, it seems like it is a one piece. Maybe it's because of the colour it was painted. They are one piece but if you look at your lights there is a sharp ridge in the transformation from the front to the side that's what you can see with a bit of reflective light on it. I have been out and about today and had lots of comments - all positive. I'm very happy with the black. It doesn't show in the picture so much but the whole effect of the eyelid is very subtle. Like everything on our cars WE see all the detail but most people could see something different to the norm but couldn't figure out what straight away. Personally, at the moment, I think colour coded would look good but would basically disappear and not really do anything. I like the contrast and the fact it adds more black - which for me is good! I am changing my rims to these next week (19x8 rims 245x40 tyres) - see photo below and I think it's all starting to come together...
  12. Here's what they look like sprayed black to match the trim. They aren't stuck down yet cos' I want to give the car a good wash first - needs it! Anyway, I think the black looks good so I will be sticking these on.
  13. I don't think there has been any recalls which is fairly typical for car manufacturers these days. There have been reported common widespread issues such as the "dash rattle" and "steering pulling to the left" but none of these have been handled as a result of a recall. Most of these are just fixed during your service or if you bring it to the attention of your Toyota service Centre. And remember not everyone experiences these issue either. I have another Rattle to add. Drivers side door near the top but below the level of the windows towards the rear. Only on heavy chip roads and very close to my ear and annoying. It can be heard by passengers as well if I point it out to them. Because I had the skins off and new speakers put in I went back to the Audio crowd and told them what I was hearing; they were only to happy to pull the lining out and see if anything they did might have caused the issue but everything look tight and secure. I suspect it is in the window mechanism because it is better with the window cracked a bit. All the Holdens I have owned within the VT range had what was often described as a creaking windows" PLEASE! I don't want that again.....
  14. Thanks for the comments. I know any question regarding looks or colour or style is one that has as many answers as there are people. We all have our own ideas. I have dropped the eyelids off at my local panel shop and they mixed up a pot of black to match the Aurion and will spray them for me to pick up hopefully tomorrow. I agree with all of you about the black but a little voice in the back of my head is still saying "go black" so I have. After all I can still go back and get them painted gold. As soon as i get them I will take some photo's. @ Freddo, not sure where the CF colour came from. I always new from my first contact with R Style that they were "unpainted" By this I thought they would be black plastic but in fact what arrived is white. All good because I would always have painted them. BTW the black isn't just black it was a mix of black, white and a touch of yellow - go figure?? To have them both sprayed is going to be $30 + GST total - good price I think. I am sure gold would be a lot more as they would have to get in the smallest tin of Toyota gold paint and my guess that would be 2litre or at best 1litre maybe..
  15. My Eyelids have arrived 5 working days after I placed the order and paid via PayPal. The service from this company has been fantastic and I will definitely have no hesitation dealing with them again. So, they arrived as a grubby sort of native ABS plastic white. They fit perfectly, so all I have to do is paint them. Here's where I want some advice. My car as you can see is Gold. I think black against the gold looks really cool and I first intended to have the eyelids black and I still think that's what I'll do, after all I can always go back and have them re-sprayed gold can't I? I am only concerned it might look a bit like a girl with too much black eye lid make-up; no disrespect intended to any Aurion Girls What do you guys think? and, would you say the black is satin or matte - I think satin... Would a VHT type spray paint look right or should I get them sprayed professionally to an exact match to the black on the car already? Whew! decisions decisions
  16. When I ordered mine they were described as "unpainted left and right set" I'm not so sure the finish will be good enough just to put straight on your car, it might be, but I wouldn't expect that. BTW I have a Gold Aurion and I am having my eyelids painted the same satin black as the main lip and spotties surround. If I don't like that I will get them repainted gold. I guess one good thing about the unpainted plastic being black\grey it will give me an indication if I am going to like the black lid or not.
  17. Oh well all the other trim is stuck on with double sided tape so they won't be lonely in that respect. I drive pretty fast, hope the wind doesn't rip em' off
  18. No, just the eyelids. I was thinking about the window spoiler but not now. I know the eyelids in black will look cool on my Gold Aurion.
  19. WooHoo I've done it! Made contact paid via PayPal and they say it will be sent off tomorrow. They seem a fairly switched on company so far. Always a bit nervouse dealing with overseas companies. I have read many others have used RT Racing before so I am confident it will be ok. Can't Wait!
  20. I really like the look of the Eye Lips. What do you all think about the rear window "spoiler" I wonder if it would be to much with the standard boot spoiler as well? Looks like they don't service New Zealand, but I have emailed them to see if they would and at what price. Do the eye lips need painting or is the black ready for fitting? (I want black I think?) How do they fit - is it something that anyone could do or does it require a panel beater body shop etc ***WOW! that was fast*** they have replied already and they will send to me in NZ! and I see from their reply that they eyelips are unpainted.
  21. Thanks everyone for your replies. I dropped into my Toyota branch today and they immediately took the car "around the back" and removed the console and offending blockage which was, not one, not two but three pens! They also replaced a broken front drivers floor mat hold down - all done for FREE! Good on ya Toyota :-) I have no idea how the pens got there, oh they are mine, other than from the back pocket where the 12v auxiliary is as I do keep pens there from time to time when I am busy answering the phone etc.. Anyway for future reference 2 pens doesn't block the cover but three does hahaha
  22. Haha glad your enjoying my pain mate! I already have done a 1000 &*^^*%^$ and *(^T*^%$% not to mention &%^$*%*#!!! I can't even see the bloody thing or reach it with tweezers. Unless someone has a quick easy method of removing the whole console it will be off to Toyota Dealer on Monday who I suspect will sting me big time and actually get the last laugh - grrrr! Thanks BONDIE
  23. As the photo points to This cover is not opening fully because I think a pen has slipped down under and is blocking the path the cover opens into. I have had a look with a torch but I can't see the obstruction though when it hits on the cover opening it sounds like a pen. Anyone got directions on how I get the console itself open or off to access this area so I can clear the pen? Thanks
  24. But they don't. I have added a Fusion SUB yesterday and the system is really well balanced from Bass through to Treble. I know what your saying re benefits of 6" over 6x9 but in this case it hasn't compromised sound quality at all and several people have commented on clarity of mid and treble from this system and the SUB has just enhanced that. I didn't want BIG boom sounds I just wanted a good response through the range which I have got. BTW the SUB's only a baby - Fusion 10" PP-SW10H with a Fusion PP-AM9002 900W Amp set in a Fusion 10" Sealed Sub Box.
  25. Hey JIN Thanks for your dedicated reporting back here, it has definitely given me the confidence to move forward with BC Racing Coil Overs now that you have confirmed the problem was a mis-labelling one and not a design or model issue. I am getting a radar Detector first then the coilovers. I just fitted a new sub today so coilovers in a couple of month's for me.
