zee122 head unit upgrade to mp3

Hi all,

I'm new here and wasn't sure whether to post this in Intros or here.

I'm usually found over at ozmazdaclub.com, but my wife's 2003 Corolla Ascent has brought me here.

Hope you guys can help... I'm after an upgrade head unit from the stock to the 'newer' mp3 unit.

I've been told the latest model won't fit, but a 2005 should.

a. Does anyone have one they're selling??

b. Will the 2005 model fit? And will any other later model fit.

A wrecker near me has told me the 2005 will fit, but he wants $275 for it, which I thought was a bit steep.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i would say 99.9 % sure direct swap over same loom etc

ive upgraded my 02 rolla headunit to a 05 mp3 unit, direct swap

i would recommend getting an aftermarket one

where are you located?

if your in perth i could sell you my stock mp3

I ended up getting one from a local wreckers for $150. Some might think I was charged too much, but I was happy to spend that.

Thanks for the offer Jay, but as it's the wife's car, I didn't really want to spend to much time or money on an aftermarket one. She wouldn't even appreciate one. I just wanted the mp3 capability and AUX input for when I drive it.

Thanks again everyone... I was even able to find instructions on how to remove the old head unit on this site... might I say that it was a great set of instructions.
