West Side??? Hmmmm...Man I'm so freakin' obsess with having to meet ppl here on the TOCAU that I don't mind travelling all the way there. But the question is would you guys there in the West come all the way here in the East for a meet???
So I don't mind going 2morrow...that's if ppl here on the East want to still meet at Burwood K-mart???
Either way I'm good to go...that's how determined I am!!!
I hope I'm setting a good example to ppl here as to me really wanting to have a weekly meet!!!

Maybe just the Eastsiderz...can meet tonite???
1ZZFE what u think dude???

Have you actually turned up to the past meets/cruises or Dyno Day? We've done plenty of show and tells.
Moving on, we require:
-Someplace Central (To segment Members East/West defeats the purpose of having frequent meets)
-Someplace that has a large car-park with good lighting (No point meeting in the dark)
-And not Coburg Macca's please.
I can only think of Docklands at the end of Bourke St - There are two car parks, but I don't know how much these fill up on a Thursday night.
Well...where ever it is...I don't care as long as we have a weekly meet.
We need to be established...and it would be good to have a permanent one.
So when newbies here in Melb are looking in the club meet section, they can straight away see 'Melbourne Meets - at ...................... every (whatever night)'
So they dont have to start a new topic or ask anymore repeated questions.
But this is only going to work if ppl here are down with that.
Melbourne needs to REPRESENT!?! It seems the majority of the corolla owners here in TOCAU is in BRISBANE...more like the H.Q.

EGENES cafe
Cafe Crema...is a nice joint!
But problems with parking dude!!!
We need a big space for a meet...then we talk...about going to E-Gene's Cafe.
Weekly Meet come ppl...man...Brissy boys are kickin' our A$$!
Man...us Melbournians...are hopeless when it comes to meets...we're all talk...but no action!!!
Ppl here are net freaks man...doesn't anybody here go out at all??? Too busy chatting here on the Forum man. Members here in Melb...put down all sort of mods for their car, but no pics!!! Why don't we all meet up and show and tell???
Let your car do the talking...not your ego!
So if you're true...then let's all have a meet. No ''BS'' about busy...tired...blah...blah...blah...etc!
Just come along and meet up man.
Bring it on...
-
hmm icic
well you gotta keep in mind sunshine is next to the cop station
Yeah...I know
It's also near VicRoads...so we can all get a Yellow Sticker too
But we can't get into trouble for just having a meet...yeah???
Unless we start to do burnouts??? <--- in reverse!!! :P
I'm always at Burwood K-mart man...so if ppl want to meet then I'm there!!!
-
if someone organises
im in haha
unless im working i wont be able to make it
other than that should be no prob
east and west meets as in have separate meets?
or all go to east one week
next week its in west
then have an occasional central meet
is that what your saying?
Exactly...we all go to each meet. All the east go to west...and vice versa.
and once a week we can have a central meet. On the east I want it to be at K-mart 24/7 in Burwood...Fri or Thurs nite...either one. On the West...well you ppl there decide where. Highpoint...or Sunshine shopping centre.
-
burwood is like 1 hour drive for westsiders
>.<
Well we can have an EAST and WEST meet.
For you guys there in the WEST, we can have a meeting point let's say Highpoint???
And for the EAST the Burwood K-mart!!!
And we can alternate...this week East meet then the next week West meet.
Then once a month we can have a central point somewhere in the middle. Also once a month we can organise either a cruise, niteclub, drive thru...etc.
I understand Melbourne is big (compare to Brissy) But the Brissy boyz (and galz) have a Northside and Southside...(Yeah I know coz I'm from brissy too...I miss Southbank and Mt. Cootah...not to mention Gold Coast) Anywayz...we can have it like then...to make it fair on both sides!!!
Either way, I really really really want us Melbourne Corolla owners to have a WEEKLY MEETING...so peeps...let's make this a MUST!!!
-
Can someone confirm this for me.
When I reset my ECU, I disconnect the negative lead from the battery and leave it for 30 mins then re-connect it.
Is that how you disconnect the battery???
Just want to know if that's how you do it and if I'm doing the right thing???
Does it matter which lead? Positive or Negative? Will taking the negative lead give me a negative outcome???
P.S. Also...has anyone notice that when you reset the ECU, the car seems to be sluggish for the first 10 mins??? Everytime I reset, (Yes I idle the car for 5 mins, then disconnect the battery again for 30secs) my car is so sluggish that sometimes it feels like it's gonna stall. I've find a way to stop this by swicth the car off (I park the car first) the starting it up again. This seem to stop the idling problem. But sometimes the recalibration is crap...like slow pick up and sluggish. I just reset the ECU again.
Has anyone here have problems when they reset their ECU???
-
So...K-mart Burwood??? Firday Nites???
I think we should have a meeting point, then we can decide what the majority wants??? Have something to bite, go for a cruise, go for a movie drive thru??? Or just hang out and talk to fellow members and check each others cars and give advice to the newbies!!!
Us Melbourne...Corolla owners should have a WEEKLY MEETING!!! It's a must!!!
I believe alot of newbies are thinking about it as well. So peeps...I'm suggesting Bruwood K-mart!!! Parking is huge!!! Either Thursday Nite or Friday Nite!!!
-
Melbourne peeps...
Is there a permanent meet (Melbourne) like the ones in Brissy??? (Sunnybank Maccas every Thursday???)
It seems like the Brisvegas boyz are more active than us Mexicans???
If not, then can we have a weekly meet???
(Maybe Burwood 24/7 K-mart Friday nites???)

