I have a 2008 1.8 petrol and my son-in-law a 2006 2.2 diesel - both Toyota UK Avensis 5 door hatchback models.

Could someone tell me the equivalent model in Australia - Avensis, Aurion or something else?

Our cars don't look like anything on your AU websites - our Avensis looks rather conservative (boring?)

Australia never got the Avensis (neither did Japan, for that matter - it's a Euro only car), just the Avensis Verso people-mover. Our model range jumps straight from Corolla to Camry (the Aurion is a V6 Camry with a nose and tail facelift).
