Doing A 50K Service On Yaris

heya guys im new to these forums

im attempting a 50k service on the mrs yaris

what oils do you guys use?

does toyota have its own brand of oils

i was going to stick with castrol magnatec

i would bascially being doing a simple lube job (oils, filters and topping up of any fluids)

any replies appreciated

Castrol Magnatec will be fine...

50,000km service is just a quick one...

Replace Engine Oil

Replace Engine Oil Filter

Clean Air Filter

Rotate Tyres (Best to front)

Check All Lights Are Working

Top Up Levels If Necessary (washer bottle, battery, coolant, brake fluid)

Check and Adjust Brakes

Tyre Pressures

And thats about it...

Yeah as roollaboy says, just a minor. Magnatec is fine, use a 10w/30 grade, semi-synthetic. Toyota do have their own oil, but it's made by Caltex. Make sure you use genuine parts (i.e. genuine oil filter) so you don't run into any trouble with warranty if the motor goes pop!

i think i would be sticking with toyota oils now

apprantly my little brother in law can get cheap toyota oils and parts as he works toyota

not sure what the savings are, ill post every one a price list of what he can get

If he works there your oil filter will be $12 - $15 and engine oil around $20...
