Replacing the plastic console with something nicer.

Hi all, I just signed the papers today on a zr6. They were throwing in the toyota sat nav unit for free so it all made for a good deal compared to the other models.

I have looked back 24 pages and haven't found this topic before..

The only thing that disappoints me is the rather average plastic console.. :( has anyone got around to replacing it with wood or carbon fibre with a nice weave?

I got it with 18" back ice alloys and right now reckon that the console is the only thing I feel compelled to change!

If you weren't too concerned about having everything absolutely perfect, a vinyl cover would be your best bet.

Or....there was a company called MODICOAT I think that does that kind of thing, they are now known as MAD Coatings.

The Mad coatings looks perfect.

Trouble is I am in New Zealand.. I tried a search for the process they use, water transfer printing, but I haven't got many hits for NZ.

I need to do a bit of ringing around I think.

i was saving up to have my dash reprocessed with a carbon fibre weave by 'dash design'

didn't know about madcoatings. they're much cheaper too, i think i might look into them

Sweet. MAD Coatings is in Queensland. I guess I can look into that as well. LOL.
