Is it a whine or a clicking noise.

Howdi all i just bout another corona......:) its a 1974 RT104 automatic sedan. I have had it for about 2 weeks and done 2000kms in it, grandpa kms as i really like this car and dont want to thrash it like my ST141 lol. Lately it has developed a clicking sound when under load, it sounds like the mitsubish sigma and magna wine.....(you know the really annoying one) it only makes the noise under load.

I have regularly been checking the oil and coolant levels and all is well. However the timing is a little out because when i turn the engine off sometimes it runs on for a couple seconds which ive heard is bad for my starter?

So does anyone have ideas on what it could be? Hopefully its just the timing out or somethin simple. By the way i dont have a car manual for it yet but do they have timing belts or timing chains?

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Cheers,

Clarence

:blink:try running it on premium fuel, sounds like a case of pre ignition to me. old 104s like ours weren`t designed to run on low octaine standard unleaded.
