  1. Holy Krwap, $700!?!? I totally dismissed the windscreen cover when asked by AAMI at the time, the front glass on my falcon only cost $140 to replace so I figured stuff it, I'll just chance it and cover it myself. I'll be calling insurance company tomorrow to add it on, Cheers Emmanuel for bringing it to my attention.
  2. Was done buy they guys at "The Tyre Factory", the wheel shop I got the rims from, $150. Apparently it looks even better when the car is in motion, but cant see it, my gf won't learn manual, grone. I know I could have done it myself but without a car lift, air ratchet gun, level driveway or time, it would have been an A-hole of a job. 150 bucks is reasonable I do recon. 2.25 pipe next
  3. Does anyone know of a good exhaust shop in the Southern suburbs if Melbourne? I’m thinking about a 2.5” catback with a Remus muff for my ZRE152, anyone know if Remus is any good? My bike has a huge Remus and it sounds great, but I guess that don’t mean junk on a Rolla, lol.
  4. Would be better if they where huge Bremos, but whatever, look good enough
  5. What a load of sh!t. Doesn't matter if the dealership is small or big, they have exactly the same incentives from TMCA! At the end of the day, if you shop around, and then go to the dealership that's in your PMA (i.e. your closest dealership), they'll generally do the best deal for you. Who gives a cr@p about fancy cinemas, cafes and all that other w@nk Mercedes-Benz type stuff! I don’t know why different dealers offer different prices, I’m just telling what I experienced, and they all did give different offers, and not just Toyota dealers. And I think good post-sale customer service is important, not totally essential, but good.
  6. Buying in Melbourne, do NOT go to Chadstone Toyota, they are very small and do not have the buying power to offer a very good deal. I would highly recommend Brighton Toyota, outstanding service and communication even after deal was done. They have a cinema, lounge and cafe at the dealership you can use while your car is being serviced or washed. Very cool. PS. dont get the sat nav, its seriously over priced and you will definitely want to upgrade the sound system very soon, its rather ordinary.
  7. I just got myself a ZR Rolla, got a good deal because I played 4 different dealerships against each other. Went to the first, got a price in writing, went to the next and showed them the quote and asked if they could better it, they did, then take that one to the next dealership and repeat. After about 2 weeks of going from one to the next and back around again, I probably saved around thousand bucks at least. I got a ZR with moon roof, unlimited free car washing for life, 6 year warranty, fixed price servicing including parts, metallic paint, “17 ANZ predator wheels (that I selected and asked the dealership to get for me (cost $1200 with rubber, less $900 back for return of the stock wheels). Total cost $31,350 drive away, very happy with it, worth the work. Get the ZR over the SX, the gizmos are very cool, I love em, despite the fact they are not necessarily the most useful things in the world, the cool factor rules, lol.
  8. My ZR Rolla has a LED engine temperature gauge, which looks cool, but oddly I’ve notice it never moves, even at start up first thing in the morning its always in the middle, is it supposed to be like that or is it supposed to be cold sometimes?
  9. Yea I've been to Ryda, the JVC is nice but I recon the Kenwood is cooler, I do think unless I see something better in the next 2 weeks I'll get it (assuming I can find it), I miss high quallity sound. The Kenwood DPX-MP3110 has mad lighting, can cycle through all its colours or change according to music frequency level, sweeeeet, I gota see this. And I love the multi function knob. Its not quite what I was after, but close enough I guess. I love the look of the Clarion WXZ466MP (classy), but no bluetooth. http://india.kenwood.com/products/car/2din...0/features.html (The inda website has better pictures and movie) http://clarion.com/au/en/products/2008/aud...2391745143.html
  10. I dont think its that bad, its not good, but might look better if it was body coloured, or on a different car, something with a longer rear hatch (more coupe like) such as a 2000 model civic, maybe old skool CRX or something. Its a nice try, different.
