i have a 01/2002 cascade blue corolla levin done 67,***kms.
the story starts out as many do, looking for a car. i found this particular one just before christmas, i finally got the keys on christmas eve and boy was i proud
that was taken on boxing day after i did a visual mods. eg brake calipers, and the TOCAU sticker.
life went on as usual till around june, when after a few things changed in my life, (broke up thankfully) i can now devote much more time love and effort into my car.
so since then these are the new mods items in red still to be put in
engine/ drivetrain
TRD CAI with trd air filter,
energy suspension polyurethane motor mount inserts
genuine toyota engine mounts (just as the older ones are lookin shabby and for plans to come)
wiseco custom made forged pistons with treaded stock 1zz connecting rods
treated and strenghened cylinder head by wiseco
T3/T4 turbo
cutom made tig welded manifold
tightened throttle cable for more responsive throttle.
power fc with hand controller will be here in the next few days
suspension/ wheels
D2 track spec coilovers
TRD front strut bar
kuro intake wheels 17/7.5
hankook rs2 215/45 R17
yokohama advan semi slicks 225/45R17 waiting to go on
exterior mods
sportivo front lip
eyelids
individual TOCAU stickers for side skirt
tinted taillights
the what was i thinking mod blue neon for the front
phillips crystal vision lowbeam bulbs.
blue parkers
rear end resprayed casue i dindnt like the finish of it
debadged rear end and relocated levin badge to the centre
matt black toyota logo front and rear
stereo gear & interior
blue centre console mod with blue interior lights accompanyed wiht blue neons in the front footwells
TRD shortshifter
toyota genuine alloy pedals
clarion max676vd 2 din headunit with ipod cable
alpine vpower 4 chall amp
alpine 6" front speakers with tweeders

welcome, so yes tell us a little about yourself
-
well xooms gearbox needs rebuilding from memory after 248kw atw but yeah either c60 or c64 i wouldnt be fussed with at all :P
-
yep... thats y im up here now. ill probably just get it washed at work on monday. ah the joys of working at a dealership we have detailers there to do all the hard work like that
-
so now does anyone have a c60 gearbox sitting in their garage so i can buy it off them
-
i looked eagerly down at my car saying to myself... i should probably wash it :P
-
im bored and wonder if anyone wants to go for a drive tonight
-
ah the joys of a simple install nothing i can experience with my setup. good luck with it evan
-
yeah thats a fair increase for a 1zz
-
so according to that graph the 2zz 6th gear has higher geared top speed and slightly in 3rd gear so would it be then better for top speed to go for the c60 box over the c64
-
mine will be revving higher than normal so will be better than stock 1zz and just differanty ratios
someone can do th math if they want id like to see it lol
-
welcome mate glad to see another 1zz owner in syd. yeah hopefully we'll see you on the next cruise
-
ok then but yeah better ratios for us 1zz owners
-
Buy bucket seats :D !
cant really im gonna try and get away with toyota corolla seats that werer desgned form my car..ish but nah im not really allowed to remove aibag seats
-
there should be better acceleration as the ratio is lower slightly, so i think it woulld be overall better in everyway
more gears, more able to take power, more reliable, quicker etc

lol funny story at work todayabout airbags.
a customer managed to sett off 3 airbags within 15m of the driveway out of my work
brand new mk6 golf 6 TDI hit a merc ml ran up a gutter hit a pole and drove into a brick wall. the car is a writeoff from it
damage to almost every panel except rear left door. 3 airbags went off in the process so yeah exciting. the driver went to hospital with leg injuries of some kind not to sure ho bad though
but my plan was to buy a wrecked sportivo, swap the gearbox when i take out the engine for the build, interior over into my levin after everything else is done but... i contacted the rta and im not allowed to remove airbags of anykind that were factory fitted unless engineered by an approved rta place so big paain. i argued to him that only 1 version had side airbags and the rest didnt so it does not affect safety in any way to making it below what toyota designed it to have but he repeated himself saying enginnered this laws and beaurcratic mumbo jumbo so im looking into a retrim with less side flex for better cornering :P
-
and the celica gearbox be exactly the same as the corolla box. would have to check toyota catalogue for that one im guessing. and the drive shafts are from 2zz aswell??? it would be better to run both shafts from the 6spd
strut bar for 96 corolla
