  1. at high revs the engine is a lot louder as you would get from installing a pod filter, though not that extreme.

A drop in panel filter will be nowhere close to as loud as a SRI/CAI with pod filter. The comparison between the two, regardless of the car, is like night and day.

Just don't want to get anyone's hopes up.

But from your knowledge.....with the engine being perfectly tuned. Was there a noticable difference with having a pod?

  2. Mate, really awful to hear.

I'll i can say from my experience is no mater how much crap or "sorry to hear" messages from people u get about this, you can always fix the car or sort the problems out with money another way later on down the track.

As for u and ur dad thats somthing money cant buy.

Anyway from here it can only get better.... so keep on smiling dude :)

  3. mate...i bought mine from ebay and got the kit that does high and low beam 6000k crystal white. it has a tinge of blue and is fantastic..i love them to death

But what ever anyone says about buying it from a retailer..ebay...auto electrictian its still the same quality HID kit i recon.

I spent $160 with shipping and installed it myself. But i recon u wont get ripped off if u buy it from a seller on ebay like most of us forum members do...try an aussi seller to get a better service. as a side note one of my ballast's didnt work and it took me 5 days to send it and get a replacement back

  4. May I also mention

I have found about 10 suppliers thai & malaysia/singapour and china that do kits

they may have similar kits not all the same either some PU other fiber glass or abs.

also wald kits 4 diffrent variantions look very similar but have closer look and all is revealed.

kits begin from AUD$200 to AUD$700 then + postage extra which is the killer part

can you post up the links to the websites please

  5. ....last night i went to see daybreakers at the movies, and these young gals about 17ish wouldnt shut up. One of them thought it would be funny reading the movie ratings and everything.

I was surprised they could read ....woopppdii dooo

had some people telling telling them to shut the **** up. Thank god people broke a nerve before me.

  6. any update??

been keeping an eye on this topic waiting for the update

    hopefully well find out soon

i was cheacking out the ford forums. They sound kinda intimidated by the aurions. Some dont see holden as a threat cos their slower and heavier than the fords. but they do agree the aurion and the xr6 is a tight win. There was discussing something along the lines of the axis on the fords have gotta turn a good 90 degrees to get to good turn. the positive thing is that the FWD cars like the aurion doesnt have to turn as far.

im tired as hell..but here are the links to the pages i viewed

thought it would be interesting seeing that the ford owners had to say on their rival lol

  7. Hey guys, does anyone know step by step how to take off the driver side door upholstery?

Im having problems with the central locking. Whenever i press the remote or the central lock button on the passenger door, the passenger door does not lock/unlock. I have to use to key to unlock the door. 20% of the time it works but 80% of the time it doesnt and usually when its really hot weather.

So i was thinking of spraying it with some WD-40.

    Cheers

buy a haynes repair manual for the car.

best think i did being the case hardly anyone here has a AE101 and AE102

i'll let u know if its got anything on removing the door upholstery and fax it to u,

just shoot though a message with a fax number to send if i find anything.

  8. Just a Question

with the new aurion have they fixed the following issues:

    *dash rattle

    *leaking oil problem

*centre console that makes a creaky noise ( where the gear is between the front driver and passanger seats)....is this a common problem for everyone?

Also does it drives differently or is it just the same car with a different front bumper and rear tail lights

to those aurion owners are there little problems like this across all the models cos i kinda feel like as though toyota has cheaped out with quality after readying all these aurion owner thread with problems.

Just curious...cos its coming close to buying another car this year

  9. Sorry to offend you both...but im sure u'd understand the frustration..i over reacted.

Your correct....people shouldnt judge age ...over just being a complete idiot. (LIKE I JUST DID ABOVE)

  10. This is about me and my car last night....sorry if its long but my car started a fire in the engine bay.

A young mechanic was servicing my car last year before christmas i found out today. Its taken till last night for the Engine Oil Cap to fall off whilst ive been driving and leak the whole engine bay. the mechanic put somone elses cap on my car that wouldnt even screw on cos it was smaller.

I lost a full engines worth of oil that ended up on the road, all through the engine bay and inside the top of the bonnet. The bonnet was dripping with it the whole time when i had it lifted. ASK TOYO ASSASIN cos he was there with me.

Anyway i finnaly got it home and the car was still in one peice. When i parked it out at home there was heaps of smoke comming out of the bonnet so i left the bonnet open just watching it cool down for a while, and the manifold of my car just went on FIRE!! with the oil that was dripping on it.

Quickly blew it out and avoided a massive explosion or at least ruined car thank god!!

Took it to the mechanic this morning have the O'dd oil cap taped several times though the engine bay to kep it held. Iwas told me i shouldnt have driven the car...and i must have lost a good 4L of engine oil..which he was right.

Anyway apparenlty the bloke no longer works because of simular problems like mine.so i think it safe to keep going back. I hope he wont let me down like this again by letting younger people service the car, and instead leave the himself ( owner mechanic of the business) do the servicing from now on.

Thats my rant for the day

Anyway the qualified mechanic (owner) helped me out and gave me a oil cap so i can drive the car straight away and degresed the engine bay and washed it all out for me. He has ordered me the correct toyota one for my model which will be ready for my next service, which was great and i am pleased about. ^_^
