Echo Aftermarket Stereo

Hi I just bought an 03 echo.

stock stereo is stuffed, wanting to install a new one.

A few questions:

1. Can any toyota double din unit be installed?

2. If I wanted to get a single din aftermarket unit with USB for ipod etc is there something I can fill the empty slot with? eg storage slot

4 ur questions, yeah, any toyota double din can be installed.

if u wanted 2 get a single din cd/mp3/usb player, a storage slot is avaliable form anywhere realli. i know for a fact stratfield car radio's stock them.

(if i was u id go 4 the aftermarket cd player, pioneer ;))

I would usually go to the wreckers to get a storage slot, since it comes stock to some cars, i got a replacement one (bad idea to feed an ipod cable through it, slides around if you dont have a grip mat... and got it stolen...)

Pockets are only around $30 new, can't see any reason to get one second hand. You'll want a Toyota-specific pocket as they fit better onto the factory brackets.

Any double DIN can be installed if you get the side adapter plates from Toyota; they were less than $5. Double DIN will look better and there are plenty with USB,Ipod, bluetooth, etc. It just depends how much you want to pay.

i got mine for 3$ from a smashed up paseo heehe and a spare tyre with more than 90% for $30, and alot of free screws and clips.
