hey guys

as u may or may not know i got a gen 4 camry. as the topic states last night my central locking died. i orignaly thought it was the remote so i got one of my spares and tried to re-program it but it still didn't work. because it was late a night i gave up and went to lock the door by turning the lock with the key, expecting all doors to lock....they didn't, opened the door sat inside and pushed the button next to the auto mirror adjustor didn't work.

now i need to lock every door manualy from the inside which is very annoying since im a delivery driver.

anyone who can help me, please lol im stuck out of ideas and dont have the money atm to send it to auto-electrian

This may seem really stupid, but have you tried checking any fuses? There should be a 25A fuse labelled 'DOOR' which could possibly be blown. If that one is okay, or you replace it and it doesn't fix the problem, checking the 30A one labelled 'PWR' or 'POWER' won't hurt. That one usually is only responsible for the power windows though, but you never know.

thanks for the help, i'll try it when i get home. if it is one of the fuses, is there a logical explanation as to y it would blow? i haven't done anything out of the ordinary however, now that i think of it the interior light was playing up a couple of nights ago and its blown aswell...the night the central locking stopped. not at the same time though.

btw the fuses that ur talking about...in the engine bay or driver footwell?

Fuses can sometimes blow unexpectedly for many different reasons. Maybe a door lock got jammed temporarily and for some reason during a lock process, it overloaded enough to blow the fuse. Either way, if you change the fuse and it doesn't blow again, it was just a one off thing that you shouldn't really have to worry about. If it blows again quickly, then maybe the wiring and/or the actuator needs to be looked at.

The fuse in question will be on the inner fuse panel of your car. Either behind the glove box or the passenger/driver side kick panel.

Yep I'd have to agree with the "Door" fuse too... not something that I've seen happen before though. I've blown fuses when replacing tail lights and the likes, there's a few to choose from... it should be in the driver side kick panel there. Been a while since I had to look in there though.

If not, ask Dave (SupaTouring), he's pretty cluey with this stuff as well.

hey guys, thanks for the input. that night i got home and checked the door fuse...was fine, checked the power fuse was fine. i eventually got very frustrated with it and checked every fuse possible. it was the 'DOME' fuse in the engine bay. i thought that the interior light blowing a couple of hours before the central locking went was a complete coinsidence, turns out we were wrong.

fixed now, will turn my attention to the interior light, see why it caused the fuse to blow, will give u an update if u like

Well, if the light blows, it might have had over current been passed down the line to blow the fuse... why it affected your central locking? Wouldn't have a clue. Maybe it relies on the dome fuse for the light to come on when the car's unlocked? who knows... you'd only be able to get this information from someone who's had the same issue and I doubt Toyota mechanics would know the answer to that straight away mate.

wot ur saying makes sense, but the light didn't blow lol.....got me stumped it just turned off and didn't come back

But but... the light blew? Either way, if the fuse is gone, for whatever reason, then obviously the light ain't gonna work :P lol... how'd the dome light stop working then?

I reckon there's a relationship with the interior dome light and the central locking...

      Buying 3rd hand 2010 Aurion Sportvio for $9000

      That is about the standard price you'd expect nothing crazy, I paid pretty much the same for a 2008 model with 160k on the clock. As to the high km's and maintenance, 165,000km for a Toyota is nothing to sweat about and the maintenance/repairs are pretty cheap. If it's been treated well by the previous owners and you continue to look after it then it will easily last you another 5 years.

      Removing low beam bulb 2014 Camry

      I apologise if this is an idiotic question--I've searched and watched dozens of videos on how to replace a burnt out bulb, and i'm fine with it (i've even done it before, though it was years ago). the problem is that I can't seem to get the bulb out of the 'plug'/base--it seems that that is too blindingly obvious to be explained or shown on camera. I can't remember what I did last time I replaced a bulb... I don't know if I have to push something on the fitting to release it, if i have to twist it, or just yank really hard. I've applied as much strength as I dared, but am afraid of breaking something if i try to brute force it out. I could just pay $15 for someone at supercheap to pop it out and replace it for me but it's become a matter of principle at this point... I'm unwilling to admit defeat. The photos below are from a different post on this forum, but they're the same exact kind of bulb/fitting i'm struggling with... Any tips would be much appreciated. My wife is getting really annoyed with me because we can't drive at night but i'm too stubborn to pay $15. Thanks!

      Aftermarket Air Intake

      Hey all, Just recently bought a 2007 TRD Aurion and am trying to find an aftermarket Air Intake, but am coming to the realisation that there is a very limited market for TRD Aurions. So far the only system I've been able to find is a K&N Typhoon Intake (link here: https://www.carmodsaustralia.com.au/KN-Filters-69-8611TS-69-Series-Typhoon-Performance-Air-Intake-System-Camry-35L-07-11?cq_src=google_ads&cq_cmp=18898892770&cq_con=&cq_term=&cq_med=pla&cq_plac=&cq_net=x&cq_plt=gp&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwpZWzBhC0ARIsACvjWRP893VLnAQsxIZJjcW5Go75b_T2N25rSWBVu6IeDziM2v41bpeyOREaAg1fEALw_wcB), however when viewing specifications for the product it states it fits Camry's from 2007-2011. Further digging revealed this product is an import from the USA hence why it's for a Camry - they don't have Aurions there. I am aware that they both share the 2GR-FE engine so I'm assuming the product will be able to be retrofitted to my TRD, provided the throttle body intake is the same diameter across Supercharged 2GR-FE's and N/A 2GR-FE's. Has anyone else in Aus had any luck sourcing/fitting one of these K&N Intakes, or know of another brand that do them specifically for the TRD Aurion's. Pretty confident in just ordering the aforementioned kit but their return policy sucks (can't return and refund if packaging has been opened, etc). Cheers guys! Jason.

      Heater problems

      My Toyota Celica SX blows cold air at the driver’s side when the heater is on, and it is an absolute nuisance. I get that it takes a while for the heater to work properly, but some reason after I have the heater on, it starts blowing out cold air even after a good warm up! I feel like the heater core may need replacing or the air conditioner/heater needs re-gassing.

      Entertainment Unit Upgrade

      Hi everyone. Just after some advice on head unit upgrade. I'm looking to upgrade the functionality of the entertainment system to do a few things - display my dual camera from my caravan, utilise the HEMA OnRoad/OffRoad module, stream to the rear screens, and include wireless apple play. I've narrowed down to the most popular which seems to be Advanced Ice, EC Offroad and Galios - but none seem to do all four functions seamlessly. Not sure if I'm actually looking for a unicorn or not...has anyone had any experience in installing one of these systems and has it done all the functions? Any regrets? Cheers Mark
