  1. thats normal, when you lower a car the wheels gain negative camber (top of the wheel leans in) the lower you go the more camber you will get. more camber = better turn in, im running -2 on the fronts

Northy...how about mine then? Mines the rear wheels. Would that do anything when I'm cornering??? I would understand the front wheels (bcoz that's the turning wheels) but the rear???

Also, I don't want to wear out my tyres too soon!!! If I want to make then straight, is it a simple job to do? I'm thinking of calling Donellans today and get it straighten up.

    Thanks

  2. Hey...peeps it's moi again. Just wondering if you guys have heard of the brand name Summit??? There's this shop near my place that's selling Front tower strut bar for $200! Is that to pricey, for that brand??? Don't even think it's made of Aluminium it's more like plain metal.

    Any thoughts...

Also where can I get a good and resonable price Strut bars??? (Melbourne)

    Cheers :D

  3. You should have had your wheels aligned after fitting the new springs.

I don't know enough about camber to judge what would be acceptable or not, but the service manual has specs for camber that I can check later on if you need.

Otaku...Yeah I had 4 wheel alignment after it was lowered. I don't even know if it's the Camber or whatever. I just want to know if lowering the car, should both the rear wheels be turning in (the top part of the wheel) towards the springs. I just had a look at my car again, and I would say that it's in by atleast 1cm on both ends!!! I don't know if that would be a good thing (for the tyres front and rear) or not?!?

I got it done at Donellans in Box Hill...was thinking of giving them a call and find out if it's ok. Though I just want to try here first (forum) and get it from my fellow Corolla owners.

But thanks anyway for the reply...

    Cheers

  4. Hey...peeps...Got my Corolla recently lowered (by 40mil F/R) with King Low Springs!!! I'm very happy with the outcome (better handling and sharper cornering)

Yesterday I was admiring the Car when I was parked and I noticed that the 2 rear wheels are off camber?!? I don't know if that's the proper name for it?!? The top pf the wheels (below the wheel arch) are in more that the bottom. I would say about 5 mils or more. I've got 17 inch BSA Rims and 215s. The front wheels are straight and fine.

    Now the question is:

1.) Is this normal when you lower your car on King Low Springs?

2.) Has anyone else has this kind of offset???

3.) Is it better to have it that way? (Better for cornering?)

    Thanks for the feed back

    PEACE :D

  5. Anytime my friend. Thanks for your comment, I am sure others in this forum can help you also the way it helped me reached the point i am at with my car. Yeah, the K&N will be better than stock, give it a bit more time for the ECU to adjust the new air flow, i guaranteed your throttle respond will be smoother. Next, do the throttle body coolant bypass, you won't regret it :)

Yeah by the way tell how to go about that will ya? Can you send me a link or a step by step info for the throtte body coolant bypass?

    Thanks Again Danz

  6. how often do u need to repalce the pod or clean it??

danz, i went to the suprastore.com and was trying to find the cai for corolla but none was there. do u actually order the one for mr2? this is the american website, isn't it? how much does it take to send the cai over here?

    cheers

    tony

hmmm, i am not sure, but u will need to clean it after a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time. Although, each 10000km is not a bad idea aswell to clean it. I read that dust particle actually helps the filteration too, i got that from K&N cleaning kit manual.

Yo...Danz...thanks alot for the K&N air filter. The Corolla runs better around mid-range.

Also thanks for all the info inregards to the basic mods for the Corolla. I appreciate it.

P.S. Man you're car is pretty good man...keep up the good work!

I'll buy the clear tail lights in a few weeks then I'll take a photo and post it here.

    Cheers

    PEACE

  7. Yo...xoom if you've upgraded to CAI, do you still have your TRD panel filter?

If so, how much are you willing to sell it? Does it matter if you put a sports panel

filter or a CAI to an automatic 2003 corolla?

P.S. Danz...the website you posted is under construction!

    PEACE OUT

  8. Thanks Xoom and Danz for the info. I've got a 2003 Corolla Ascent. It's stock at

the moment. Tho i've got 17 inch wheels and 215 tyres on it. I've got a sports

muffler but I had to take it off coz I was caught by the EPA for being too loud!

My air filter is very dirty so I was thinking of buying a new one. But I might as well

go for a sports air filter like K & N or some other brand. I want to put a CAI on it

that's why I came here for some info.

    Cheers

  9. Hello...I was thinking of buying a KN air filter, but not the pod (the rectangular shape). It cost $110 from Repco.

Is it going to give me some power compare to the CAI?

Or is there a Air Flow Meter adapter that you can buy, so you can put a pod filter?

Also, where can I go inregards to Corolla parts and modifications? Around Melbourne?

    Thanks
