  1. "mate" please learn some respect.... my Mates get to call me "mate"

    you on the other hand.....

I was givng you some advice... and asking you if you had done any of the Normal trouble shooting things any normal person would normally do if the car wouldnt start.

1... your car needs to spark... hence why i questioned you to recheck that you had infact installed the dizzy correctly.

2.... your car needs Fuel... if your fuel pump is fuxd there will be no fuel pressure. how do you check this? well how does the fuel get to the engine... the fuel lines. remove the line from the fuel rail (even you would have the skill for this) and crank the engine over, if theres fuel spewing everywhere then you have fuel pressure.

its pretty simple... and i fyou dont know what you are doing... and you expect people to just come over and fix things for you, you have a another thing coming... that is unless you can pay, or bata for somones services.

thats how these places (car forums) work.

  2. hi there,

hope enjoyed your holiday, and dont let the stress of your car battery worry you.

if you have a flat battery when you return, have the car jump started, and then just drive the car for a while and the alternator in your car will infact charge the battery up for you.

enjoy the rest of your trip!

  3. Ok I understand the thinking here............but what then explains the Prado's inablity in the sand?

I am looking at purchasing a 2010 Prado.......and intend on using its 4wd capability as much as possible. Is there potentially a performance issue here?

without bagging out the driver, it wasnt the car's fault.

they are a very capable vehicle on and off road, and making nay comparison from previous model prado's compared to the new prado, you be very silly.

new prado is an absolute weapon off road, articulation and 4wd capabilities are 2nd to none.

if you live in melbourne, please bring yourself and your trade in to see me.

  4. If its a work car... i wouldnt worry with the YRX... the YRS + Safety Pack would be my sweet spot.

    clean looking little car, 1.5,

    VSC, TRC, 7 Airbags,

    PA Steering,

    Very spacious (deceptive)

    Digital dash,

    Bluetooth + MP3 + USB

    Leather steer and gear,

    4 power windows.

very econmical, very cheap running costs... (Toyota Service Advantage $130 per service for 3 years/60K)

    RELIABLE!

    RESALE!

    OMG buy the Yaris!

i wont bag the other cars....

but please check out the following... Service charges, and CO2 Emissions. Deisel cars are great for fuel economy, but are the dirtiest polluters. Not a single one made the Green Car top 50.

  5. Hey all,

Also a newbie on here and have ordered a 2010 Levin ZR in silver pearl. I ordered it back in November and should be getting it first or second week of March so I cant wait!.

I got mine from Brighton Toyota (VIC) for a pretty good price.

    I payed $32,200 for

    auto

    silver pearl

    sunroof

    weathershields

    bonnet protector

As soon as i get the car I will be tinting the windows somewhere (as Toyota wanted $500), getting it lowered and hopefully putting different wheels on it as I dont like the new ones. I heard Bob Jane do swap overs with a bit of money on top so im planning on getting the raptor wheels that Toyota sell.

I'll post up pics as soon as I've got it if anyones interested. :)

Hey there... congrats on your purchase,

go for the Kappa wheels... they suit the new ZRE facelift so well!

  6. Here you go, how about the new patrol V8, 293kw 5.6L with 550nm. Now thats sounds very tempting...why cant toyota improve its 202kw 4.7L v8 petrol?

    Anyone seen it? fantastic.

    heres a link

    WOW

I think i might have found my next car.

how much are they? fuel consumption? tow capacity? service charges? any real 4WD specs?

TD LC200 has 650nm at 1600rpm.... thats impressive

LC200 is an 8 seater too.

theres more to this argument than kw of power....

  7. all i have to say is respect and treat people the way you wish to be treated yourself....

from my previous job i travelled an awful lot to China... and being the hairy prick that i am, was called many number of things... the most insulting was "undeveloped"

so from my personal experience, i know racisim is everywhere, and anywhere that a minority exists.

as far as places of ermployment being selective, i think that it is vital, in any customer service role here in Australia, that your team be as multicultural as possible.

  8. OK....

    Update Time....

a few weeks ago, eviltwin and myself split a wreck 1987 Twincam Corolla 50/50.

    so now i have a 4AGE....

could be a bit interesting as the car had clearly had chemiweld put through the engine, so now the cleaning and the rebuilding needs to happen. so after a slab of beer, we'd got the ***** out of the donor car and had it sitting on the floor.

things i have bought for the new engine....

    T50 Gearbox

    New Clutch line

    New Clutch

    New water pump

    New Crank Shaft Seals

New Inlet and Exhaust manifold gaskets

    New Pilot bearing

    Bits for RWD wateer conversion

    Fuel Pump

    Timing Belt

    Fan/Alternator Belt

    Things left to buy/do

Hyundai Excel Radiator + Thermo Fans

    RWD Custom Loom

    Rocker Cover washers/seals

    remove sump & inspect

Cut and Shut Inlet manifold for RWD

    fill the T50 with oil

    remove the 4AC

    Insert the 4AGE

    install, fuel, wiring, cooling

    start

    ;)
