New Setup

K my suspension is completely rooted. Its waaaay to low so i scrape on everything. And the bump stops are obliterated so every bump i hit causes permenant brain damage. Ive decided that im going to use my tax refund to buy a new suspension setup.

Any advice one a decent setup? And how much it will cost? Currently have King Superlows i believe, and if they're not then they have definatly been cut to look like it. Im just going to get some king lows for my new setup. Looks neat and tidy without gouging huge holes under my car :D

BTW im not bothering with a coilover setup. Too expensive and i have no need

How much do you want to spend ?

Sounds like your on a budget so you should get some new shocks, using your existing superlows springs.

Pedders have a good range and pretty good prices.

Also depending how long you had those springs it may need replacing aswell.

Im going to sell the springs. i cant stand scrapping my car on the speed humps at north rocks shop every farkn time i go there. Might go with KONI then. yeah im on a budget. i need new rims, shocks and a rust cut all before the end of the year. i live at home which is good (im only 18 so i have an excuse :P) so im not spendiong money on anything else really

Just going to get king lows instead of super lows

superlows at the back and lows at the front gets an AE92 sitting level, with lows all round they get quite a rake.

I'd replace the front springs and put new shocks in. If you want Koni's you need the original SX strut housings, as they're a larger diameter to accept the Koni inserts. The top of the rear struts has to be cut off to fit them, the front struts have a gland nut that can be unscrewed and the contents of the strut tipped out.

Koni's will most likely set you back ~$800, a decent alternative is KYB Gas which can be done for around $350.

Im not exactly mister handy man. so i'll be having a mechanic do it all. My mechanic has built many a track car so he said he will let me know when he can work out what will fit but i was just wondering if you guys had any ideas or proven setups that work

I've done more suspension setups on AE92's than I can remember.

Superlow rear, low fronts, KYB struts and new bumpstops is a proven budget combo.

If you want higher performance, use Koni shocks and whiteline adjustable swaybars front and rear.

Already got super lows on the back and lows on the front ive discovered. And i already have swaybars done... its an animal on the track but aussie roads arn't so fond of it... Will the bump stops make a huge difference?

struts help more than bumpstops. The bumpstops are there to stop you destroying the struts.

I might just get it all redone then. No point in wasting money on something that will happen again soon if i dont fix it properly
