Hey guys,

My name is Tom, i'm 19, and studying civil engineering at QUT in Brisbane.

I'm ashamed to say that I've been a member of this site for nearly a year now and still haven't introduced myself :whistling:

In that time, I've found this site to be a wealth of knowledge and have since modified my car with Sportivo rims from Wayne123R, a Whiteline rear sway, and lowered it on Kings Low's and KYB's from SILVABULLIT. Being my first car, I wanted to keep things pretty simple and just enjoy driving it :)

My mechanical knowledge of cars is pretty limited, but I've learnt a lot since becoming a member here, and hope to learn a lot more now that I've bothered to get off my ***** and say hi!

      Air conditioner not switching on when vehicle is started

      I'm having the exact same issue as Graham. Last time they told me it was the battery. Toyota still can't find the issue, going in for service in about 2 weeks. We'll see what they come up with this time.

      Air conditioner not switching on when vehicle is started

      I’m having the same start up issue as Garry, it seems to be a problem with the accumulators that control the air flaps. I took it up with my dealer and they want $900 to replace all 6 (they have to pull a lot of the dash apart to get to the top 2 vents) and they won’t guarantee it will fix it. my car will take 50 seconds from cold start up before the climate control can be turned on and it resets to 25 degrees, if the car has been tuned off for less than an hour, it still takes 50 seconds to startup but it will automatically revert to the last temp set (say 22degrees) once that is done the climate control works perfectly other than it doesn't have air flow on the passenger side feet and I suspect its one of those 2 accumulators that is playing up. Is this what others are experiencing? I will post what I find once I find out what is the cause I think gnh-1 issue is different, that sounds more like a blockage and the system is icing up, hence the water in the cabin

      BOOT LATCH RELEASE

      The boot latch release inside the car (on floor next to the driver's side) is broken. Pull it up and it is just loose and doesn't open boot. Any suggestion whether this is a diy fix or who or where to have it fixed at a reasonable price? Cheers

      REMOTE KEY FOB FOR AURION 2009

      Hi, thought I'd take the cheap route (rather than Toyota's quote of near $350!!) and buy a replacement fob off ebay $20.... helluva difference. Unfortunately, I reach the last stage in the instructions but "locks should cycle once for correct programming, or twice if procedure is incomplete". Nothing happens and the fob is not programmed. I've tried so many times . Any suggestions please? I did see an answer on here that perhaps the "memory" for the number of devices is full and would need to wipe all memory and start again. I'm too scared to do this for my one and only original fob, in case it doesn't work :(( Cheers

      Aurion 2005 transmission issue

      The car is going great now and it was a mechanic called Adam at Brutton Automotive Windsor NSW. I am so impressed with the customer service from this young man, he has gone above and beyond in the times I have taken my vehicle to him.

      Noise in brake master cylinder assembly

      Hi l have a 2000 vx Prado and the small cylinder on the right of the master cylinder is making a churping noise. It occurs randomly but is most prevalent when brakes are applied. The pipes going to the offending area vibrate when noise is on. Is there a remedy.

      Toyota Camry 1993 Starts rough then runs OK.

      I have concluded that there is water leaking into one or more cylinders due to a failing head gasket. It most likely is original and has done well to last for 32 years. Composite gasket. I plan to pull it apart and have the head checked and machined in the usual way, and change the timing belt and water pump etc. while I am at it. I'll mark the thread as solved. Jim.

      Changed my mind again, (last time 😁) Method Race Wheels 703-HD Bead Grip Matte Black 18x9 6x139.5 +40ET ZMR70389060540H, Micky Thompson BAJA BOSS A/T 275/70/R18 33.2 inch and largest legal size with the 2 inch lift. 1.6 inch larger than standard. Cheers JA
