The radiator on my wifes 82 corolla is blocked - you can hold your hand on the right side till the cows come home, but can't touch the left side!

Problem is - How do you unblock it?

Radiator man wants $100.00 for back flush and $250.00 for new radiator.

I just wonder if back flushing works, or would I be better off just shelling out for the newbie anyway?

Anyone been there before?

Thanks :help:

To unblock the cores and replace the top and bottom tanks usually sets you back around the $200 mark...

For an extra $50, I'd be getting a new one...

I had one serviced the other week, removed the bottom tank, cleared the tubes with a metal rod, resealed and pressure tested for $80. It was 50% blocked.
