brake light indicator is turning on?

was driving the car and when i went for the brake the brake light flashed on

i then safely....tested the brakes to see if of the light comes on again but it didnt.

again tonight it came on 4 times....looked at the car manual. It says somethings wrong "duh"....something to do with the brake fluid possibly being low. If it isnt then i have to take it to a mechanic as it is serious.

Any help guys as to why this is happening?....im going to check the brake fluid tomorrow

I suppose it has to be something the ecu can notice. Maybe ur fluid is low? Is there a senor over the brake line?

I had a similar problem in my last car. twice

1) Check your brake fluid, if its right on the full mark, add a little bit more as i heard that as you go around bends it sloshes around and can cause the light to come on (Dont overfill.lol)

2) Check that your brake lights come on when you hit the brakes, as my parkers worked but one of my brake lights was busted and as they were wired in series it causes both not to work.

Both events cause the brake warning light to come on.
