  1. I'm waiting for one of these to do some laps at Queensland Raceway for comparison. FD 2??? I assume you mean FN2 (the sci-fi hamster shape)... The FD 2 is the sedan version which isn't sold here (which incidentally is SUPERB - check out the youtube vid. Faster lap time around Suzuka than an FD rx7 and R34!!) whoops, yeh my bad. meant the FN2. yeh the FD2 absolutely flies around track. pity they aren't sold here in Aus ! the things i would do for a Mugen RR FD2 http://www.autoblog.com/2007/06/28/officia...civic-mugen-rr/
  2. interesting read, just one question. im assuming all the referrals to CTR are referring to the EP3. Any experiences / info on how the stivo compares against the newer FD2s ? might as well throw in the civic vti-r hatches and coupes (EK's & EM1's) as they would probably be a more suitable car to compare to the stivo. also theres been no mention of price bar from Leroy's comment. considering the equipment the stivo comes with whilst comparing it to both the ITR and CTR(EP3), the stivo comes out way ahead in terms of value for money.
  3. loving the colour ! doesnt seem like many rollas get full resprays around here. but i agree with tiet, stockies look a bit small at that height. although it IS a sweet height :D
  4. cheers, team black ftw guy on supra forums did it for $120 inclusive of paint (matte black)
  5. Just an update, Black headlight housing done recently. adds a nice touch guy off supra forums did them for me, if you want any more info just ask
  6. welcome to team black ! :) good looking set of planned mods you got there. if you want an idea of how it'll look you can have a look at my build thread. covers most of the mods you want to do, well has pictures anyway and you can ask if you have any questions. for facelift eyelids i would suggest either c-one if your baller or a pair from topstage. topstage also does custom rear eyelids, i believe they're on KaZe- stivo atm. best of luck
  7. Well next up i had an xforce s12 twin loop put on. I'm happy with how it sounds and it gives a nice throaty sound. I'll post up a youtube link later on when i have time. It's quite a bit louder than stock so if you want a stock sounding exhaust probably not for you. That said it probably is a lot quieter than a lot of zorsts, perhaps im just not used to it yet. Anyway had the job done at Performance Exhaust Centre. They do good jobs there if anyone is looking for a place. The sportivo catback is already pretty good so all, i just had the stock muffler cut off and the s12 welded on. Pm me if you want any further info. Now for some pics :) Welds on s12 look pretty decent. Good bang for your buck imo. As for power gains, it seems to give more low-mid range torque and it seems to breathe a bit better when pushing it. Haven't taken it for any serious driving lately but ill be sure to take note.
  8. thanks for clearing that up jaybee :) slick looking white stivo TRDYUS. what rims are those? looks like p1s but spokes are thickish, te37s ? well that settles it, original tein springs are going in when i get the chance. hopefully soon ill post up some pics of nice and low stivo. also, headlight housing done. turned out well, he guy did a good job. pm me if you want any details.
  9. They're sitting in my garage begging me to put them back on. Lets just say i've had other mods to be done first. Well to fill some time, here's a little photoshoot i did with some of my friends. Some pics are a little grainy cause i used a dodgy camera at night that wouldn't let me change the iso. I miss my work emotions ! Saving up for some good tyres. Missing a few people from the group but yeh :) Oh and a little teaser, wonder what it is ?
  10. I know it's an old thread but i guess reviving this one would be better than starting ANOTHER new one on this topic. If it's a bad idea just let me know. Anyway, does anyone have any idea who does custom rails or general modification of rails in NSW? I've got some rails that need to be altered to fit the stivo. Just a basic cut and re-weld as the front bolts already line up, just the back bolts need to be aligned. Cheers for any info.
