  1. Depends on where you are with the stubby antennas. Of course a shorter antenna will not be as good as the original 41cm one, though you won't notice a difference with quality unless u go undercover parking etc. The shorter the antenna the weaker the signal will be. In saying that you can get an adjustable stubby antenna which will give u the options to extend the length for better reception if need be.

Shortantenna ebay store is a nice seller, check them out.

  2. so i need a new pod an a 6mm vacuum cap??

any idea how the cap looks like?? :help:

It's like the cap included with the TRD CAI. Just go to autobarn or some auto place and get 6mm vacuum caps.

I'm going to try and fit in the TRD, heard it was a pretty meaty sound due to it's huge size.

Thx for help with the supplies. If it arrives at work tomorrow, I'll have to pull a quick medical condition so I can go home and play with it.

Kenji ? Did you run it with the trd, or just straight install with the Drift. I also read the drift was good, so good call.

No doubt mine will be caught up in the mail or something and I'll have to wait here like an expectant father. Fingers crossed.

I ran it straight with the Drift pod, no point trying to force the TRD pod into the little space. The Drift pod is about 2" shorter and it clears the foglight with like 3 cm.

If you put the TRD pod on it'll definitely be squashed and will eventually melt. See this post http://toyotaownersclub.com/which-pod-filter...se-t467-15.html and look at the TRD pod after a few months of usage haha.

  3. Yes I'm a fast one hehe.

I'm using the drift pod because I couldn't find an apexi power intake and frankly didn't want to spend $50 more for the same results. I did my research before I got everything :D

  4. If you've got ur fogs covered up, the mudguard under the car attached, and drive smart while it's wet then you've got nothing to worry about. I don't think the oiled pods will offer that much more protection if you're gonna drive through a massive puddle at 60km/h

If you see a high level of water on the road, drive through it slowly and you'll be fine

  5. It sounds awesome Whitestivo:D

You can definitely feel the extra power at the top end. It makes it alittle easier to maintain LIFT while shifting but not by much.

If you couldn't do it before the CAI, chances are you still can't do it now with it

Get someone to help you install it, makes it faster than doing it by yourself hehe.

You'll need a 6mm Vaccum Cap and a new Pod because the TRD is SOOOOOOO BIG and won't fit unless you take out your foglight.

Best options are Apexi Power Intake or the Drift Urethane Pod. I bought the Drift pod because it was proved that it has the biggest increase in power due to better air flow and has very good filtration and is only $40.

Get the vaccuum cap and Drift pod from autobarn or you can get the apexi pod from somewhere. I say these are the best options because they're dry pods and don't require oiling as K&N and others do require oiling and don't provide as good filtration.

Also oiled pods are not good for our MAF.

  6. Well my TRD CAI arrived yesterday while I wasn't home. It's now here with me :D.

Though I'm not sure whether I'm going to use the TRD or CES CAI.

imo.. id stick with trd... not worth the trouble.. selling and ordering ces..

but if the kw is that important for you..

stuff the cai.. go get a SC... :P

anyway.. let us know wts the trackin code on ur parcel.

so the other guys will know.

EDIT: oooo the WA guys will be ready for the mega meet!! niiiiiiiiiiiiice!

It's all Installed now and it goes well:D

    CJ171615787US was my tracking number.

And yeah i'm gonna stick with the TRD one, get coils first then get CES headers and exhaust and think about changing lol. Wouldn't take long, unbolt and rebolt haha

  7. Has anyone changed the tacho to blue before on the forums? I was thinking of doing the whole internals blue with the centre console and dash and door sills blue just so they all match my headunit.

If not then I guess i can have 2 tone. Centre area is blue and sides are red hehe. Might be a good contrast :D

  8. Hey silva could please give us all an update about this group buy???

An approximate cost would be greatly appreciated :D

    Thanks

    Levinboy

I'll have to point Silva back to this thread, but he was telling me the other day a minimum of about 5 would be needed on each item for it to be worthwhile for CES to set up the jigs and bend the pipes. The manifold I think would be an exception, but it would only help me thinks.

I thought that they always had stock on hand, that's what they said in the emails they sent me