  11. Don’t you hate it when you know exactly what you want but no one is selling it? I have a ZR rolla that needs a sound system make over. I don’t want to have a blank panel or tray under a single DIN head unit so I want a double DIN. I have got accustom to the Bluetooth hands free of the stockie so it must have that, must look cool with colourful display but not outlandish, don’t want cassette or DVD, I’d settle for single CD but 6 stacker would be cool. Is there such a unit available at the mo? Can anyone make and suggestions? I do like the Kenwood DPX-MP3110. (http://au.kenwood.com/Car_Entertainment/2DIN_Receivers/DPX-MP3110)
  12. Low enough? LOL Would definitly look good, maybe in time.....
  13. Some king springs would be great, I do like a lowered ride, but for some screwed up reason there are alot of steep driveways around my area (shops, work, pub and local takeaway shop just to name a few) and I worry I'd be forever scraping its lip, on a brand new car I doubt I could handle the stress. Na, red calipers, catback exhaust and sound system next, I recon that will do for now.
  14. Finally took delivery of my new ZR Rolla, Cheers to the guys at Brighton Toyota (VIC), Free unlimited car washing for life, awesome. Looks great with the 17” ANZ Predators. Has anyone put "18 rims on a ZRE152 yet? The guys at the wheel shop quoted $150 to powdercoat the calipers red. Recon it would look good?
  15. If you’re looking for useless mods, why stop at a straight through pipe? Go all what way…..
  16. After I’ve installed the new CD player in my '08 ZR Rolla, it’s going to have DIN sized hole under it, obviously it needs to be filling and I guess the logical thing to do is to just get a new face that has a panel or a tray. This is kind of boring and I’m wondering if anyone has some other ideas? I was thinking a set of 3 2” gauges, they look great even tho not really necessary. How hard are they to wire in? (water temp, oil temp, oil pressure) . I might get the panel and stick a Levin badge on it. My old Falcon had a tray so I stuck a small blue neon in it with sensor so it flashed with the bass, looked great but the Rollas CD player is eye level so probably not a good idea. Anyone else got other ideas? I'm open to suggestions.
  17. The extra wire, did you tape it up before you put the head unit in? If not it may be touching something metal and causing your fuses to blow. Does the 2002 Corolla have a power antenna? If it does that could be what the extra wire is for, modern cars don’t seem to have extra illumination wires (that I’ve seen), they just always illuminate (great how modern LEDs outlast the cars). If it’s for the antenna its perfect for powering your amp if you have one. Check the extra wire is sealed and try again.
  18. Na I get it, I totally understand, he’s wants the cop’s attention, to be a notorious street king in the target sights of the boys in blue. It’s worth the fine and yellow sticker to be seen messing with the law right? Hahahaha It’s all about the image isn’t it? Come track day “oh darn it, its running rough, I’ll run next time guys”. Might save some weight to remove both the fully sik 22" sub-woofas mate,
  19. Well I’m glad I asked, didn’t know a cannon would sound krup on a NA 4cyl. This is my first 4 banger ride, my last 2 cars have been V8 Falcons. Thanks for the advice guys. I’m looking into stainless catback systems now. Can anyone recommend a good exhaust shop on the south or east side of Melbourne?
  20. Goto www.anzwheels.com.au and www.bobjane.com.au/wheels, both these websites have a cool feature that let you upload a pic of your car and then put their range of wheels on it so you can see how they look. I just got myself a set of anz 17" predators, in hyperblack for my ZR rolla, very sweet, real pic comming soon.
  21. Just looked up the varex, the remote mute is neat but I don’t think I really need it. Check out this vid of a Soarer with Viken pipes, unreal note. http://www.sportsexhaust.com.au/Soarer.AVI (2MB)
  22. That’s cool, All I really want a sweet noise anyway. Can't decide if a cannon would look good as no one seems to have put on one a ZRE152 yet, that I’ve seen. Anyone got a pic of a new rolla with a cannon shoved up its bum?
  23. All my past cars have had a sports exhaust and my new Corolla ZR Levin is too dam quiet, can’t get used to it. So new pipe needed. I’ve been told Viken pipes are great on Japanese 4 bangers and will last a very long time without staining, does anyone know anything about them? Will a cannon exhaust affect the fuel consumption much? Fread’s sport exhaust (http://www.sportsexhaust.com.au) can fit one for $450. I live in Southern suburbs of Melbourne, can anyone recommend a good exhaust shop?
  24. Have you had this done yet? How does it look? Where did you get it done?