  11. thanks for the comments guys okay well, the tread on the T1R's were getting really low, so i decided to go try out some rims for fun. First up were some BBS mesh rims in RED. dodgy phone pics but it didn't look too bad in person. Quite eye catching, sure did attract a lot of looks. As you can see though, the offset of those BBS wasn't too friendly with our modest stivo fenders. Although there was no scrubbing which was surprising. Wheels were 15" on Adrenalin Potenza RE001 and weren't on the car for long as they were my mates. Next was a set of Sport Max with some brand new tyres. Was initially planning to keep these on the car for quite a while so got them with Nankang Ultra Sports II which aren't too bad for lasting lots of kilometers. Never got around to taking pics of the sportmax on the stivo as they were on the car for a day when i decided that they were too small and it looked ridiculously high. This leads to the story of my springs which i'll cover later. However i did snap some shots of the sportmax on their own. Nice looking rims on a dumped stivo. Perfect offset and a bit of a dish :D 15x7 +38 Even the plastic was still on the center caps :o Well after this i thought i might as well get a set of stockies in case i ever needed to sell the stivo (Not anytime soon hopefully). Picked up a nice clean set of stockies. Also got a set of eyelids from Topstage, had them painted and here they are. Till next time :).
  12. 4:00 AM on a Tuesday morning. Obviously I have too much time on my hands. Thought I might as well start getting some things for an attention deprived car. Been on the forum for a while now, about time I properly introduce my stivo. I've had it for about 5-6 months now and until recently the modifier's disease hadn't really hit yet. I was happy with what I had. How it looked when i got it. Mods at that time: - TRD CAI - TRD Short shifter - TRD rear sway - C-One front sway - Tein Super Wagon Coilovers with Tein 6kg fronts and 4kg rears - 17" Work Emotion CR Kai in Gunmetal with bald toyo T1R proxes - Rays lug nuts Since then, there's been a few little mods here and there. Things are starting to heat up now though with all this free time. The only cure to modifier's disease is to run out of money. To be continued when i get some sleep i suppose p.s. TEAM BLACK FTW
  13. How exactly would i be 'adjusting' the springs though? I was just planning to put back the springs that originally came with the coilovers i.e. 3kg front and 3kg rears. The bottom strut mount? I was under the impression that to adjust the height you just wound the coils up or down and I've mentioned that they're both pretty much down to the max. Sorry if i misunderstood anything.
  14. I understand that 05 sportivos come with reflectors rather than projectors but was just wondering if there was any way of putting in the HIDs without blinding every car you go past. I've read that you can just aim the headlight down as to reduce glare but is there any other way? Can you install custom projectors or anything like that? Retrofit ? Has anyone done it before.
  15. yeh standard is 195/55R16. when i asked the previous owner he told me he put in tein springs but i can't be sure until i take them out and have a look. i do have the stock springs at home though so i might change them out when i get the chance. any idea if the spring rates actually affect the 'height' of the spring?
  16. yeh i'm sure they're wound down all the way. height looks good on your bro's car. only question is what size are those rims and what tyres is he running? bigger rim size would reduce the wheel gap alone as you can see im on 16" stockies so that might be the difference? cheers for the photos though
  17. i've had my stivo for a few months now. long time reader, thought i might as well start posting since i've got more free time on my hands. I currently have Tein Super Wagon coils on the car but am surprised by the height of the car. The previous owner had changed the stock springs (3kg front and back) to 6kg fronts and 4kg rears. Just wondering if anyone has the stock springs in and can post up or comment on the current height of my car. The coils are wound down all the way at the front and the back has room to be wound down maybe 1 or 2 fingers. Still rather high considering they're coils. Any info would be helpful :) Here's the current height. Front Rear Also took out headlights today to get the headlight housing painted matte black. Took about 15 mins to get them out. Needed to remove the front bumper to get access to the 3rd bolt. They're to be done by a guy of the supra forums who polishes and does headlight housing for supras. Will have an update when they're done. Only concern is whether or not i have to take off the eyelids that are currently on the headlights. Any idea if they melt or anything whilst being heated in the oven? The eyelids are fibreglass and are stuck on using double sided tape. Some pics of an ANGRY black stivo without EYES =D oh and the headlights. thanks in advance for any help