Hey Big A$$...how the F$%# did you come up with your Killed list Bruh???
Man you must be high or something...u shouldn't be smokin' that sh!t ni**a!
I mean look:
Killed by List: Nissan 200sx S15 Turbo - Toyota Supra N/A - Honda Integra VTIR - Pergueot 206 GTI - Toyota MR2 Turbo - Renault Clio Sports - Nissan Skyline R33 GTS - Ferrari 360 Spider
S15 Turbo??? MR2 Turbo? R33 GTS? and a Ferrari 360???...dude...ur trippin man.
YOU HAVE A COROLLA!!! WAKE UP!!! FOOL!!!
-
Personally, the way I see it is unless your gonna do some serious stuff to the engine, then why move it????
I have seen it done a million times on different cars, but moving it for the sake of moving it I feel is a bit ;) I guess I have heard too many stories of peoples batteries and cars catching fires from not being wired properly...
Why were you wanting to do it anyway?
The reason why I started this Topic is because I wanted to make a Custom pipping for a CAI. And all 2001 onwards model corolla would know that the freakin' battery is infront of the throttle body!!! Hence CAIs like AEM, TRD, Ingen etc...have made a CAI that goes around the stupid thing!!!
What I had in mind was swapping the battery to where the factory air box use to be. Not a big move...(like putting the whole damn thing to the boot) It's more like moving the battery up-wards. So now where the battery was use to be is free, and I can make a better CAI pipping...(instead of going around it)
That's it...so I put this tread wanting to know if ppl here have done something similar or any ideas.

Rollamods...thanks for the info and pic. But my car is a 2003 Corolla.
So need help in that car model.
dude! every car's the same in terms of its basic electrical concept....
can't you be a bit creative?? instead of asking people to hold your hand in doing your custom job?
custom jobs are called "custom" coz it does require you to think and design a "custom" approach to your problem....
peace... :)
Dude...I've got plans of my own inregards to the relocation of the battery. I just wanted to know if ppl here have done it...hence it would give me a better understanding and know how. And I don't know jack all when it comes to electrical stuff...
The ppl here at TOCA have been very good and have hold my hands for some guideance...before.
But in your case Pippy...you didn't hold my hands because your too busy with you own hands under your hood... (Pippy) ''No Pun Intended'' :D
PEACE OUT ... Bruh...

That's the intake snorkle/pipe. The resonator is the white "bottle" below the intake, inside the quarterpanel behind the splash guard only on 1zz engined models.
So if you take the intake snorkle/pipe, then there's no need for the resonator white bottle??? Is there a way of taking the bottle out??? Would you make any difference in noise/air flow/power???
-
yeah, i've been eyeing the exas for a while and the old mr2s as well, we'll see, i don't like the idea of selling my rolla but family is family no?
Dude...Get an MR2 MkII Turbo 1990 model's are going for cheap!!!
I'll second on you on that choice. I'm thinking of getting one myself soon!!!
Oh make sure it's the targa top version...nice for summer!!! :D :D :D
-
I just disconnected the airbox intake tubing and replaced it with, nothing. Man what a difference it makes to airflow, the engine seems to breath much easier, though i'm yet to test it extensively. Just the hand infront of inlet whilst throttling before/after.
Of course, the resonator is now disconnected too, man, it sure is louder. Much more boomy.
But now I'm scared for my warranty guys... :o There's no chance I can damage anything is there?
Can you take and pic and post it??? I want to see what you have done.
What resonator are you talking about??? And what do you mean by: 'Just the hand infront of inlet whilst throttling before/after???'
Take pics

id liek to see it fully installed
There's an in-car PSP holder you can buy. And you can connect your PSP to your CD player. This is not for the stock CD player of course. You need to buy a CD player with a audio connection that your PSP can plug straight into.
Pulling apart the PSP is complicated and crazy. I don't want to stuff things up man.
I thinking of replacing my stock CD player with the PSP as well. Will post some pics when I've done it! :P
