  1. Encouraging too here that, re rattles and Territory rattles. As the Missus wanted the Territory as it was more car like for her to drive with better confidence. Bad service at the local Ford dealer enabled me to buy the Kluger without an entry into her diary to raise when we have a blew next. Plus I hate interior rattles with a passion.
  2. Cookie, Now your have me looking to the left all the time now looking for that ripple, that I've yet to notice. The missus is gone think I'm eyeing her off. B) Seriously, I too will look today when I'm out and about.
  3. Agree with your extract of assumptions here. Plus the mute button in R & S models went under the parring knife too. Pulled in to the drive-in at the local Tavern for a traveller on the way home home from work today and had a Territory in front of me. He missed judged his door handle upon re entry to his vehicle, whilst viewing my beasts front end. I will excuse Mr Toyota for no mute button.
  4. Bump, Must be tradie or factory dealer bloke who has a paint code or access to find out for us. We are all gona need it need it by this time next yr, I'm presuming with a degree of confidence. Cheers Garry
  5. I don't believe cost cutting has really entered into the equation Alex. As there are many other features that come standard across all models within the Kluger range. That the Territtory just doesn't have until more bucks are handed over. Ie; 7 air bags, LED "Mr Bean" beam that lights the console, rear camera, airconditioning seperation, captain's chairs, vanity mirror lights, split tailgate, etc, etc, blah, blah. I believe it's a bad over sight not having the centre dig speed display like a commodore. Hey I believe the positves far, far out weight the negatives within this vehicle as we would all agree me thinks. But determining the amount of over allowance on every trip by manually over stating the tightly spaced speedo calibrations. To avoided the rest of the carbon based users from tailgating us or over taking us, is a daily hassle put upon us by Toyota. Please Mr Toyota find a laptop plug in fix for us at our next services. I've never had a speeding ticket in 29yrs of driving. Having my Cannon calculator "Blu-tacked" to my horn surface on the steerring wheel for re calibration is gona get me a ticket when I mis judge it by 2 k's soon. Plus when I turn around corners the calculator goes upside down
  6. Well, I now know I'm not alone with this speedo thing. Together with the small spacings to determine your presumed speed on the dial. It ain't easy to judge the speed like my last Commodore with the Lge digital display in your face. Please give Toyota your feedback at your next service re this. Maybe at our 20,000 services, they will a software upgrade to reduce there error margin to 3 to 4 ks above actual, which would be fine.
  7. Thanks for the reply. Is that fitted (everything included wiring etc)? Yes totallly fitted, the invoice quotes $600 and 10% gst down the bottom of it showing GTotal of GST. I have 5 accessories add ons and all were quote much cheaper than three other quotes. They must have room to move on this. I was expecting a wiring harness charge to be addedas a, "forgot about that" but no it was $600 +GST
  8. Edited some of the post I must admitted 2 weeks after delivery in a 60k dual lane zone I went past the speed camera and looked at my speedo. To see it at 65ish and thought the dreaded outcome of doing such. Until I learn't later on of the displayed overage margins. Cheers Garry
  9. (KX R and S models) The centre console appears easy scratchable and I've read on forums that even a tissue box constantly rested in front of the centre console openning lid can scratch/abrase that area. I sit me portable UHF and Mobile in the left console cup holder to minimise a scratch chance. Whilst warn passengers to take care of the painted area. But my time will come. I've asked the toyota dealer for the paint code for down the track, but there is none available. They say if and when it scratches up the towns car detailer who repairs vinyl etc will be able to do a reasonable fix. Which is probably fair enough. Anyone out there or in the trade got the heads up on the paint code. Because I know I gona need it one day.
  10. Alex, it was only a matter of time before I registered here I guess. It's an annoying error margin, hope enough provide feedback to toyota during services. To enable an acceptable 3 to 4 k margin fix down the track. Garry
  11. The US sites have reported a fair portion of Dash/Mirror rattles as they have been through there winter. Although some of there regions are well and truely sub zero conditions unlike us unless your in the Alpines. During that recent cold snap in Victoria the other week. I drove from the NSW/VIC border to between Colac and Apollo Bay and experienced my first non stop dash & front window frame rattles in the cooler conditions of the early morning. On bumpier back roads main road links. One rattle is at the plastic join between the dash and the top on the front air vents. But my dealer my have instigated that one upon installing my Bluetooth/6stacker upgrade. But the edge of the window frame twiching noise was reminisent of a new commodore I once had. After many trips back to the dealer, resulted in the findings of insufficent window sealer bonding the window. That was only noticable in the morning prior to the sun heating up the window area in winter. It will be interesting this winter if southern vic/ alpine and tassie folks experience the amount of dash rattles our Highlander cousins have noticed in their winter.
  12. My Nov07 Kluger is the first time I've had a Toyota. The speedo needs to be showing 118lm(No less) to being doing 110km and 67 whilst actually doing 60km. None of my previous new commodores every two yrs had such an error margin to deal with. The dealer says thats within toyota's tolerance and the new au design rules require speedos to be "X" amount of speedo reading in overage. At service time for every customer who complains about the high overage. They lodge a complaint notification to Toyota in hope a fix my become of it one day. I would be happy with a 3 to 4 k overage at 110, but nudging towards 8 km is excessive and 7 k at 60Ks. Have others here found the same??
  13. I been sitting on the fence within this forum and together with the US forum for some time. But tonght I'm gona ask. I know theres a Grande link instruction to increase the Bluetooth volume for the person thats hearing you from the car. But I'm finding that peoples I call have trouble hearing me properly. I hear them fine. I have a 6120Nokia with the latest '08 software download installed. The mobile sits in the cup holder or me pocket. The local toyota dealer says there is no fix to increase the mic pick up sensitivity within the unit. Prior to my 10,000 k service I will have to pair up some other family phones to see if it's just the 6210 causing it. Do others here have this concern or is there a fix my dealer doesn't now about. Feedback welcome.
  14. Vegimite, My gen toyota towbar complete with 7 pin regtangular harness/plug was at an all up total cost of $660. No potentail warranty issues, all fitted prior to delivery, no hassle basically. Although the female tongue does have excessive clearances tolerances within the male socket, The local dealer is happy to fix, as the right side tensioner nut does not stop movement under load.
