Hi Guys,

New to the forum and just have a quick question regarding a 07 YR Yaris. (sorry wrong model in the title lol)

Does anyone know if the standard headunit that comes with this model has a aux cable or the option for one at the back of the unit...I dont want to pull things apart if there isnt one or if one cannot be installed.

Also does anyone else find this car to be a bloody boat around corners?

nope... dont think they do... I think the later models have the auxillary input on the front. The only input on the back "might" be for a genuine cd stacker etc etc...

you might be able to get a unit from a toyota dealer on the cheap that does have auxillary input on the front... some people upgraded... and the units between yaris, corolla, rav, kluger, prado are all interchangeable...

EDIT:

After extensive testing, and looking at this thread I have come to the conclusion it is NOT possible on the headunit from my 06 YRS (should be the same as yours) look at the pics below though.

If your DISC button has DISC/AUX on it, then you are good to go, if not, then no dice.

crazy test wiring.

as for the handling, I dont find mine to be a boat at all, IMO it handles really well for what it is...

  • 3 weeks later...

Spot on the YR model has the non 6 stacker interface compared to the YRS which has the 6 disc "load" feature for multiple discs.

YRX on the other hand is the bluetooth enabled setup and has the same load feature as per YRS.

ps: fantastic cars and with electric steering handle suprisingly well.

Drive a 1.7 tonne Aristo you'll know the meaning of boat.
