  1. Quite possibly its for the Spiral Cable or "Clock Spring" behind the steering wheel. Its a fairly common problem. Given its an 07 model, you may or may not get that replaced under warrenty. Kinda depaneds on the dealer I spose.

  2. The ECU has probably logged a fault code (hence the engine light) but it may have corrected itself. However the code will remain stored in its memory till its cleared but won't bring the light back on unless something triggers it. Best get it checked out.

  3. A bit more info would be helpful. On your build plate where it says "axle" it should have some sort of code eg g242. If you could post that, that would be helpful. Most 4wd hilux's have do have an LSD, but as for bearings, you'll have to find out when you pull it apart. If your fitting a lockrtie, then this won't matter anyway (pinions, lsd etc) as you throw those away.

    Cheers

  4. The panel shop might have put them upside down. If you pop them out, you'll see an arrow on one of the tabs that hold them in the bumper. That arrow needs to be facing upwards. Otherwise no other adjustments can be made to reverse sensors.

  5. We have been having a few problems with the intake and exhaust vvti controlers on current corolla and kluger. Only makes the noise till it gets oil pressure then it goes away, and only on cold start situations such as early mornings or when its left sitting for a long period of time.

  6. Picking my car up today, re booked back in next wednesday for a recall job. Wiring Harness under the dash caused the problem i think they said. Day job take the entire dash out. We'll see if that works!

Day job for a dash out? Which dealer did you send it too? Its not a day job to remove the dash...the whole dash out - dash in job should take no more than 3-4hrs tops

  7. Yep, 05 motors are, as far as im aware, bulletproof. Only difference between this one and the later ones is that the later ones are common rail diesels same as the Hilux (they changed over about the same time).

  8. Depends on the bar, but yes the rear of the car (and some of the left had side) has to come apart to fit the bar and wiring loom and you have to cut the bumper for the tounge section if you use the genuine towbar and wiring loom. Can't say for sure about aftermarket stuff though.

  9. The coolant in your Yaris is Toyota Super longlife coolant which doesn't get changed till 160,000kms logbook service. If you intend topping it up, you will need to buy some from Toyota as the stuff is premixed and using water will degrade it.

  10. I recently got a yellow sticker on my 1988 Toyota Hilux Surf LN61 because my drivers side power window doesnt work.

The auto sparky told me to get a new main window switch to fix it but they are ridiculously hard to find. I was wondering if anyone has come across the part, come across the order number for it, or knows how to get it.

Any help or ideas would be great

    Cheers

your best bet will to be to try an import wrecker as you probably won't get a brand new genuine one. Im fairly sure our 1st 4runners (yn61 i think) didn't have power windows.
